About Marti Miesen

My husband and I are transplants from Lincoln City Oregon on the Pacific Ocean.

We came to the East Cape 21years ago, and fell in love with the pristine area and the people. I became a Mexican citizen. Our lives have been enriched with the Bed and Breakfast we run, meeting the most wonderful people from around the country. Many have become good friends, and return to our paradise year after year!

Marti Miesen purchased this guest house in 1997

Why Marti Miesen chose Los Cabos

We are in a unique area, away from all the beach vendors and noise. Only 18 miles away from restaurants and shopping, and 9 miles away from our local Restaurants Zac's, and Vidasol, you can have it all! Beautiful white sand beach all to yourself, with the comforts of big hotel amenities! We will aspire to meet all your needs to make your vacation experience fun and memorable.

What makes this guest house unique

You won't get the private beach and environment that we have at Boca de Las Palmas in the general San Jose and Cabo area. The East Cape is the last bastion of peace and tranquility, where the developers have not yet started to develop.

We have a new paved road from San Jose del Cabo to our house except for 5 miles of dirt, which is generally kept up with the grater. We do have a service of pick up and delivery to the airport for $150.00 US taking you to the grocery store for your other food and beverage needs while here and then home. If you would like to rent a car and have us meet you at the airport so you can follow us, that would be $75.00 US.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Where to begin? Marti was a gracious host and, from the beginning, she was like a long, lost family member who just happened to have a secluded, beach-front property in Mexico and wanted to cook us an amazing breakfast every morning. Our adventure with Marti began when she met us at the Hertz rental car agency and directed us to the Mega grocery store so we could buy a 24-pack of cervezas (and for her to stock up for our week's breakfast). She is fluent in Spanish, so when you find yourself looking for lard free tortillas and can't read the nutrition label, she is patient and more than happy to help. Next is the most important thing to know: have her take you to Zac's. It's in the middle of nowhere and you'll be second guessing yourself for following this lady into the bushes, but you will not be disappointed. You will be starving from your flight, so go there and order tacos and margaritas. And then go back the following night and order more tacos and more margaritas (because you will be surprised at how awesome you feel the next morning). Our crew was a group of 5 so we slept 4 people in the guest house and 1 person in the extra room in the main house. In the guest house is a bed and a fold-out couch and one bathroom; in the main house there is a bed and a private bathroom (note: we could have comfortably slept 6 people as all the beds are quite large). The guest house has a kitchen and all silverware, dishes, pans, and glassware were provided. Bedding was also provided. No issues there. The hot tub and pool were great and cleaned regularly. In fact, everything was spotless and Marti's staff, who lives on site, busily cleaned the guest house and extra room each day while we ate our huge, home made breakfasts. Speaking of breakfast we had shrimp omelettes (twice!), huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, french toast, waffles, and a creamy egg scramble (trust me on the creamy egg scramble, it was the most-talked about breakfast item since this trip). And let's not forget the gigantic, fresh fruit plate every morning. It was unreal. Don't be hesitant to stay away from the tourist crowds especially if you want a truly relaxing vacation. Marti and her husband were glad to talk with us throughout the day, but were also fine just letting us do our own thing. If you feel like you might want to visit the city, San Jose del Cabo was only a ~40 minute drive from the house and Cabo San Lucas was only another ~30 minutes after that. Thank you so much Marti, Lloyd, and

Perfect Surf Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Went down for a long weekend with some surf buddies, including my teenage son, and could not have been happier. Marti and Lloyd were the perfect hosts, and their location, right on the sand, is in the heart of the East Cape's surf spots including a little known break right out front... Dawn patrol surf, then back for a full (five star B & B) breakfast made to order by Marti. Waste away the afternoons in margaritaVille, either snorkeling and spearfishing out front, lounging by the pool, or beach combing til the evening session... Dinner, then sleep to the sounds of the waves crashing in the comfortable, and fully equipped guest house and main house guest room, equipped with AC and/or fans, and repeat for the next day... Easy drive from the airport, we'll be back when the south swells are running! Thank you Marti and Lloyd! You gave us all the privacy we needed, but still made us feel like family!

Beautiful and quiet beachfront property

  • 5 of 5

This was an amazing vacation for us! We were here for eight days with our four children, ages 10-17. The beautiful property is right on a gorgeous, private beach. Each morning we watched whales from the patio as we ate a delicious made-to-order breakfast prepared by Marti, who is a very gifted hostess and cook. She started us off each morning with a huge platter of fresh fruit, and then served legendary huevos rancheros, waffles, omelettes, whatever we wanted, and she was even attentive to food sensitivities. She and her husband made us feel very welcome and comfortable. She was available to answer all our questions and take care of any needs. We always felt safe, never even locking our door. The children enjoyed riding the horses along the beach, swimming in the pool, boogie boarding in the waves, and searching for shells along the shore. You can walk up and down the beach a long way and not see a soul. One day, we drove north and booked a tour to snorkel from a boat. The children were literally swimming with the sea lions. We had everything we needed in the well-stocked kitchen. The property is clean and beautiful with tropical and desert plants and an aviary. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet vacation or a place to make wonderful memories with their family. It's a place we'd love to return to.

We (family of 4) travel a lot! This will be a place we will be back to many times. If you gravitate towards all-inclusives then this might not be for you but if you want the best service, most amazing breakfasts, pristine beaches, quite and secluded slice of heaven then this is the place to go. My only hesitation is this review is that it will be sold out next time we book!

Thanks Marti for way more than we ever imagined!!!

YOU ARE MISSING OUT if you don't stay here!!

  • 5 of 5

Marti and Lloyd are so welcoming and accommodating! We were so lucky to find this secluded oasis. We stayed Saturday to Saturday and wished we could have stayed indefinitely. Marti makes a wonderful, fresh breakfast daily that is served in front of the ocean which keeps you full way past lunch. There is a full kitchen and outside grill for all your other needs and fishing right off the beach with some tasty varieties. They offer horseback riding along the beach and you can have a beach fire (the stars are AMAZING). We really can't say enough about our stay and Marti and Lloyd!

Best. Ever.

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a very special place. Firstly, the property is absolutely stunning. So beautifully maintained, with new surprises every day. The rooms were super clean and comfortable, The breakfast was amazing, (don't miss out on Marti's huevos rancheros), the animals were well behaved and so lovely. Then, there is Marti and Lloyd who make this place even more of a rare gem than it already is, they are the best of the best! Always up for a chat with some incredible stories, but totally respectful of our space at the same time! We had an amazing time and can not wait to come back!!!
