This beautiful 5 bedroom/4.5 baths home has plenty of space for the large family/ get to gether. Situated directly on the Sound, this home provides spectacular views in the morning while enjoying breakfast on the large deck while watching dolphins swim by or have cocktails on the deck watching a fabulous sunset in the evening. This home has 3 master king size bedrooms each with its own private bath and two twin size bedrooms, each featuring 2 twin beds and sharing one bathroom. In addition to the spacious home, visitors will also benefit from private the deepwater dock with room for 2 boats. It is only a block to the ocean & the white powder sand of this unspoiled5 mile long Beach. Although you are only 3 miles from shopping, restaurants, etc. you will hate to leave the island life.
This home will be a favorite of any one who loves the water & all types of water sports & activities. Boating, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Fishing & crabbing are all possible from the dock & just a short block away is the ocean for surfing, wind surfing, surf fishing or just relaxing & reading a book or enjoying the fabulous unspoiled beach with its white sandy beach.

Very well equipped home/ kitchen. Double ovens, down draft cook top, stainless steal side by side refrigerator, triple sink, with RO water for drinking. There is a bar area close to the living room with a sink, small refrigerator & ice maker.

Exclusive Private Island! Figure Eight Island is one of North Carolina's best kept secrets. This private island located on the Atlantic Ocean remains untouched by modern commercialization. A Gate House and a swing drawbridge limited access to assure a private and peaceful vacation. Visitors have access to the beach, boat ramps, bikes, and tennis courts. This is a great place for golf, fishing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. Historic Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach are located just up the street where the arts flourish and the night life has some pizzazz. There are local museums showcasing the history of the coast. Figure 8 Island is a beautiful coastal community, but visitors from Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York are excited to find out that it can be reached in the same amount of travel time as the popular Outer Banks region and Figure 8 doesn't have the in season crowds. The climate is considerably warmer in the spring, fall, and winter, providing a better environment for year-round golf, tennis, and other popular outdoor activities with fewer crowds.

This home was a perfect spot for our family during a wedding weekend! The views are incredible; the interior furnishings are beautiful and comfortable, and the host was friendly and accommodating to all our questions and requests. I highly recommend this lovely vacation rental.

Wonderful!

Our family had a wonderful stay at 3 Sandy Point. The location is excellent with easy access to the beach and the bike path . We saw beautiful sunsets from the spacious deck almost every evening. The interiors are well appointed and comfortable with a cook's kitchen. We look forward to returning!

Great house for 10 people!

The house was very accomdating for our family of 10 people. We cook and the kitchen was very well supplied with cooking utensils,pots, etc. Sunsets on the sound were gorgeous!

Thanksgiving on Figure Eight

We had a large group of family and friends for Thanksgiving week. The house was perfect for this type of getaway. We cooked thanksgiving dinner for 15 without a problem. Everyone loved the visit. Marsh views and sunsets were spectacular.

Timeless house with great floor plan and views

House was everything as described and more. Floor plan is great. The sunset views are amazing. Owner was extremely responsive and helpful. There’s lots of room to spread out. There’s a little den near the bedrooms that can be closed off. My 12 year old son put an air mattress in it to have his own room, even though there were more than enough beds. Everyone was comfortable on our multigenerational vacation.

Room to spread out

My three generations enjoyed two full weeks at Figure Eight Island and never felt like we were on top of one another or in each other's way. This is a huge house with lots of room to spread out! As promised, we did see dolphins dancing in the channel behind the house and our children enjoyed late afternoon swims off the dock. The kitchen is well-stocked and we cooked most of our meals in, spending long days on the beach and leisurely evenings in the house. We had excellent communication with the owner and she was responsive to the issues we encountered. The biggest negative is that the basement bedrooms are musty; I would recommend keeping both dehumidifiers running all the time. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity to vacation with all our family together.

The deck!

Our family had always stayed in oceanfront properties. This year we made reservations only a month or so prior to vacation, so chose this property on the inland side, and boy are we glad we did! The house has an enormous, beautiful deck overlooking the inland waterway. spent every possible minute out there, from morning coffee to wine at sunset. It was quiet and peaceful, exactly what I needed. The owner Bunnie is extremely responsive. For example, during our first morning a next door neighbor’s HVAC started making a loud continuous noise (they were not staying there at the time). Bunnie was on it immediately contacting everyone, and very soon the noise went away. We really appreciate the peacefulness of the property and attention of the owner.

Magical month

Wow, I don't even know where to begin there is so much to share. Truly one of the most memorable and relaxing months I have spent in my lifetime. Every detail of the house was fantastic. From the soft comfortable sheets to the well appointed kitchen that made life and cooking so much fun. Every evening was a celebration of the sun saying goodbye . The sky told a beautiful story that had me wanting more. And the owner was extremely accommodating and was always available to see if there was anything we needed. She had fantastic recommendations For local restaurants and fun things for the kids to do. The kids were immersed in Sea life. Long walks on the beach finding all sorts of exciting and rare shells. I've never seen so many Sandollar's. Looking forward to coming back next year to the same house same time

Awesome location for fishing and beach

Owner of this property was the most helpful in suggestions from fishing to eating locations etc. Very short walk to the beach and that was awesome as so few people on the beach so truly a relaxing experience. Great area to dock the boat and run out to fish at anytime. Actually fishing from the dock was great too.

Awesome house and views, but humid downstairs

This house worked well for our family of three generations - lots of space, GORGEOUS views, nice porch, good dock, close beach access, and big dining table. Even though the house is dated, the kitchen is stocked with every serving dish imaginable! The biggest drawback is the downstairs is very humid. There is one dehumidifier that can't quite handle the job. The situation could be improved with a dehumidifier in each of the 3 bedrooms that is permanently installed so the water bucket doesn't need to be emptied every day.

A wonderful stay on Figure 8 Island!

Our stay at the Blanken cottage was wonderful! The house is in the best location right on the Intracoastal, across the street from the beach and a block walk to the tennis courts. We easily got equipment delivered and went kayaking and paddle boarding every day from our own private dock. Bunnie, the owner, was super helpful and responsive with any and all questions and concerns. The house has everything you need - plenty of room and a great deck to watch the sunset!

Perfect Location On Figure 8 Island

I enjoy watching the boats so this was the perfect location for us. Sunset views on the sound with sunrise views from the beach just a block away. My children enjoyed kayaking on the Sound and checking out the fabulous beach. Great walking/bike trails nearby. My husband is a great cook and enjoyed the well appointed kitchen. Figure Eight Island is beautiful. The house has a great open living/dining room and is great for a family. The beds, sheets, and pillows were very comfortable. I gave 4 stars for cleanliness as the carpet (in areas) needed a little cleaning but everything else was spotless. I can’t wait to go back in the spring or summer and rent a boat to enjoy the sound and intracoastal waterway. Truly a delightful vacation!

Great place to vacation during a pandemic

We had a wonderful week. Figure 8 island is divine. We loved staying on the sound as we had the ability to boat, jet ski, kayak and SUP. The beach is a short distance to walk and idyllic. Also, easy to social distance with so much privacy. The house was large and comfortably fit two families of 4 adults and 5 children. Kitchen well stocked and easy to prepare meals in.

Boaters Delight

This was the third time we have stayed here and it was the best. We are into boating and fishing and the new dock (courtesy of Florence) was great. The house is spacious and very comfortable with plenty of room for our family— Six adults and six children. Beautiful sunsets every evening!

Great family house and great location

What a great house and location. The house was very clean and had just about every possible item in the kitchen for any feast. The upstairs is very spacious with a wonderful deck for viewing the sunset. The downstairs is a perfect area for the kids to sleep and hang out. It has its own living area with kitchenette. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.

Wonderful family vacation house

This wonderful house combines deep water access to the Waterway with a one minute walk to the ocean. The house itself is spacious and open with lots of gathering places for family and friends. It is fully equipped and very clean. Living in it is a real pleasure. It's not a soulless vacation rental, it's a family home. The views from the back deck across the Waterway are spectacular, with magnificent sunsets. The deep water dock is perfect for fishing trips, water sports, taking a cruise on the Waterway, or exploring the wonderful marshes. Wildlife abounds. Dolphins play at sunset. Then you can take a short walk (yes, really, one minute) to a magnificent pristine beach that stretches as far as the eye can see in each direction. Great for shelling, sand castles, surf fishing, surfing, swimming in the breakers and just walking. This is a private island so everyone has plenty of room. Wilmington is only a few minutes drive from the peace and quiet of Figure 8 Island. It offers all kinds of entertainment, amenities and services, and excellent shopping and restaurants. Wilmington is one of the best kept secrets in the Carolina's. At the end of our vacation everyone had the same reaction - "When can we come back again?"
