Shuttle to Village/lifts! .5 miles to base! Cozy Chalet!

Everything is right at your fingertips at the Switchback Chalet. Two living areas, four bedrooms, updated kitchen, outdoor grill, hot tub and 3.5 bathrooms - enough space for everyone! Get away for a long weekend or week!

In the winter come enjoy the snow! The shuttle will pick you up right at the end of the driveway and bring you to the base of the mountain and back home when you're done skiing or drive up the road and drop your family off at the covered bridge for instant skiing. If you don't feel like driving, you can also walk a path to the base lodge/gondola which is only about .5 miles (but uphill so we wouldn't recommend this option in ski boots :) but perfect for a non-skier to get to the base lodge without driving and parking).

Enjoy the hot tub after a long day of skiing right off the front deck offering beautiful views of the mountain!

**Please note there are 4 night minimums for Christmas break and Presidents Day weekend. Thank you!!

In the spring and summer the beautiful Stratton golf course is less than a mile down the road to golf 9 or 18. Or plan an afternoon of kayaking or paddle boarding at any of the close by ponds or reservoirs:
Stratton Snow Making pond - less than 10 minutes away and easy on and off for your paddle board or kayak.
Grout Pond - about 20 min drive on the other side of Stratton mountain but so beautiful and clean. You can also fish here.
Lowell Lake in Londonderry - 20 min and a beautiful location for kayaking and paddle boarding. It also has a 3.5 mile hike around the lake, picnicking, boating and fishing.
Townshend Lake - 20 minutes and perfect for picnics and outdoor recreation. The lake includes flush toilets, drinking water, playgrounds, volleyball courts, horse shoe pits, a swim beach and hiking trails available throughout the park. This lake is also stocked once a year with rainbow trout.

Also keep a look out for fun events held by Stratton, like the tough mudder in early June or plan a day of mountain biking with some friends! You can also hike the mountain starting from our driveway - head right up the road and onto the mountain via the covered bridge or walk up and start from the base.

If you want to hike beyond the lakes and mountain try the Appalachian trail for the best hiking and fall foliage Southern Vermont has to offer.

Manchester is also less than 30 minutes away and has tons of shopping and dining.

We had a great time here! We came with 3 couples and 4 kids and the house had great space for us all. Great room to play for the kids, a big hot tub, and wood burning fireplace were all highlights, but catching the shuttle at the end of the drive way and getting out to ski right from the covered bridge was the best feature. Highly recommend!

This property is great, plenty of space for the whole family. We enjoyed the hot tub after many days of mountain biking at Stratton and riding the alpine slide at Bromley. I like this area as it offers plenty of options for activities and food both at Stratton Village or In Manchester. I plan to stay at this property in the future.

Top notch location

Perfect house for a family holiday. Great layout - the two living rooms provided plenty of space for both children and adults to spread out in, the hot tub was a great perk, and the large family dining table was wonderful to play games at. But most importantly, you can't beat the location. So close to the mountain and the shuttle service was fantastic!

Stratton rental house

We stayed here for 3 nights to enjoy our first time skiing Stratton mountain. The house was very clean, comfortable and very close to the mountain. Beautiful views of the mountain from the house, nice fireplace and TV to enjoy at night.

Summer Trip

The property is beautiful with modern finishes and everything you’d need for a mountain getaway. We had been invited for a summer wedding on Stratton and this place fit a few of us quite comfortably with plenty of space for everyone. Would highly recommend to anyone, we’d definitely rent this place again if we venture up to VT for some skiing in winter!

Guys gravel bike weekend

Just got back from three nights at this wonderful property with a group of 50-somethings to compete in a gravel bike race. This property was ideally located near our start line, very very clean, plenty of room for us, basically as advertised. Would definitely rent here again in the future given all of the above..

Stratton house - ideal for a family & friends visit

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend stay at this property. It was ideal for our two families with 6 young kids. We enjoyed the layout of the house, especially the kitchen and living room where we could observe our kids outside (in the jacuzzi) but also relax by the fire at the same time. Our kids enjoyed the double bunk room, lower level family room play area and also took a jacuzzi every afternoon post skiing! The location of the house was perfect, with views of the mountain and a shuttle service. Would love to return!

Cozy, Well-Equipped Stay Near Stratton & Bromley – Perfect for Families!

We had a fantastic stay at this rental! The home was spotless and well-maintained, making it a comfortable and relaxing getaway. It’s conveniently located in the Stratton Mountain area and just a 20-minute drive from Bromley Mountain, making it a great spot for skiing and winter activities.Our kids loved playing in the snow and especially enjoyed the hot tub after a day outside. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, making meal prep easy. One of the highlights was the real fireplace—it added such a cozy and authentic touch, much better than an electric one!Overall, this rental exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We are an avid ski (and board) family of 6 and just bought this beautiful home in VT! Looking to rent it for part of the season so others can enjoy it as well!

Why they chose this property

On a beautiful road with lovely homes, you can walk (off season) or drive to the covered bridge and ski on/off from there. You can also walk to the base lodge from the house via a trail to the right of the main road (it's about a half mile walk). Or if you don't want to walk or drive your own car you can jump on the shuttle right at the end of the driveway!
