The cottage has been remodeled to offer all the essentials you would want for a perfect weekend getaway.
Being an interior designer from Belgium, I've tried to furnish the cottage with a clean country feel, that is warm and inviting. It's not what you will find typically in the Middleburg area, as it has a more European feel to it, but it has been completely remodeled and offers everything you would need as if you were staying at a boutique hotel with a kitchen.

The house is cute tucked away in the woods very private. The house definitely needs screens on the windows. The HVAC works great and the water pressure was really good. However, the owner/host was quite challenging to work with. Make sure you're very clear with your requests or concerns upfront allow allowing lots of time to get answers from this owner. I asked from the get-go for an extended stay because I was just purchasing a new dog in the area and needed a little bit more time before I checked out. The owner was not not very supportive of allowing me to stay for even a half an hour or an hour later on checkout day... It caused me quite a challenge to check out on time. I won't stay there again.

Guest threatened to leave me a nasty review if I did not grant her a late checkout, I explained to her that we had an arrival the day of her departure and that I needed the time to clean the cottage.
Wife and I had the urge to get away from the city for a weekend. This place had it all, great space for two, and an unreal location from town. Will be coming back!
The property is located in a very quiet , peaceful setting. We enjoyed watching deer, horses and many birds. We found miles of gravel roads through scenic countryside to ride our bikes.Everything we needed was available at this property.
Charming guest house. Woke to several deer staring at my front door! Would move in forever if possible. The area was beautiful and peaceful. The drive in requires vigilance as road narrow and windy.
This is our second time renting the cottage where we chose to celebrate our 5th anniversary and had the most amazing weekend relaxing and enjoying the peace and calm of the country.
The location could not have been more convenient to the center of town since it only took us 10 min to be in the middle of shopping and restaurants.
The cottage is perfectly decorated and has all the amenities you would want (high-speed internet, cable, fully stocked kitchen).
We will be back.
Lovely clean and cozy place surrounded by beautiful countryside! Very easy arrival and communication, it was the perfect warm retreat during a busy holiday!

About the host
Hosted by Natascha Folens
I'm an equestrian and an Interior designer from Belgium, living in the US. I have 5 airbnbs and I'm new to the VRBO platform. I've been a Superhost on Airbnb for 8 years. I love to travel and stay and always ponder why I'm drawn to certain hotels more than others. What "experience" do they offer that's above and beyond a regular hotel. This is exactly what I try to offer at my vacation rentals. Whether it's a detail of a Nespresso machine, or a feather duvet, it all comes together when you're staying at a beautiful property that's been thoughtfully designed, in a great location with great views.
Why they chose this property
Comfortable bed with feather duvet, darkening roman shades, hardwood floor, full kitchen including dishwasher and microwave a rain shower in the bathroom and a big screen TV with comfortable seating in the living room. This cottage is on the same location as the listing on VRBO called Hunters Retreat VRBO2995662 and can be rented in combination to sleep up to 8 people.
What makes this property unique
There is parking right in front of the cottage, from time to time you may see our horses when we are staying in the main house. Feel free to walk down the path to goose Creek for a nice nature walk or bring a picnic. In summer, you will also be able to enjoy a nice cocktail on the lounge chairs on the deck overlooking our neighbour's pastures or have dinner outside as there's also a dining table with two chairs . The cottage is on our private road so there will be no traffic when you are there.
