The Adobe House is happily situated at the headquarters of the Babacomari Ranch, an historic Spanish Land Grant privately owned by the Brophy family for the past eighty years. A nearby family dwelling offers a secure and welcoming setting. As a working cattle ranch, livestock roam the beautiful countryside, and horses at the barn offer their noses for a friendly petting.
The House comfortably sleeps six in the Queen, King, and Twin bedrooms. There are two full bathrooms, and for larger parties a Queen sofa sleeper, and two roll-away beds will increase the accommodations to sleep ten. Satellite TV and WiFi will keep you plugged in if you choose. And a courtyard patio, lawn and garden, gas grill and portable fire-pit make for good leisure time outside.
The Babacomari Creek runs through the property with a lush riparian habitat that is home to abundant wildlife and provides excellent bird watching. There is also seasonal fishing in the pond or Babacomari Creek, and miles of mountain biking & hiking trails. Horseback riding is available with a local outfitter, or you may bring your horses with you and lodge them for an additional fee.
Chosen for its landscape beauty, the Babacomari Ranch has been the film-site for several movies such as Tombstone, Oklahoma, and Red River.
The nearby Elgin/Sonoita communities are home to award winning Wineries, shops, and restaurants. A little further down the road Patagonia also offers eclectic art galleries, shops and eateries. Tucson is 60 miles to the North. Nogales, AZ + Sonora, Mexico is 45 miles to the West. Sierra Vista, world renowned Ramsey Canyon (bird watching), and Ft. Huachuca is 35 miles to the East. Beyond you’ll find Bisbee, formerly home of the Copper Queen Mine, now a “bohemian” artists’ colony, and Tombstone, with it's window to the old wild, wild west.
