Great stay!

Beautiful home and property. Very clean, very quiet. The amenities were lovely and allowed for a restful getaway. Easy communication with host. Definitely recommend!

Great house!!

A couple of my cousins and our daughters went to a concert at point of the Bluffs. We found this house and it was perfect! It was beautiful, so clean, and had tons of little extra touches that we loved! We will definitely book again.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

Perfect blend of old farm house meets modern amenities and style. Kitchen is the heart of the house and perfect for cooking a family meal. It's open to the dining room where we sat together and ate while looking out at nature. Best part is the huge deck with the string lights, fire pit, hot tub and hammocks all overlooking the grassy field. I highly recommend staying here.

Very nice, comfy, peaceful

Home appears recently remodeled with modern amenities, and beds were super comfy, and having three king beds was a nice feature. Host communication was friendly and frequent. Having a stocked refrigerator with some morning essentials was definitely a plus as the location is quite remote. Surrounding forest and private pond made for a very restful stay away from the bustling towns during busy holiday weekend. Three minor topics that prevented me from giving it a five star rating include: 1) There was no Smart TV (or any TV) in the home, although we should have noticed that one was not included in the listing. Smart TVs are a common amenity that no one should even have to think about, especially in a luxury property such as this one, 2) Five split AC units allowed for customizing temperatures in each room however, sharing only one a/c remote control for the entire home was very inconvenient, 3) we did not use the hot tub as it did not appear to be a policy to change out the water between guests, instead there were strict rules on usage, and warnings about a $350 refill fee if needed. Hot tubs should be drained and refilled after each guest stay. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, those three topics would prevent us from renting here again. Thank you!

Regarding the TV, we acknowledge that Smart TVs are indeed a common amenity in luxury properties. We're happy to inform you that we're addressing this issue.Coincidentally, a guest contacted us last night before booking to request a TV for their upcoming stay, and we were happy to honor her request and will be installing one by early August. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by having only one remote for all AC units. We're implementing a new system to ensure there are remotes available for every room with an AC unit. We appreciate your feedback about the hot tub and would like to clarify our policies. We change the water according to industry standards to ensure hygiene and safety. Our rules are designed to maintain water quality while balancing guest enjoyment, environmental considerations, and affordability. Refilling the hot tub after each guest stay would significantly increase our operational costs, which would unfortunately result in higher prices for our guests. By implementing our current system, we're able to keep our rates more affordable while still ensuring a clean and safe experience. We're pleased to report that since implementing these rules, we've only had to charge a guest for refilling once. Most of our guests, like yourself, take excellent care of the tub. The $350 fee mentioned reflects the actual cost charged by local companies for professional cleaning and refilling when necessary. Our hot tub rules include showering before use, keeping food and drinks away, proper use of the bromine floating apparatus, keeping the cover on when not in use, and not adding anything or adjusting the chemicals. These guidelines help us maintain a clean, safe, and enjoyable hot tub experience for all our guests. We're always open to feedback and continuously review our policies to ensure they meet hygiene standards, guest expectations, and affordability. I’ve always felt a deep connection to this area; some of my fondest childhood memories involve visiting grandparents nearby, spending my days exploring the outdoors and marveling at the local wildlife. When I decided to make this my home, I searched diligently for a place that offered true peace—somewhere far from city lights and busy roads. I fell in love with this property because of its seclusion on an abandoned road, the privacy it provides, and its incredible, spring-fed pond. Restoring this property has been a true labor of love. After it sat abandoned for seven years, I dedicated myself to cleaning up the land and rehabbing the house to reflect my values. I replaced the old coal furnace with a clean, efficient mini-split system and recently added an EV charger. My goal is to make this land a sanctuary for both guests and wildlife. By prioritizing native plantings and protecting the meadow, I’ve created a refuge where you might spot otters, foxes, deer, or even a bobcat. I’m passionate about healthy living and sharing that restorative energy with my guests. From the air-purifying house plants to the "hummingbird café" I’ve cultivated right outside the dining room windows, every detail is designed to help you disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with nature.
