LYC Cottage #2

Little Yellow Cottages consist of a block of six one and two bedroom cottages, located in Downtown Port Austin. They are perfect for those that desire activity and comfort. Across the street, you will find the Port Austin marina, beach, and pier, as well as Port Austin’s seasonal Farmer’s Market. The cottages themselves are ideal for both small groups requiring just one cottage, or larger groups needing more room, yet seeking the privacy afforded by the individual cottages.

Each of the Little Yellow Cottages feature a screened in porch with seating, a living room with TV & soft seating, a full kitchen (plates, bowls, utensils, pots/pans, etc.), air conditioning and/or heat, and a private bath with shower. Cottages are available in both one bedroom and two bedroom configurations and can accommodate up to six guests. Outdoors you will find a fire pit, outdoor grills, and picnic tables and chairs. You are welcome to enjoy the space outback, as well as your own private patio with outdoor seating. You can purchase wood, charcoal, and other essentials for your outdoor fun just a few minutes from your cottage.

The two bedroom cottages each have one bedroom with a queen or full size bed, and one bedroom with two twins. The one bedroom and studio cottages have 1 queen sized bed and 1 queen sized sofa bed.

Bring your own linens!

You need to bring your own linens to this property. This was communicated in an email from the host which I overlooked. Realizing what happened, the hosts very graciously had some extra linens delivered. The hosts were kind, gracious and very responsive. The little cottage itself was clean and cute and the beach was just a short walk away. We would stay there again!

This page is for you to learn a little about us, the Guests, your hosts!
We met in 2008, started dating in 2009, got married in 2014, had our daughter (Lottie) in 2019, and purchased LYC in 2021 on a whim.
We permanently reside just outside of downtown Rochester. We are seasoned campers (with a travel trailer), love traveling outside of the U.S. when we can, and spend most of our free time chasing our toddler around our pink brick ranch built in the 1960s.

Why they chose this property

Our property is perfectly situated in downtown Port Austin. We are located one block from a public beach, across the street from the Port Austin Farmers Market, and two blocks from Lake Street which has multiple shops, restaurants and a grocery store.
