He purchased a small island off the Tofino shore, calling it “Dream Island.” According to local folklore, Tibbs was known to climb to the top of a lone spruce tree on his island and play his clarinet—a charmingly unique figure in Tofino's history.

This cozy, recently renovated studio apartment is situated on the first floor of a charming building in downtown Tofino, offering stunning ocean views and convenient accessibility. Ideal for couples or solo travelers, the space now features updated appliances in a fully stocked kitchen, making it perfect for preparing meals or enjoying your morning coffee while soaking in the beautiful scenery.
The newly renovated bathroom includes a luxurious soaker tub—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. In the living area, you’ll find a new pull-out couch, adding flexibility and comfort for lounging or accommodating additional guests. BAKERY: There is a delicious bakery located right in the building where you can enjoy a morning coffee or fresh baked goods—be sure to visit Savary Island Pie Company on the first floor!

Outside, you’ll find a grassy area with stone picnic tables, perfect for relaxing, enjoying a fish taco, and watching the tides roll in. Fred Tibbs is conveniently located in the heart of town, within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and tour guides for those seeking adventure.



Host Rules:

Renter's Agreement: Guests must sign the Renter's Agreement to confirm their reservation.
Age min: must be 25 years or older to book.
Max Occupancy: 3 guests total including babies and infants.
During peak summer season (June 15 - Sept 15), 3 night minimum and all bookings must be back-to-back to avoid gaps. If you receive a "host unavailable" message despite seeing availability, please contact us. Our booking system has specific rules and may require manual adjustments.
3 night minimum stay for all Canadian Statutory Holidays.

We offer discounted rates on month long stay ONLY during our low season (Dec-Feb)
Pet Policy: Sorry no pets allowed-Strict.
Onsite shared laundry facility available upon request ( pay per load)
Strict Quiet Hours: 10pm to 8am - please be respectful of the neighbours and locals!
Cancellation Policy: We offer a 30 day cancellation policy with no charge. If you cancel without the required days notice you will not receive a refund for your reservation.
Accidental Damage Protection: Accidental Damage Protection is included in the total cost of your reservation—there is no additional fee after booking, as it is automatically applied at the time of purchase. This coverage protects against accidental damages up to $1,000 that may occur during your stay.
Please note: This protection does not apply to damages caused by parties, unauthorized events, or negligent behaviour. It is strictly intended for unintentional mishaps that may happen while you're staying in the home.

We had an amazing time staying here. The condo was ideally located in the heart of Tofino, on a quiet street overlooking the harbour. The view out the spacious windows was breathtaking and it was a short walk to all the amenities (restaurants, grocery store, adventure and surf businesses etc). The hosts (or company) were very welcoming and attentive. We couldn’t have asked for better and would definitely stay here again.

Clean, cozy and convenient location to walk to restaurants, town. The property management has excellent communication and responded to requests and feedback quickly. Upon arriving, there was a welcome card and some local coffee. The bed was comfy and I would definitely stay here again.
