Our weekend getaway in the cabin at Back Creek Farms was absolutely fantastic. Enjoyed every second of our stay in the cozy cabin along Back Creek. Perfect spot to simply sit on the porch and listen to the creek flow by. Every possible need one could think of was provided for and it’s a must stay during the Highland County Maple Festival!
Valerie and Pat were extremely accomodating and made us feel right at home. They took the time to showcase their syrup making processes. The cabin sits right on the creek and there was a nice big field behind for exploring with our little one. Great weekend escape. Thank you two, again.
The cabin was comfortable and well appointed. The only complaint was the neighbors dogs barking almost non-stop most of the day Saturday but other than that, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. We will definitely book this location again.
The cabin was beautiful, clean and very cozy. We had a great time enjoying the view of the mountains the fresh air. The cabin had everything you needed outside and inside.
We had a wonderful time at this location and would recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded get away. You will not have cellphone service, but the wifi connection is strong. The hot tub was very clean with a great view. We enjoyed watching the sun set over the mountains and star gazing. The wood burning stove will heat the whole main area of the house, and adds wonderful ambiance. The host was gracious and attentive. We had the opportunity to purchase some artisan maple syrup from the Sugar Shack on the property and would highly recommend it.
We greatly enjoyed the cabin and the area. It was perfect to disconnect. The pictures don’t do justice of the cabin and the area. We enjoyed star gazing, walking on the property mowed path, lunch at the Amish store and just enjoying the birds and wildlife.
Had a great time staying at the cabin at Back Creek. The Maple festival was happening and we had such a great time at events and time to relax by the creek.
Perfect location and super cozy cabin. Ideal for a weekend getaway from the city. Super clean and tidy, great amenities and very friendly hosts. Almost forgot the maple syrup, delicious so be sure to pick some up from their small shop near the cabin!
Pat has lived on Back Creek his entire life and has been making maple syrup since he was eight years old. Living in Highland County has taught him to literally 'live off the land'. Pat and Valerie built and decorated the Cabin themselves.
Why they chose this property
After purchasing 'the sugarbush' to make maple syrup from the trees located there, we decided to share this little piece of heaven with others!
