The Captains Quarters is incredibly clean, updated to perfection and beyond comfortable! We had a great time! The views of Lake Superior are incredible and the lighthouse is amazing as well! We stayed here during the May snowstorm and still loved every minute of our stay! You can see the Lake from every window in the house! The Kitchen and bathroom is brand new and perfect! We will definitely return!
This house is gorgeous! The view from every window is stunning. Sean the city manager was so kind and fantastic to work with. I didn’t realize there wasn’t a downstairs bathroom, that was a mistake on my part for not reading the listing properly, and stairs are kinda steep so make sure you’re aware, but these are minor things that should not at all impact your decision to stay here - everything with this property is worth it!
It was so fun staying in a house with such great history! I had forgotten that the house didn’t have AC so I was a little worried, but it was completely fine. Having the windows open and with Lake Superior so close, it stayed nice & cool and then we had the added bonus of hearing the waves crash! The entire home was extremely clean and Sean was very responsive to my few questions. I would definitely recommend!
We spent five nights at the Captain's Residence, and had a truly excellent stay. The house itself is well appointed and renovated with great care. The location is second-to-none; beautiful rocky shore to the south, and McCarty's Cove a short walk out the backyard. Because of its placement on the point, the wind and air flow through the house is extremely comfortable. We were incredibly comfortable and delighted. Highly recommended!
