Review of property at Riverbend in Virginia Beach

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Family total was 12. Knowing there were six bedrooms and could sleep at least 12, the refrigerator was way too small to accommodate any decent amount of food, thus requiring extra trips to keep the refrigerator stocked for the necessary meals. The house looked "tired". Furniture in living room was definitely ragged looking, but we were mainly busy and there wasn't enough furniture nor room to house us all at the same time. We didn't have small children so fortunately the fact that the tV was unavailable as there was either no remote or the remote had no batteries. It met our needs as the pool and the beach and other recreational activities kept us busy. I did not care for the "threat" that if there was any food or mess left behind that we would be billed additional charges. The house wasn't all that "sparkling" to begin with. Have been with my agent for over 20 years and will let her know that Ocean Sands was acceptable but really should be avoided with any of her future clients. A picnic table to have our meals was also tacky.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was great in proximity to the beach. 15-20 min drive to shopping/groceries. 30-40 mins to VB proper. Pool and outside decks were nice. House was not overly clean, it appears as though the cleaning crew did the bare minimum and there’s an abundance of flies. Pool had not been cleaned upon arrival (but pool guy did come later in the evening on check in day). We noted several concerns upon arrival and the maintenance crew arrived on Monday to look at several of them. They were awesome and very helpful. Told us to call them back for any concerns. They even brought us ice since the Ice maker was broken. The grass hadn’t been cut in probably 2 weeks in the yard. The metal staircase to the bedrooms downstairs are not for the faint of heart. They are tight and narrow. This house needs some serious TLC. The outside is in rough shape, there are bugs in all the windows, and the deck and dock could use some updating. All in all we had a really nice time but for the price we paided we expected the house to be cleaner and in better overall shape. I mean it wasn’t the worst place we’ve stayed but it was not super clean or well kept.

As a family, we enjoyed our stay for the most part trying to make accommodations for our wheelchair bound dad. Unfortunately, There was a plumbing issue that caused us to have to leave 1 day early. It happened in the lowest level bathroom toilet. It became clogged and when plunged, the sewage came out of the shower floor into the bathroom and hallway. It caused an inconvenience of movement for my family & the city had to come out to fix it overnight and a plumber to address then house keeping came the next day. As a result, our mom, dad and his nurse had to endure the smell and cover the sewage with towels until it was addressed which took a while. Troy the realtor was responsive and Courtney the housekeeper was personable & cleaned up the area. I appreciate that that they both tried their best to meet our needs. I didn’t expect to have that emergency while caring for my disabled dad on his vacation to see family who traveled far to see him & my mom. I hope to return with my family again because it was perfect for the members who came but I hope that this doesn’t happen again!

Nice place. Love the porches and dock. The kitchen was very well equipped and so nice we could bring our dog. The pool was fun as well. I would suggest fixing the water pressure in the bathroom sinks and clarifying the correct bed sizes. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

The house was minimally clean. Cooking Utensils in the drawers were still dirty. No forks. The house outside needs a good power washing cobwebs are everywhere. The grill was not cleaned from whoever cooked on it last. The location was great and we as a family did have a wonderful time.

Overall the house was a great place to stay at and was a very fun home to hang in with some friends.

It was a lovely home to stay in. Was very versatile with everyones needs and desires. Great place to hang in with both family and friends. The property owners were great people to communicate with and highly recommend this place to all ages.

Great stay, close to the beach!

We decided to go for a guys trip and the house was fantastic. Nicholette was a great host and very easy to communicate with regarding any issues. Location was perfect with a short walk to the beach. Pool was great and place can accommodate a good size. Game room and decks were perfect for relaxing at the house.

Amazing week in Sandbridge

Our family and friends have visited Sandbridge, VA during the third week of August during each of the last few years. Calming Waters was perfectly sized for our group, with a beautiful pool and direct access to the channels/bay. It’s located on a secluded street and just a short walk To that beautiful beach.

The house was perfect. My only complaint would be that the pool was not warm. We were only minutes from the beach and it was very private. Would definitely recommend.

Calming Waters

As advertised, would stay again. Pool needed cleaning and there was some signs of not being completely cleaned inside but nothing to deter the good times.

Fun in Sandbridge

We had a fun week in Sandbridge The house was a good fit for our family. Love the DR table, it easily fit our group of 12, the kitchen was functional and had the necessities. The pool was perfect after a day at the beach and was kept clean throughout the week. Needs some interior paint and new LR furniture (pretty dirty), but overall a good beach house.

Great vacation

Our family wanted to have a family vacation and we were able to accomplish this , the property was beautiful , great location , management was very helpful in all aspects and the property was clean and cozy. Love that we had a pool and also were close to the beach. We had a great time. Nicollette was very nice and helful and many ways, above and beyond with her guidance and also was responsive when we needed her. Thank you for all your help!

Beach Retreat

This property was just as listed. Very comfortable and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Check in was hassle free. The home was clean and neat. Multiple steps were not great for my arthritis but I managed. Pool was clean and they have plenty of kid toys and supplies for children of all ages. My son stayed in the pool even though the weather was not great. Neighbors were very friendly. I would definitly return to this home.

Family Vacation

Our family stayed here for 9 days for our family vacation. There was plenty of room for the 13 of us. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials we needed. The game room in the basement was great and enjoyed by all. We loved the covered porch over looking the canal waterway. The pool was nice and refreshing. Nicholette was great to work with and communicate with if we had a question about something. The walk to the beach was a short walk. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the location. Only suggestion I would give is to have a pool cleaning service come part way through the week to do a cleaning. It was a beautiful home and we would definitely stay here again.
