Breathtaking views 5min from the beach!

Ixora Vacational Rental is our 900-square-foot downstairs apartment. The space is completely separate from the upstairs portion where my husband and I reside, with its separate entrance and patio.

The updated and modern apartment has 2 bedrooms (1 king-sized bed and 1 queen-sized bed). It is air-conditioned with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with a standing shower and has a living and dining area. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer. There are two additional tables on the patio as well as the garden area where guests can enjoy dining outdoors to catch the fresh breeze and enjoy the ocean view.
The apartment is best suited for working-class families and friends with children 12 years of age and o lder. If you must get work done while on holiday no worries. -The apartment is equipped with Wi-Fi!

Such a wonderful house and even better hosts! I feel I’ve made true friends. The house is better than pictured and is extremely well equipped. It is stocked with everything you can think of and more. Carolyn went above and beyond. We would , most certainly, stay here again.

Totally agree with all previous reviews. The apartment was so comfortable, clean and well stocked and Carolyn and Trevor couldn't have been more helpful. Old Road is a great location, we walked to the beach every morning, which we loved. Just us and maybe a couple of local people, perfect! Really enjoyed the garden hammock and watching the sunset from the veranda. Highly, highly recommended.

Had an amazing two weeks with Carolyn and Trevor. They have a beautiful secluded location just up the hill from Morris Bay (great beach to visit too). Carolyn greeted us as we pulled up and gave us a brief tour of the home along with a basket of fresh fruits, goodies and a refrigerator stocked with drinks. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom well stocked and had great water pressure. The home is just minutes from some of Antiguas best beaches, and there are local shops for groceries, fruits, veggies and ice cream. We will definitely stay again and would recommend Carolyn and Trevor for anyone looking for a hidden gem on the island. The home is beautifully landscaped, modern inside and very quiet day and night. They truly make you feel like family during your stay!

This is certainly one of the nicest places that we have stayed in!Trevor and Carolyn were so lovely and helpful throughout our stay.The apartment was beautifully decorated to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary! We had a lovely welcome pack of homemade cakes, fruit, snacks and bubbly!The apartment was spotlessly clean.The location couldn't be better - very close to a wonderfully quiet beach!Excellent ice cream stall nearby and various food outlets.Thoroughly recommend anyone to stay here!

Great property and location for our first time visit to Antigua

We had an excellent time staying at Carolyn's property during our first visit to Antigua. The furnishings and layout were perfect for what we needed, it was the best-stocked holiday rental I've stayed at. Location-wise we loved the mix of being more secluded than a resort/big town, but still being close to the best bits of the island (albeit you definitely need a rental car!) being able to walk 5 minutes down to the sea was just wonderful.

Great apartment in Antigu

We really enjoyed our stay with Carolyn and Trevor. They are very kind and helped us to really experience the island with lots of tips for our stay. The apartment is extremely lovingly and perfectly furnished, even in the kitchen everything you need is available. We also found the veranda with the view of the sea wonderful and experienced some great sunsets. We can highly recommend staying in this apartment if you want to experience Antigua away from the hotels. Many thanks to Carolyn and Trevor for an unforgettable vacation

The overall experience at this property and with the host was amazing. From booking, Carolyn ensured she reached out to offer information about Antigua and transportation options to the accommodation. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Carolyn and pleasantly surprised by fresh fruits and snacks for our enjoyment. She was quite warm and welcoming, and the accommodation was breathtaking. The area was clean, organized and well outfitted with cooking utensils and extra blankets and towels for use over the stay.

Fantastic hosts for our first stay in Antigua

We had the pleasure to stay at Ixora Vacational Rental with Carolyn & Trevor. We enjoyed the nice surroundings of the villa. The apartment was very well maintained and furnished (nothing is missing). Hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. Nice view of garden and sea from balcony. Better to have a car to move around. Mostly quiet when tree frogs are not too close. We would return without hesitation.

Christmas and New year's holiday

We had a great welcome Mrs Carolyn and her husband are 5*. The house has a very pleasant decor and has everything to feel like you are at home. Carolyn was always very helpful and helped us with two activities that we were having difficulty scheduling. Me, my husband and children felt very good, with the garden and a wonderful view. Access to the house is not very good, Carolyn advised us to get a jeep but we ended up renting a car, but with the care provided, it did its job 😜

Perfect family escape

Carolyn and Trevor were wonderful hosts throughout our holiday. The apartment was well stocked, spotless and comfortable. We were looking for something away from the hustle and bustle, and the apartment was the perfect escape for our family of four (kids are both pre-teens).Morning coffee on the balcony with a view of the ocean, a lovely garden to read in, a five-minute walk to the best swimming beach in Antigua — what more could one ask for? There’s a little shop, Aunt Gina’s, by the beach where you can pick up essentials and (more importantly) get great BBQ. Carolyn was incredibly helpful; any question would be responded to promptly with numerous options for restaurants, shopping, activities, etc.I’d recommend hiring a car to make it easy to explorer the rest of the Island. Would also recommend ordering run cake from Carolyn’s sister — they make delicious gifts to take back home.One of our family’s favorite vacations. We hope to be back!

A great property and a great host

We stayed at Carolyn’s place in January 24 for a week. The property is recently fitted out , with superb kitchen facilities and an excellent bathroom. The a/c is available in all major rooms separately. The property is spotlessly clean. It can sleep up to two couples . Having washing facilities was also very welcome. Breakfast and sundowners on the outside area was delightful too. The thing that makes it special is Carolyn and Trevor. They are such fantastic hosts, and care deeply about their guests having a good time. Carolyn helped us out with local dining and booked us into a local cook out in Urlings that enabled us to meet locals and eat local. As it says in the listing, a car is essential , for whilst the local beach is a short walk, most dining options aren’t. We would highly recommend staying here .

Great place

This apartment is exactly like the photos and we had a great stay. Trevor and Carolyn are the best hosts ever. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best. The garden area is beautiful and I even got to see some hummingbirds. There are trained cows on the island and every evening they make their way home past this place. I loved the cows since I am an animal lover. The kitchen in this apartment is very well equipped and having laundry in the unit is awesome. The Smart TV worked well and since we are from the USA, we were happy to be able to watch the news at home via YouTube live. We also had Netflix. The views from the front porch were beautiful and watching the sunsets was a daily must do for me. This rental is located in a close range on the islands West side where a lot of beaches are located. We had a good stay. Highly recommend. Thank you Carolyn and Trevor for being so good to us.

Antigua Gem

Carlolyn and Trevor we wonderful hosts. Their hospitality was unparalleled. We can not say enough about this property and our hosts. We would give it a five star+ rating if we could. The property is in a local neighborhood away from the resorts which adds to it’s charm. It is well laid out with two bedrooms. A very well equipped and stocked kitchen and bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable. The view from the upstairs balcony was breath taking. There is a nice little garden and sitting area. The internet was great and there is a smart TV with hundreds of channels. There was a nice beach with in a 5 minute walk from the unit. It is also close to all the south shore beaches which are spectacular. We would definitely return and look forward to another stay. We would recommend this property without any reservations.

Lovely exceptionally well equipped apartment

This is a very lovely apartment. It is one of the best equipped we have stayed in. There were lots of kind and personal touches inside and out (eg the water basin outside to wash the sand off your feet) and Carolyn and Trevor go out of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for. The views from the balcony are stunning and it is a real treat to sit out there and enjoy the views. We found the road to the property a bit of a challenge - its about 200m of mostly level but badly potholed unmade road, but if you take it slowly its fine. You really feel like you are in the middle of the community (surrounded by the sounds of roosters and dogs, not to mention the local cows). There are local small grocery shops nearby - the main supermarket is about 15 mins drive away in Jolly Harbour. (I am gluten free and it was difficult to find much GF even in the supermarket except at the Epicurean in St Johns). We could not have been made more welcome in this lovely apartment. A big thank you to Carolyn and Trevor.

Best holiday accommodation in Antigua

This property was even better than the photos. The location was spot on 5 minutes walk to the beach, very green and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The position of the accommodation was elevated and we had a beautiful view of the sea, sun rise and sun set. Our host Carolyn and her husband Trevor were wonderful, very hospitable, warm and friendly. Everything we needed we had or could ask for. Our host treated my husband and I to a night out and took us for a walk in the local area to farm land where we met a lovely farmer. To me the going the extra mile to make us feel welcome and enjoy our holiday was exceptional . Carolyn and Trevor we consider as friends we will definitely will recommend them to everyone who wants a brilliant, relaxing holiday in a home from home environment.. Super Hosts and Lovely Property

We could not praise Carolyn and Trevor high enough for their warm welcome, their generosity, hospitability and help during our 20 days staying in their lovely apartment. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They genuinely wanted us to have a good time and made sure we were not disappointed. The apartment was comfortably furnished in contemporary style. The kitchen was very well equipped. The cooking wares and utensils were all of high quality. There were plenty of towels and toiletries. We loved sitting on the veranda to watch the views and the sunsets. The garden was also a nice place to relax. Morris Bay is just 5 mins walk away. It is a lovely quiet beach and not overcrowded. Places to eat are a bit limited in the village. You do need a car. The road going up to the house is unpaved with portholes. Extra care is required for the bumps. We had a fabulous time and a memorable Caribbean experience. Thank you again to our great hosts!

Wonderful hosts, wonderful place

We had such a lovely time at Carolyn's. Her and her husband gave us the warmest welcome reception we've received. It was my grandmother's birthday on the day we arrived and our hosts were there to welcome us with lemongrass infused hot towels and a wonderful greeting. If that wasn't enough, when we entered the rental, Carolyn had taken the time to decorate it with birthday balloons and decorations in every bedroom, there was even a birthday cake for my grandmother! We were in tears (of joy). Throughout our stay, Carolyn and Trevor were available to answer any questions we had and support our ever need (like the time Carolyn ordered Antiguan breakfast and Trevor drove me to the place to pick it up). On the last day, they picked herbs from their garden for my grandmother. In addition to the fantastic hosting skills, what made this place stand out is the outside area. I spent hours in the hammock feeling like I was in heaven. The banana leaves rustling in the breeze on one side, and the ocean views on the other. Carolyn's place is close to many beaches that have beautiful sunsets (including one that is walking distance!), and we were able to see the sunset while we ate dinner on the terrace/balcony, which we had full access to. Regarding the place itself: everything was spotless, there's a washer and dryer, numerous snacks and fruit upon arrival, and a stocked kitchen with everything you need! We'll definitely be back next time we visit Antigua.

Best Service From a VRBO host Ever!

This property and its hosts aim to please their guests. Upon our arrival, we were treated to wet towels to wipe our hands. The hosts both wore the villa's logo on their customized uniforms. We then knew that we would be in for superior guest services, indeed. The unit was as photographed and advertised. The space was large with its two bedrooms. The bed was fine. The air conditioners worked well. The garden surrounding the apartment was beautiful. We spent a great deal of time on the veranda, as a constant breeze encouraged us to linger even after our morning coffee, breakfast, or dinner. Our hosts, Carolyn and her husband, Trevor, are simply a cut above the rest. Their attentiveness was unmatched. They provided great suggestions on events and places to score some local food. The location has a local neighborhood feel, but therein lies the charm. In the near distance, I could see remnants of an old sugar mill and also see the waves break against a sea barrier. On the very local front, you may see some cows roaming the streets. They know to curb themselves. Drive by slowly, and all will be well. In summary: wonderful property, excellent hosts, and apartment as advertised. Some surprise treats from the garden were additive.
