About Andrew Boaz

After growing up in New York, I ventured out to Vail Colorado in 1979. The Ski Bum was born. With my love for great food and drink, I found myself pursuing a career in the restaurant business and ended up managing and owning them. Looking for a lifestyle change led me to my first visit to Costa Rica in 1991, which allowed me to pursue another passion of mine, Surfing. I started building this beautiful retreat in 2002, and I am still expanding and improving. Come and live the dream with me, even if it's just for a while.

Andrew Boaz purchased this townhome in 2002

Why Andrew Boaz chose Tamarindo

Look for Banco National, just past bank make a right up the hill, then another right. Just past Seasons/ Arcois Iris Hotel make your first left. We are 100 meters straight up the hill. You will see wooden gates and a Boaz Logo on right side of golden color wall. Welcome to Casa Boaz

Relaxing with entertainment just down the road

Close enough to downtown for any one to walk. Very pleasant host. Went out of his way to cook pizza one night, and fired up pizza oven New Years eve for roasted chicken. The grounds are nice and the you never knew what animals would show. Advised us how to get to a few lesser known areas, and back roads to get around traffic. Wonderfull time!!

It was quiet and a nice laid back place that Andy has. I would go back. It is however a good walk into town so be prepared to get a car or transportation. Andy is a good host and nice guy Ken Svigel

We enjoyed our Tamarindo Casa. Lots to do, lots to see, Andrew is a happy helpful kind of guy.

Little pool is great, Casa Vail was spacious and comfortable. It's not fancy but has tons of character. You don't need a car in Tamarindo and if you book a tour they will pick you up at the house, however we wish we had rented a golf cart or ATV for a couple of days. We would highly recommend the monkey and crocodile riverboat tour in the national park as well as the sunset catamaran cruise - ask Andrew which one. Stuff is a little more expensive then you might think but most places accept US money. They give you change in colones so if you're using dollars instead of a debit card, it's good to have small bills too.

Great intro to Tamarindo and Costa Rica

  • 4 of 5

For our very first visit to Costa Rica, we couldn't have found a better place to feel at home. We were in the Casa Romantica, which was very spacious and had everything we needed. We asked Andy for a room with a stove, in case we wanted to do some cooking, but ended up just having serial for breakfast and used the skillet and stove once to heat up some left overs. The sleep quality is great here. Our bed was very comfortable and the property is located in a residential section, away from the commotion, but just a few minutes walk to the beach, groceries and restaurants.

Andy was a great host. He was there if we needed anything and to answer any questions, but otherwise, pretty much let us have our privacy.

Great Place!

Cottage was perfect for single or a couple. Really enjoyed sitting out by the pool during the evening. Short walk to town but far enough away that you don't get the noise. Andy is fabulous host!
