Yurt views of Flathead Lake

The yurt is situated on a hillside overlooking the gloriously huge Flathead Lake in Somers, MT. Somers is located on the north end of the lake, next to the open space on the North Shore of the National Wildlife Refuge.

Yurt living is not for everyone but if you enjoy luxury camping in a beautiful setting, this is the place to stay.

The lake is beautiful year around. Mysterious in winter, chilly and aloof in spring, colorful in the fall and irresistible in the summer. Bring your own canoe or kayak for paddling around the lake. The yurt is perfect for relaxing in before and after enjoying the many seasonal activities of your choice.

Breakfast is included. In the yurt is a small refrigerator to hold your beverages and snacks and a electric kettle for making coffee or tea. Other meals can be had at the numerous nearby restaurants in Somers, Lakeside, Bigfork and Kalispell.

The yurt is not handicapped accessible nor suitable for toddlers due to the steps leading up to the yurt and steep hillside. No smoking or open flames inside the yurt. There is a composting toilet inside yurt. Showers provided in the main house. Picnic table and fire pit at the waters edge, wood provided. Dock and lake front is shared with property owner and resident dogs.

Yurt stay September 2019

The yurt was great! Everything was as described, beautiful views of Flathead Lake from the yurt deck. It was a really cool experience staying in the yurt, great breakfasts delivered by the host, who was also very accommodating to our needs! Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Awesome place....

my husband and I stayed here 2 nights and we loved the view and yurt was very cozy..michelle is the perfect host!! and her breakfasts were yummy!!.. only drawback for me personally was that everyone was stacked in like sardines but with them views who wouldn't want chance to live in that paradise....

the perfect montana getaway

We loved our time in the yurt and Michele was an amazing hostess! The yurt looks over gorgeous Flathead Lake and is cozy, homey, and comfy. Michele made us tasty breakfast each morning which we enjoyed from the deck area of the yurt-- she really is a fantastic cook! Thank you again Michelle for your hospitality! We would 100% come back and stay here again.

Amazing!

This was our first experience in a yurt and it was fantastic! The owner is great and very accommodating! She was also very sweet and caring! The pictures don’t even touch the amazing lake view! It truly took our breath away every morning. Just awesome! Wel will totally do this again!

Yurt overlooking Flathead Lake ~ 1.5 hrs to Glacier National Park

My partner and I stayed in this amazing yurt as the first leg of our national park trip. This was our "home-base" while visiting Glacier National Park. This yurt and host are just amazing! I wish we could have stayed here the entire week of our visit! The view was phenomenal overlooking the lake and the stars at night at just amazing. The yurt was close to town so easy access to gas, food, etc. The host was very accommodating with providing us breakfast. Since we left very early every morning to head to the park they had it prepared and ready in the fridge in the yurt the night before. The food was also amazing! The yurt itself was well equipped with electricity, space heaters, a nice bed and couch, small table, fridge, toaster oven, and a compost toilet (nice touch so we didn't have to leave the yurt at night). The host also allowed us to use the shower in the basement of their house which was very nice, especially after a long long day of hiking! We hope to some day get back to visit and stay in this yurt again as it was definitely one of our favorites!

Loved it!

Premiere location overlooking Flathead Lake! All amenities provided…great bed, excellent bedding (and I’m picky), helpful, friendly and unobtrusive host, heat if needed, on demand coffee/tea, and scheduled, scrumptious breakfasts. Wake up listening to Flathead Lake’s waves lapping the shore, and enjoy the eagles, geese and scenery from the spacious deck. I will definitely be back. Thank you Michele!!!

The View

The view is incredible!!! First time in a yurt and we loved it. Compost toilet is not a big deal. Our host brought us breakfast which was delicious. We will be back!

A very neat experience

Went out of our comfort zone and so glad we did. We will have fond memories of this unique stay. The yurt was beautiful, comfortable and the views were incredible. Wonderful breakfast was delivered each morning. Getting over not having any running water wasn't hard to do at all once you took a look at the views of the lake from the deck. Great host.

Lovely Yurt, Great View, Great Breakfast

We enjoyed wonderful sunsets from our yurt deck. The kids loved the lake access. The yurt was clean and spacious. The breakfast was soooo delicious. Our host was very nice. There was a composting toilet in the yurt (it would've been nice to have in a separate structure next to the yurt instead) which was clean and relatively odor-free. When we needed to shower our host was very flexible on the times (the shower was inside her house through a separate door, so we worked out via text when we would access it), and it was clean and spacious. If you have mobility issues, this isn't the place for you due to all the uneven steps, but otherwise a lovely stay.

Awesome Place

Our first ever yurt experience and it was wonderful. Michele was a wonderful host. Her breakfasts were outstanding. The view is lovely and we enjoyed the birds. Cedar Waxwings in a berry bush, a hummingbird, an osprey prowling around the lake and an eagle that frequented surrounding trees were highlights. We were there during the unusual heat wave and she had fans going in the yurt and we did not suffer from the heat but then we were out early and home late. One thing to note, so you can plan accordingly, is there is no running water. My biggest challenge with this was brushing my teeth. The compostable toilet well maintained and not offensive at all. Access to a shower in her house was a tad awkward, but not bad as it had a private entry. There was a simple water jug on the counter and chilled water in the nicely sized refrigerator. We also enjoyed the short walk down to the lake for a cooling swim.

Wonderful experience!

This yurt and owner is wonderful in every way. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Breakfast is truly gourmet, and the view at the lake is incomparable. This a treasure, and we loved our stay!

Beautiful views, Delicious Breakfasts

I stayed in the yurt with my boyfriend three days at the end of May, and we really enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck, the eagles and other birds, and the delicious breakfasts each morning. The yurt is essentially a furnished tent but it's cozy and well-appointed. We love camping so we appreciated hearing the outdoors, etc. Thank you Michele for a delightful stay!

Amazing Yurt!

Michele’s yurt is such a special place to stay, I highly recommend it! I stayed while I was visiting glacier national park, which was an hour drive. It was the perfect place to relax after hiking all day. Gorgeous views!! Her breakfast was absolutely delicious and everything was exactly as described. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to the area. Thank you for being a wonderful host, Michele!!

Peace on the Lake

Awesome stay

Staying at Michele's yurt was an amazing experience. It was so much better than staying at a hotel and had comforts that you wouldn't have with camping. There are so many things that made it special, such as the decor, view, breakfast, shower, etc. My friends and partner were so pleasantly surprised and they were thanking me all weekend for booking the place. A couple things to note are that during the summers there are no fires allowed, so if you're visiting then, keep that in mind. And she isn't able to rent out her kayak anymore, but she kindly recommended a place nearby on Flathead Lake. Overall, the stay was perfect for what we were looking for. The yurt was plenty warm and there are even heaters if you get chilly. Also, the windows can open so you get a full view of the lake even when inside. It's pretty cool and I highly recommend this stay! Thanks Michele!

Glamping

The yurt was a unique experience. Like camping, but not...a real bed and a delicious homemade breakfast served on the deck definitely steps it up! Beautiful view of Flathead Lake, Glacier NP within 40 min and additional trails nearby make it an excellent stay for the outdoor enthusiast. Don’t hesitate to use the shower offered by the owner.

Graduation present

It was my daughter and mine first time in a yurt and we loved it! We were visiting Flathead lake for her graduation present. The owner was so nice and the place was gorgeous, we would love to go back and she was so helpful and sweet and even fed us delicious breakfast!

I had a beautiful hillside above my home overlooking the lake and decided I wanted to put a yurt on the property to add sleeping area for my family and guests.
