Saturday to Saturday stay. Villa Dos (Second Home/Two Homes) is a striking 5/6 bedroom oceanfront vacation villa situated 9.5 miles south of town on Cozumel's premier south end of the island, on coveted sandy beaches and near the best dive sites. Villa Dos is pleasantly comfortable and cozy but stately as well.

We brought most of our furnishings from the US with a moving company. Our family had been in the high-end furniture retail business since 1948. We were so surprised that the whole semi trailer full actually made here!!! We tried to not miss a thing in the design of this rental property with its immaculate decorations with an eclectic blend of furnishings, including contemporary, traditional and oriental designs. Not to brag but we feel no details have been overlooked in this architectural wonder.

Villa Dos has 3 stories plus a large covered terrace as well as spacious poolside patio. The guest area has 5 bedrooms, 6 baths, 2 living areas, 1 main kitchen and 2 kitchenettes, large oceanfront swimming pool, huge covered terrace, incredible ocean views and is strategically located on Cozumel's finest beaches (San Francisco and Paradise Beach). Step outside and onto your dive boat - most dive sites are within a 5 minute boat ride. Outstanding sunsets guaranteed nightly - have your camera ready! We have video, on our Facebook page VillaDosCozumel, if you'd like to hear what the area sounds like. And we can do a live video any time if you just ask us. A party of 2 and up to 12 guests will enjoy the ultimate in comfort both inside and out at Villa Dos. Guests particularly like the option of congregating in the main living room or pool area or seeking solitude in the other living areas or private suite. Each floor has a separate entry so guests can join the crowd–or escape it–depending on their mood. Guests, whether it's 2 of you or 12 of you, get to enjoy the entirety of the ground and pool (second) level of Villa Dos, all 5 bedrooms (6th optional sleeping area can be made up in the den) and 6 full baths, as it is and never rented to separate parties or as suites individually.

We have numbered the areas just for organization and to help you and our staff identify each room/area easily.

Ground floor:

1 queen bed, private full bath
*Optional bedroom, 6th sleeping area, not private but in the den: 2 single beds used as day bed can be made up as 2 twins or 1 king; additional private full bath up one floor or use one of the other two bathrooms for suite 5.

Second floor/main pool level:

2 queen beds in one bedroom, private full bath
1 full bath for living area (and for use by the den sleepers in suite Five)
Full kitchen and living and dining area with full ocean view

3rd separate/top floor:
Owner’s quarters and administrative offices. The owner's area takes up the entire separate top floor. Although we are not traditional inn keepers, we are a phone call away if you need to ask us something. If we are not in town at the time, then we have our onsite caretaker available. We do not share any living spaces with you, use the pool or even open our curtains while you are having the time of your life. No need to 'keep it down'. We hope you enjoy our home like it's your own.

Outside and pool area:
The elegant oceanfront swimming pool was designed to provide incredible views from the house, patios and from the swimming pool itself. One end of the pool is crescent shaped with built-in seating from which you have unrestricted views of the beach and magnificent blue waters of the Caribbean. The unique infinity-edge pool creates an illusion that the pool and ocean are connected. Barbecue and seating areas and freshwater shower have been incorporated into the poolside patio area. The large Oceanfront terrace provide superb ocean/pool views and are ideal for morning coffee or al fresco dining for 10.

Beautiful home layout and location.

Property is well maintained. Photo's listed on VRBO don't show the current size of foliage around the property. the owner living on the property is very gracious to show the property upon your arrival, but you are unaware she is on site during the rest of the stay. I would most definitely recommend this property to others! Beautiful sunsets, snorkeling available in warm water right out the front door!

Perfect spot

This is an awesome house on the perfect spot. Your own little private beach, but only steps away from tourism beach clubs during the day. Which gives you a lot of things to choose from during the day on the beach: paddle boarding, kayaking, parasailing, small catamaran sailing and guided tours. During the day beach bars and restaurants, but they all close at 5 pm. If you want to eat out in the evening you have to go to town. The good thing about that is, that in the evening it is all nice and quiet again. You can snorkel right off the beach, but I would also recommend a guided snorkeling tour. We also caught fish right in front off the house and at night saw blue octopus while walking with flashlights. Some in our group went deep see fishing and swimming with the dolphins, which were both wonderful. The people are very friendly and not too pushy. We were with 12 in the house, ages ranging from a 1 year old up to 59. All the rooms are very sound proof which was wonderful with the kids taking naps during the day. And everything was very roomy, so we never felt crowded. The pool was nice size and a big plus to have. We did rent 2 cars, which was very handy for shopping and exploring the island. But for youth who may not drive there the taxi service is very good and inexpensive. Tip, bring your own snorkel set and swim shoes. The beach is sandy, but getting in is rocky, so fish to see. A big thank you to Nicole who responded always very quick with emails and to Janie who was right there to solve any little problem. We had a wonderful time!

Wonderful Beautiful Vacation

Cozumel is a great, quick, safe getaway...few hours from home...Villa Dos is a beautiful, peaceful house, located a few miles out of town...right on the beach with its on private pool...with an America resident on hand... that makes things very helpful... but only if needed...otherwise you never know she is around. We visit each year and this year we took relatives with us and they loved it. We got a massage on the beach as well as parasailed right at the house. Drove downtown and shopped couple nights...drove round island sightseeing...even got to go uptown Halloween nite and experience the island celebration (which they call Day of the Dead) very interesting. The weather was perfect...warm with a good breeze. Can't wait to go back.

Party central house

The house itself was a 4 star. The beach and area around the house is 2 stars. If you are looking for non stop partying, then this is the place for you. I believe there is a little failure in properly advertising this house’s surrounding area. The pictures showing the left side of the house down the beach, fail to show that it is full of giant inflatable bouncy things as far down the beach as you can see. 50 to 100 yard sections of beach have been turned into cruise ship excursions. Each section is divided by buoy’s and they pack as many inflatables as they can into that section. This is what we saw when we looked out from our patio. Every morning around 9:00, our private little section of beach became crowded with people that proceeded to drink all day long and leave all their cups, garbage and cigarette butts right in front of the house. We constantly had to kick people out of the cute beach chairs that belong to the rental house and tell them to stop climbing the palm trees. About 5:00 we could then enjoy our so called private beach area. But only after we picked up the trash left behind. We had people changing their clothes on the side of the house on several different occasions. This house is in between 2 houses that are so close, you don’t have to bring a wireless speaker because you can choose to listen to music from the houses on either side. There was no point in trying to turn ours on because it was just a battle. The people in unit 3 and 7 where kept awake most nights by the spring breakers renting the house next door. Even with windows shut, air conditioner running and fans all spinning, they heard every word. Including the fighting and profanity in the middle of the night after everyone was good and drunk. If you are looking for a peaceful family vacation, this is not the place. The beach is crawling with drunk people all day, every day except Sunday. If you want a non stop party, then this is the place for you.

Paradise!

Oh my.....what an amazing visit we had to Villa Dos. We have had the great fortune to stay at Villa Dos on several occasions. I can say that it is one of the most beautiful vacation homes I have ever seen. The beautifully decorated home surrounding an infinity pool is an ideal setting for a tropical get-away. We stayed with two other couples and were delighted by the spacious accommodations each couple enjoyed. The friendly staff was on sight to ensure our every need was met. The location of Villa Dos on the island contributes to its charm. It is a short drive from the airport and just steps away from amazing restaurants and a world of family activities. I have been scuba diving and snorkeling as well and I can say it is stunning. Thank you again for an unforgettable vacation and I'm sure we will be back!!

Perfect Vacation

Villa Dos is the ideal prescription if you need a break from a hectic life. Perfectly situated on the beach behind a stand of beautiful palm trees. Villa Dos offers a spectacular ocean view while maintaining privacy allowing one to luxuriate in the fabulous infinity pool. Just behind the pool you'll find glass doors leading to the main house. It is quiet, well furnished and climate controlled with a large kitchen. An added perk is the availability of several restaurants and shopping just a short walk down the beach. All in all Villa Dos is the perfect vacation get away. We have enjoyed Villa Dos several times over the past few years and always return. Highly recommended.

We are blessed to travel extensively & Villa Dos in Cozumel, Mexico is one of our favorite destinations. Oct 2016 was our 15th visit. We already made reservations for 2017! Cozumel is a small, safe island only a short flight from the USA. The people are friendly & helpful. Villa Dos is the ideal vacation get way. A true Spanish style villa, Villa Dos sits on the beautiful sandy beaches of the Caribbean. Villa Dos offers something for everyone. Couples will find Villa Dos private, relaxing & romantic. Families will find lots of room with exciting water adventures for the children. Janie (owner), is on site to assist with any questions or offer recommendations. A private infinity pool surrounded by palm trees overlooks the beach. We like to enjoy a margarita while watching the stunning sunsets. There’s a large fully equipped chef kitchen for those who like to cook. However, we seem to dine out most of the time. Nearby restaurant’s (short walk on the beach) make meal time simple. Try San Frisco Beach club for the Ceviche and the best French fries in the world! Next door is Carlos & Charlies who offers a wide variety of dishes. Mr. Sancho’s has fabulous fish. Coconuts, (sitting on a bluff with a spectacular view of the Caribbean) has great margaritas. Villa Dos is a short drive into downtown Cozumel where you will find excellent shopping. I am not a diver, but my friends tell me the diving & snorkeling are some of the best in the world. We love Villa Dos and are looking forward to our 2017 visit. Highly recommended.

Company Retreat

We used your magnificent Villa dos at the end of last January for our Corporates retreat and it was great! We arrived and took full advantage of the peace and quiet to relax and wind down, we also took full advantage of the to die for view and walking on the beach resembled a picture postcard. The place was immaculate and furnished beautifully with everything we needed, and the onsite owners were gracious and kind hosts. With a beautiful beach right off the back deck and entertainment a few sandy steps down the beach it has the best of both worlds, and being swept away by the gorgeous sunset and soft ocean breeze at the end of the day was pure bliss. Now, we have returned from Cozumel refreshed and replenished and wishing we could go back; if you are planning a trip to Cozumel I highly recommend booking with these guys; you won’t regret it.

Family vacation paradise

Our family of 10 stayed at Villa Dos and loved every minute. Our 3 granddaughters shared the bedroom with the 2 queen beds, and the 3 couples and grandson had the 4 bedrooms with very comfortable king beds. The house is arranged so that there are 3 sitting areas which gave us room to get away from the group for some quiet. When everyone wanted to be together, the large kitchen/eating/ watching TV area had comfy seating for all of us. There are 6 bathrooms including one off the large family area. When we looked out the French doors toward the ocean, the view was fantastic. There were 2 tables and chairs on the covered porch, then steps down to the beautiful infinity pool. All of this overlooks the ocean and private beach with chairs. The kids were in the pool before we had the car unloaded, and then everyone hit the beach for snorkeling. It was amazing to be able to snorkel right out the back door whenever we wanted. We cooked 1 or 2 meals everyday, and the kitchen had everything including a 6 burner stove and side-by-side refrigerator with an ice-maker hooked up to bottled water. There were plenty of dishes, glasses, etc for the 10 of us. A lovely lady came and cleaned every day which made it a real vacation for me too. The owner Janie lives on the top floor; this was a very handy arrangement since she was always happy to help us. Having an English speaking person nearby was comforting, but after we checked in we didn't know she was there if we didn't look for her. The wifi was very good and a free phone was available for calls home or on the island. There were a few channels in English on the TV, but we did not spend much time watching it.

Everything you need in a great location

We were in Cozumel for a week and stayed here for a wedding. In short, the trip was a blast and Villa Dos provided everything we were looking for. The rooms are all nicely decorated and the layout almost feels like several separate houses with shared kitchen and outdoor pool area, which was great for the 5 couples we had staying in the Villa! The staff that came in to clean and maintain the property everyday was wonderful as well. Kitchen was very well stocked right down to the hand juicer for squeezing fresh lime juice into those margaritas! Very convenient location as well with full scale resorts to one side, and several bars/restaurants just steps away down the beach and a great ‘hole in the wall’ taco stand walking distance up the driveway on the main road. If you can swing it, I highly recommend scuba diving while there... the reef is amazing! It was our first time to Cozumel, I can't wait to go back, and I certainly look forward to returning to Villa Dos.

Awesome house and staff, and excellent snorkeling!

We had a wonderful time at Villa Dos. The house is magnificent, as advertised, and Janie could not have been any nicer to us. The twelve us enjoyed perfect weather during the Christmas week and took advantage of all of the beach sports offered by the nearby day spas. The water was so warm (hard to remember one month later while I'm freezing in Cleveland) and the snorkeling right off of the beach was excellent. The house was always clean and the staff was so kind and tolerant (8 kids ages 18-24 - that's no fun for anyone!) The only down side was that the internet was very sketchy and probably only worked about 25% of the time we were there. But it didn't prove to be too much of an issue as WiFi was available just down the beach. All in all, a great trip and great Christmas memories for all of us. Thanks for making it possible for us.

Cozumel-----Again!

Second time to visit Cozumel. The first time was an anniversary trip and this time fell a day after my birthday. Had a great time! The first time we snorkeled and parasailed right from Villa Dos. This time we just enjoyed relaxing in the pool overlooking the ocean and walking the beach. Had a few rainy days but enjoyed sitting on patio and enjoying the view. Went up town and shopped off the main street got some great deals. Thanks to Janie ( the owner) she recommended eating fresh catch of the day at The Money Bar and it was delicious, she also recommened Coconuts on the other side of the island and it was great the atmoshpere and food was wonderful. She was very helpful by being able to tell us about the island and things we could do, and were things were located. Had such a great time it is a home away from home in paradise, takes you away to a different place so you can enjoy your vacation. The house is lovely and has everything you need to be away from home. Can't wait to go back plan on another visit soon.

Truth in advertising

Villa Dos was a perfect fit for our group of 9! The unique layout allows for individual privacy, while the common areas are inviting and warm. We enjoyed all the conveniences of home. Air conditioners are cold and the showers are hot! The attentive staff maintains a beautiful, clean environment without intrusion. We look forward to returning next year.

One of a kind

I’m just getting around to writing comments about our two-week stay, now six months ago. I’m a little reluctant to so because booking our next stay at Villa Dos may have more competition. As far as I could determine (before and since) there are only 4 Villa’s with private swimming pools on the island. Nicole and her mother, Janie, greeted our late arrival, presented us with a fresh bowl of fruit and snacks and gave us a personal tour of this spacious, extravagant property. If we could kidnap the maid we would, hands down the cleanest VRBO we’ve stayed in. We mentioned to Janie that 2 of the 6 burners on the range didn’t work. Next time we came home, there was a brand new range/oven. Couldn’t find the wine opener, blinked and a new one was on the counter.This place is well cared for with no deferred maintenance, the tile work is spectacular. Nicole lined us up with a very knowledgeable dive master who made our underwater experience unforgettable. I’m still wondering what to do with our 100 photos of spectacular ocean sunsets from both the pool deck and the lower beach. Initially we were somewhat reluctant about having the owner (Janie) living on the property, but it turned out to be a big plus with no downside. She is such a sweet and wonderful person; we’ll be friends for life.

Beautiful beach front villa

My husband and I rented out this beautiful villa, as well as the neighboring villa to house our families during our week long wedding event! Our wedding was not held here, but the ease and comfort provided by the home and caretakers certainly took a load off of our shoulders. We were excited to show our guests their accommodations, its just so gorgeous! We were greeted by the care takers when we arrived and they were always available for our questions or needs. The same goes for our booking process with the homeowner, Nicole. She was responsive, kind, and reasonable for the entire thing! I could not be more grateful for discovering this perfect oasis in Cozumel. Thank you Nicole!

Such a Great Place!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and it was just perfect! Janie is a sweetheart and was so helpful if we needed anything. The villa is gorgeous and the area is great. It's nice being within walking distance of Carlos and Charlie's and other beach club things. It was also nice being kind of away from the city, it felt more private and safe. But it also took just a few minutes to get to town if we needed to. Best of both worlds! We swam with the dolphins at Chankanaab and we highly recommend it! What a blast! We also got a sunset cruise through Albatros Charters and they were so sweet! They made us a cake that said Happy Honeymoon on it. Also, make sure you take a full tour of the island. There is so much beautiful beach on the other side of the island. Highly recommend staying here! It's perfect!

Another Perfect Anniversary

This was our 9th visit celebrating our anniversary at Villa Dos. Couldn't ask for anything more memorable. Janie is great too! We enjoy going to the money bar for a yummy hamburger and drink especially because its not too far away. We always make a trip to the other side of the island to eat fresh caught fish at Chen Rio. But, most of all, we enjoy lounging around the Villa Dos pool- relaxing and reading a good book. Can't beat this.

AWESOME experience at Villa Dos!

We just returned home from our 6 days at Villa Dos and we had an excellent time. We chose to cook our own meals. So my husband and I took a cooking class in town and then cooked authentic Mexican food for the whole family (9 of us total) all week. It was relaxing and beautiful. The kids, who ranged from 14-24 had a ball on the beach and in the private pool. Janie was cheerful and accomodating and everyone loved her southern accent. We couldn't have asked for a better location or better facilities. The pictures and description are spot on and exactly what we expected. I would love to bring the entire family back again someday. The home was a perfect distance from town, to avoid all the cruise ship traffic and yet close enough to get groceries easily. We would highly recommend the snorkeling on the "Fury". They picked us up at the pier (walking distance to the south) and we received great service from the divers. I dropped my water camera as soon as entering the water and they returned after the dive to retrieve it! We couldn't be happier. We will bring home lots of great memories, including one of my sons proposing on the beach to his girlfriend on the first night we got there!!

Perfect Hideaway

This was our family vacation... my husband and I took our 5 kids, ages ranged from 13 to 32... Next door was Carlos and Charlies and The Beach Bar where we hung out and had tropical drinks and water activities close by for entertainment... Each morning we were picked up at the pier for days of diving and fishing.. 15 minutes away we were able to drive into town for the local fun, but at our vacation home we were able to tuck away and enjoy the intimacy of being a family with the congestion of other tourist. I would recommend this house.

a Gorgeous Setting

We had the most wonderful getaway setting for our family reunion, 40th anniversary celebration, and our daughter's marriage celebration all in one week at this beautiful place. We were greeted by one of the nicest people you'd ever meet, the owner, Janie, and later we met the property manager, who was so helpful in answering our questions.The three people who took care of the house and the grounds were efficient and friendly. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for so many people, and we appreciated having distilled water in each room. We sat with our coffee on Adirondack chairs on the beach every morning, played volleyball before dinner, went snorkeling, and enjoyed Carlos and Charlies Beach Club next door and the little outside bar, where we met many interesting people.Our age range was 24 to 64 years, and there was something for everybody. There was music playing much of the day, but it was not loud. And it was quiet in the evenings.We spent many hours in the swimming pool. A real plus was free wifi and free phone calls to the US.I cannot imagine a nicer place to spend a week with friends and family. We have been to Cozumel 10 times, and stayed in many different places, but this is the best by far.

Update: My Dear Dad passed away after a 5 year battle with stage IV Colon Cancer. Mom continues to carry on their dream at Villa Dos.

David and Janie, my Mom and Dad, live on site (and out of your way) to carefully ensure that everything in the villa is kept just right! My Mom 'uses a fine tooth comb' after each guest departs. She would 'give her eye teeth' to make sure each guests is pleased with their stay.
These folks are animal lovers and have rescued 2 dogs and 2 cats from roaming the streets on Cozumel. Unfortunately they do not allow any animals in the rental villa. If you see an animal in town or on the beach that you would like to adopt then feel free to ask Janie to help you make the arrangements. They are true Southerners - kind, humble, and down to earth.

We picked out the villa location while diving. It was once wooded with lush tropical flowers and trees and of course sand and ocean. While riding on the dive boat, as we passed by the unpopulated area and always commented that it would be nice to have a house there - close to the dive sites and the beach clubs - right on the ocean!

The Villa Dos (2nd Home) dream became a reality in 2001. Dad and Mom drove to Cozumel (with me, our two dogs and our cat), to see through the finalization of the construction, and they never turned back (to Alabama). Mom and Dad live at Villa Dos year around to keep a close eye on their little gem.

The beautiful beach that Vila Dos sits on is truly a dream come true. The ocean is just a few steps from the pool. Beach sunsets can be enjoyed nightly. You can soak up all of the sun while lounging by the pool or on a float in the pool. If you would rather just be mesmerized by looking at the teal blue ocean while being caressed by its breezes, you can sit in the shade of the covered patio or on the private beach chairs under the mature palms my father planted. Town is just a short car ride away for when you want to go to the grocery store or maybe have a day of shopping. It is also only a short ride away to explore the other side of the island. If you want to dive, you will love our central location for dive boat pick up. And when you return from any outing, or if you just want to hang out and do nothing all week then you'll feel right at home at Villa Dos. We look forward to having you at our home.
