Laketown Beach Cottage is tucked in at the base of the protected dunes, as close as possible to Lake Michigan.

There were THOUSANDS of people at the Tulip Festival on our first day. We came home from that experience and sat on the screened in porch and listened to the absolute quiet. We sipped our tea and read our books and just unwound.
You can climb a million steps to the beach or you can climb just a bunch of steps to the top of the dune and see the most glorious sunsets imaginable.
The cottage had all it said it would have. Three days were the perfect amount to stay. The cottage was totally in the woods and there are critters in the woods and upstairs you could hear the critters and they sounded mighty close.
We had one issue with the cottage, I texted Kathy and it was fixed immediately.
I just cannot tell you how nice a step away from the craziness of the world was for us. We have trouble relaxing and it was the perfect place for us. Amazingly peaceful.
Great Location in a Quiet Dune
We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet little cabin the dunes. It was the perfect location to the beach. We just walked down the driveway and up the million stairs to the beach. Even though the stairs were crazy the view was worth it and the beach was not that crowded. The cottage was cozy and had everything we needed.
The best part of our stay was watching the sunset at the top of the dunes and sitting around the campfire at night listening to the crickets.
Great location!!! A hop and skip to the beach with a spectacular view.
just old and rustic, but you can't beat the price!
Peaceful and secluded cottage in wooded duneland
Cozy rustic cottage tucked in secluded behind a dune.... Awesome location.... Very private... Yet you'll find a nearby hike up a dune to Laketown Beach for swimming and sunsets, a short drive to Saugatuck Dunes State Park for great hiking trails, and about ten minutes to Saugutuck/Douglas for shopping and dining.
We loved sitting on the screen porch sipping coffee and reading in the mornings and hanging out by the campfire in the evenings after hiking to the beach to view incredible sunsets!
Perfect location to unplug!
Location was fantastic!
We loved the secluded, quite location. Literally the cottage sits along a sand dune next to Lake Michigan. We were a short drive to Saugatuck and Holland. We were right in the middle of nature, then within minutes browsing through quaint little shops. We also really enjoyed riding our bikes on the many bike trails in the area.
My husband and I wanted to take a vacation away where we could relax and enjoy the outdoors. Mission accomplished!
We're so pleased you enjoyed yourselves at Laketown and the surrounding area-
there's really a lot of activities this time of year!
Keep in touch, we'd love to have you back~~
Rustic charm near the lake
The cottage had everything we needed-- little touches like snacks, bottled water, cleaning supplies that included all the necessities to enjoy the kitchen and the washer/dryer were much appreciated. The property manager and the owner were responsive to our questions and concerns and provided us all we needed. It's a place for people who would prefer to be unplugged from internet and cable. TV service is intermittent. Verizon cell phones worked for texting and internet. Coffee or breakfast on the deck, a walk over the dune to the beach to enjoy Lake Michigan or the sunset, and short trips to Saugatuck and Holland were highlights of our visit. The Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival, Felt Mansion, Douglas Beach Park, Palazzalo's Dairy Outlet, The Southerner, 205 Coffee Bar, and Lemonjello's Coffee are all less than 15 minutes away.
Thanks so much~ we're pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Laketown Cottage!
There's a lot to see & do in the area, but those sunsets over Lake Michigan are really awesome...
Hope you'll return soon~
Many trails surround the cottage allowing glimpses of local wildlife. State Park nearby, in addition to miles of bike paths. Walk for miles along the shoreline of Lake Michigan ~ Explore the unique, white sand dunes and enjoy the magnificent views from the top of the dunes!
