Pam and Scott, second generation owners, live in western Massachusetts. We can't spend as much time as we'd like at the lake.
Scott Fershleiser purchased this house in 1963
Pam's non-swimmer parents preferred the safety of a little distance from the water. We love the woods, wildlife and water.
Sebago is a large, very clean lake. We kayak on it and the rivers that feed it. Great beach and trail walks through the State Park.
Great Location! The State Park locks the gate at night - so don't forget your key. Well equipped cottage, we made bread in the breadmaker.
My husband and I rented this lovely cottage for a week to be with our daughter, her husband and our grand baby. The accommodations were just perfect and Scott and Kathy had us meet their caretaker Scott who was also so helpful! There is plenty of room and although you are not right on the water you are merely steps away to a secluded beach on a cove. We had a wonderful time and will be returning next year! Thank you again to Scott and Kathy for sharing your wonderful cottage!
It's not often that I write reviews, but this place was fantastic. It was the best of both worlds: we had just enough seclusion and privacy, but with easy access to the beautiful beach at Sebago State Park. The kids absolutely loved using the kayaks and the fire pit, and the state park was perfect for family get togethers. The house was clean and very well maintained, and so many small details and conveniences were thought of by the owners: charcoal, lighter fluid, dish detergent, sponges, toilet paper, etc. The house was stocked with plenty of games (indoor and outdoor), DVDs, and books to keep the kids occupied when in and around the house. The overall location is ideal since it's a short ride into town for ice cream, shopping, restaurants, and other amusements. There's a drive-in movie theater and the Seacoast Adventure Park all within a short driving distance, although we didn't need to take advantage of these since the weather was perfect and the kids were enjoying the beach so much. I wish we could have spent two weeks there instead of just one!
My wife and I recently rented the cottage for the week along with our two sons (10 & 12) and four of their friends. The Cottage is tucked back at the end of a private road in Sebago State Park along with only 6 other cottages. Private & quiet but not isolated.
Being right in the park was ideal. Kids had access to miles of nearby trails and a choice of 3 spots to enjoy the lake. The main state park beach was only a 5 minute walk and there are clean bathrooms, picnic tables and grills that you can use. However, the spot that everyone loved was the small beach that was literally a minute walk directly behind the cottage. The kids played beach soccer, football, floated on the inner tubes we brought and did what 12 years olds do-run around non stop. We had the beach mostly to ourselves the entire time.
The cottage itself had plenty of room for everyone to relax. Four bedrooms and a large room with comfortable cots provided the kids multiple sleeping options. Two full bathrooms/showers along with complimentary shampoo/conditioner kept the kids smelling (relatively) fresh.
In the cottage, the owners Scott and Pam thought of every detail, large and small to make for an enjoyable stay-Split firewood for the firepit, charcoal and ligher fluid for the grill, horeshoe pit, canoe, kayaks, hammock, plenty of outdoor furniture and the "little" things like new sponges, dish detergent, clothes detergent and even flashlights that the kids used on their night hikes were greatly appreciated. We particulary loved the large DVD collection. The kids watched a different movie each night and was a great way to get them to have some down time. The other highlight was our nightly "smore" making party as we relaxed and talked about the day.
The location to other towns/activiites/restaurants is excellent. We went to a nearby amusement park one day played a few rounds of mini golf another and grabbed ice cream at the Naples Causeway. We ate out a few times but cooked at the cottage the majority of the time. The nearby Umbrella Factory Supermarket(Tony C's) while small, was perfect for stocking up on supplies.
Communication with Scott and Pam was prompt and professional at every stage of the process. Extremely pleasant and helpful. Their efforts in making sure we had what we needed did not go unnoticed.
If you are looking for a true lake cottage expereince where you can spend some quality time with friends or family this is the ideal place.
We stayed here with my two children and four adults and it was perfect! The location is ideal because you get access to the beach but the house is very private. It has all the ammenities you need for a vacation from soaps and shampoos to linens. We had a wonderful stay and fell in love with Sebago Lake so will surely be back!
We had wonderful long weekend stay in this cottage with 3 families. The beach was so convenient and a perfect playground for our 5 toddlers! They had a great time in the canoe. The cottage fit the families well and the kitchen had everything we needed. We feasted on lobster and our fresh picked apples. Scott was extremely organized and responsive. The kids won't stop talking about wanting to go back to Maine. Fond memories for all. Thanks again.
My Husband, my 6 month old son and I rented this fantastic home away from home from Pam and Scott this summer. From the moment we arrived we felt perfectly at home and extremely relaxed. The house was stocked with everything you could ever need from pots & pans to night lights for the kids. The fire pit and grill got put to good use every night as we created wonderful seafood dinners. My son and I spent every nap swinging in the fantastic hammock on the screened in porch. The whole family enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear lake from each of the three beautiful beaches just minutes from the house. The hiking trails throught the state park were extensive and tranquil. We were so relaxed by the end of our stay that we never wanted to leave. Thank you Pam & Scott for making this amazing home available for others to enjoy!
