Our condo is a combination of styles of Restoration Hardware meets Crate & Barrel. It is great form and wonderful function and very comfortable. From the moment you walk into our eastern corner condo, you will be inspired.

Your view is the Gulf of Mexico from all the windows, and then, the bonus and dynamic view is that of the Gulf State Park Lakes -- Lake Shelby, and the wetlands that are in the state park. It is simply breathtaking. When you see the views and bright light that a corner condo affords you, you will never go back to renting any other type of condo. Our views are also unobstructed -- which is not always the case with a corner condo. Ours make you feel like you are floating above it all!

Our set up is this: King in the master (with custom linens); Queen in BR 2; Twin bunks in BR 3. There is a sleeper sofa in the Living room. Our condo sleeps 8. The bunks are really for kids 150 lbs and less. We have TV's in all of the rooms and a nice flat screen in the Living room.

Our kitchen is fit for a great cook! Filtered water. Thick Granite. Stainless Steel appliances. Good pots and pans and many great items make the kitchen great if you'd like to cook, or simply stare out at the Gulf and have a cocktail.

Please note: MAIN RENTER MUST BE 25 and must be present for the rental.

Weekend getaway

We stayed in the condo from Sept 19-22, 2014. The condo was immaculate. The bunk room now has a single twin with a trundle. The condo is within walking distance from 10 different restaurants. It is perfectly located. The corner balcony is very large and you have great views of the beach. It was our first stay in Gulf Shores and this condo made us think about going again in the summer.

Beautiful views and great condo!

We stayed in this condo from June 30, 2014-July 6, 2014. This was our first time staying here. All together we had 9 people, which consisted of our 3 children, spouses of 2 of those, a friend of the other, and our 9 month old grand son. This condo was perfect for all of us! It was very well equipped, although I would suggest adding a bit more bowls, big plates, and the smaller forks and spoons. There were lots of linens and extra blankets, but could use a few extra towels and wash cloths. All the beds were very comfortable, especially the master bedroom! The small beds in the little room were a bit in the way. I would consider going back to a more sturdy bunk bed, although my daughter and her friend loved the privacy and quietness of the room! Altogether the condo worked out great for us!

I can not say enough about the views! They are absolutely amazing! The views in the morning and in the evening are just breathtaking! We ate breakfast outside on the balcony every single morning and when we ate dinner in, we were on the balcony again. You can see the lake of the Gulf State Park and a great view of the pier. The view of the ocean and beach is wonderful. The view at night is just as nice because of all the lights. You can see the sunset on the front balcony and it's beautiful!

This has to be the best location, within walking distance to just about everything. Sea N Suds has very good food and great pinacolodas and strawberry daiquiris ( if you like those ) and their prices are great! We walked to The Hangout and all the souvenir shops. We tried breakfast at the Island Pancake House a few condos up but did not like it. If you like steak, an absolutely must is to go to Diamond Jim's and Mrs. Donna's in Orange Beach. It's before you get to The Wharf on the left. The big steak they have there is big enough for 2 people and it is the best steak we have ever had! But just warning you, if you eat that steak, you may never be able to eat one anywhere else! Yes, it's that good!

This condo is a 5 star for us and we will definitely be back next year! If we don't move to the beach before then!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your kind review of our property. I love summertime in this condo. You do see the sun rise and the sun set from the balcony! We eliminated the bunk beds in this unit because of the comfort level and ability of them to sleep adults if necessary. I appreciate knowing more towels would help and made my cleaners aware of this. We try to stock our unit with everything you think you need and everything you don't know you need! I am glad you are coming back next year and we love repeat renters like you. Great Location

As snowbirds, we spent 6 weeks at this condo. It was very much as advertised and we enjoyed our time there. The kitchen was well equiped, the beds comfortable, lots of linens and towels, and they have a great workout room downstairs. The location of the building is great, as you can walk to a number of restaurants and shopping, plus be on the beach. The corner unit provides lots of light and good views to the east. Dana was good to work with, very prompt in responding to all questions.

We found the living room furniture a bit tired, but quite functional. The carpet is definitely in need of replacement. The down side of the corner unit facing east is that you lose the sun by about 1.30 pm, and see no sunset at all. In the summer this shade might be welcome, but as snowbirds we wanted sun!

The other down side is the location at the end of the building. The master bedroom faces the gulf and the view is quite lovely. The back bedroom and bunk room have windows onto the outside corridor. A couple of different nights we had severe thunderstorms, and the noise and whistling was incredible - we tried ducktaping the entrance door, as it was not a good seal, and that helped a little, but still very noisy. A big part of the problem was simply that the wind blew around the end of the building, and our door was right there - very noisy. Lastly, the outside corridor lights shone brightly through the white slat blinds, so never really dark - blackout blinds or cardboard on the window (which is what we did) solve the problem.

Given the lighting issue and noise in the back bunkroom, I am not sure how suitable the unit is for young children. It is just fine for one or two couples, but I would recommend new carpeting.

The issue of wind was based upon the caliber of storms we had while you were here (unprecedented) and were also happening in ALL units in Seawind, not just ours. Snowbird needs are entirely different that summer rental needs. Based upon winter sun, you had perfect views (from the bed in the master) of the sunrises. In the summer, sunsets are great from the balcony (based upon position of the sun) but the unit is not hot from sun pounding on it all day, so you are correct that your needs were different as snowbirds. We are currently working to change the back bunk room. That room has the blind and the bunks. We are planning to change that to a trundle and bed in March along with change/update the window treatment. Thank you for your review of our condo. Dana

Excellent vacation spot for your family trip!

My family and I stayed at the Seawind for our recent Gulf Shores vacation. I can't say enough great things about this condo! The rooms were big and beautifully furnished and the kitchen had all the things we needed to cook for ourselves! The corner unit is just beautiful and the views are amazing. We had afternoon shade and could read and watch the waves from the balcony for hours at a time.

Our two year old daughter couldn't get enough of the pool. The kiddie pool is exceptional - never deeper than 2 feet, lots of water sprays and jets. She had a blast.

The fitness center was also really great and very well-equipped. We were really impressed with the equipment and set up. That's such a rare find in a vacation condo!

The location couldn't be better. Just a half mile from the turn off of 59, right next to Sea N Suds. We really loved how easy it was to get in and out and that the parking deck was covered!

We can't say enough great things about this vacation. We'll definitely be back next year at the same spot!!
