Our Lae Nani unit opens to a captivating view of the beach, ocean, the landscaping and the Wailua Bay. It is a second floor unit. We recently completed major remodeling with a new kitchen, new bathrooms, and new furniture including a flat screen television and king size bed. We chose this property over other available ones on the basis of the view, its location, and the grounds. It is on the second floor of Lae Nani's only two story building. It is located midway between Hanalei and Poipu and approximately 10 minutes North of the airport and several miles South of Kapa'a town. The beach at the property provides good,safe swimming and snorkeling and there is a lava encircled beach area that is ideal for young swimmers. Numerous other beaches with more wave action are nearby providing for excellent surfing and boogie boarding.

We are walking distance to many excellent restaurants not to mention a very good bakery/coffee shop. We are very close to the Coconut Market Place that also has many very good casual restaurants as well as a Lapperts Ice Cream shop, Yogurt, Pizza and a Whalers General Store that is well stocked with sundries, beach accessories, beer etc.

In other words, other than for groceries, one would never have to get in their car.

About Howard or Patti

We are retired educators and have raised 4 children. When the kids were younger, we came to Hawaii many times. Having visited and enjoyed the other Islands, our favorite has been Kauai for the spectacular scenery, the friendly people, the variety of activities and that it hasn't been ruined by overdevelopment. Friends recently lured us back to Kaui resulting in a renewed love for the Island and after discovering Lae Nani, we decided that this was the place for us.

Why Howard or Patti chose Coconut Coast

We feel that Lae Nani has qualities that we did not find in other properties. Besides being ideally located, Lae Nani had the most appealing overall quality environment. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The manager has his own mini nursery resulting in Hawaiin colors adorning the landscaping at all times. While we have our own swimming bearch, we are close to other excellent beaches, a large quality swimming pool and is close to the charming town of Kapaa. Located in east Kauai, the drive to either Poipu or Hanalei is not excessive. There is a tennis court on site and parking is secure.

What makes this condo unique

We are located near the Wailua River with Kayaking, canoeing, and Hiking. Golfing and shopping are nearby. We are short walk to a variety of excellent eating establishments including Mexican, Japanese, Korean, Italian Cafe, and casual seafood restaurants.

Awesome Holiday

We arrived at the condo late Saturday night so we were not able to see the grounds. The inside was immaculate and looked exactly as in the photos. The next morning when we got up we were absolutely amazed by the view out our patio. Awesome. The condo is located mid island. We spent a day driving and sightseeing along the north coast. We spent about 3 days driving along the south coast and driving to the north end of Waimea canyon. We finally got a chance to enjoy the pool. That was a great experience. The people we met were there for the third and fourth time for their holidays. We had a wonderful visit with them. The only thing wrong was that we only booked 10 days at this condo. Our fault.

Perfect vacation getaway

We arrived to our beautiful home away from home for our 7 night stay at Lae Nani and were blown away . It is excatly what you see in the pictures . It's easy to get into through the private gate . And the room is close enough to the parking area and the pool and beach . We loved eating on the lanai and enjoying the sounds of the ocean . With a beautiful view of the pool also . On our 2nd day there we even saw a seal on the beach directly in front of the property . The condo has all the amenities you could possibly think of . The only thing we had to do was buy our food for the week . It was also nice for our girls to watch Netflix or satellite tv when we had down time .

Kapaa is the perfect place to stay it seemed to be not to far from the north shore and the south shore . Our 2 daughters were very sad to leave .

It was also easy to be able to get ahold of the owners whenever we had a question . They were very hospitable . I highly recommend this location for couples or families .

Beautiful holiday away from the Canadian winter!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this amazing unit last March 2015 for 8 nights. After being very disappointed in our last VRBO in the Poipu area the previous week we were so happy when we walked in the front door. The condo was spotless and well decorated. Loved the shells and pictures. The kitchen had everything we needed. Also very important to us was the comfy bed. The views from the lanai were gorgeous. There was an informative binder and travel books for Kauai. Also a closet with beach chairs, board games and books to read. We enjoyed the TV, sound system and Wifi. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured. We loved the pool and the beach area. This condo was very close to shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed our lovely walks in the evening. We were so happy with this condo in every way! It was in a great location in order to explore the entire island. We found Howard very easy to deal with. The only drawback for us was that the Canadian/US conversion was a bit tricky as credit card and Paypal was not an option. But we worked it out and so happy we did! I hope someday we can return to this little piece of paradise!

Our favorite place to stay on Kauai!

We can't recommend this condo enough. I have stayed in a variety of places in Kauai over the past decade and this is by far my favorite. We love this condo so much that we've actually stayed there 3 times over the past 2 years so it's about time we leave a review. These are the reasons why we will continue to stay here when visiting Kauai:

1. The condo is clean and tastefully furnished. It's been recently remodeled which is rare to find on the island and the decor is so well done. The kitchen is stocked with so many dishes/appliances that we never ran into issues cooking what we would normally cook at home. The bed is a King size and is very comfortable. The best part, however, is the balcony overlooking the ocean and pool. We spend most of our time out there reading, eating meals, and playing games. The grounds are also well taken care of and we love grilling at night one one of the several grills down by the pool. We've also met some nice visitors from all over the world staying in the complex while cooking!

2. The condo is very central, close to some of the best restaurants on the island and equally close to the south shore and the north shore which is great for those who like to explore the entire island.

3. The owners are responsive and very accommodating. We never had issues contacting them and Howard and Patti were both very nice and easy to do business with.

Overall, we will continue to stay in #124 as long is it's available. Kauai is our happy place and Howard and Patti's home makes being there easy, which is what vacation is all about!

Owners are unresponsive

This is a great place to stay if you do NOT want to know how to get in to the unit or the parking gate because the owners do not respond to emails, phone calls or texts. Also do NOT expect to get your security deposit back or response about it. Other than that it's a nice unit but ther are plenty of nice units that I'm sure are ran much better.

Owner's Response: I strongly take issue with this guest that I am unresponsive. They were sent email instruction with driving directions, gate code, lock box code and cel phone numbers for both Patti and myself. I don't sit at my computer most of the time and don't always respond to emails promptly. I do respond to phone calls and text messages as soon as I am able. As one can see from other reviews, other guests have not found my responsiveness to be an issue. I am not a great book keeper and do need reminders too often to send refund checks, but every guest has received a full refund.

AMAZING ANNIVERSARY TRIP!

Our stay at Lae Nani #124 was even more than we had expected! The photos posted are exactly what you will see...and even better. We had an amazing trip and the condo's location was convenient to travel anywhere on the island and close to restaurants and shops within walking distance. Although we didn't cook there, the condo had all the modern conveniences right at our fingertips. It was spotless, comfortable, and so relaxing to come back to after a day of sightseeing or at the beach. Have to admit, the no air-conditioning concerned us before arriving, but it was not a problem...the cool tropical breeze and ceiling fans were sufficient, especially since we were not there during the daytime. The grounds were very well kept, the pool was cool and sparkling and we even used the laundry facility which worked out great.

The owners were great to work with and they were even gracious enough to extend us a late check-out to accommodate our late flight out. We would stay again at Lae Nani and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Kauai. Our only complaint is that our trip just wasn't long enough!

Our unit is an end unit on the second floor of a two story building (one of only 4) which means the view is outstanding and no noise from people above. While we are located near the main highway, the location of our unit shields us from any road noise. The property is beautifuly landscaped with the manager being a tropical landscaping expert. We are located immediately North of the Wailua River,(excellent kayaking and paddle boarding.) and several minutes South of the quaint town of Kapa'a which has a rich history as a sugar plantation industry town. While it's architectural charm has not changed, it now has excellent restaurants, art and Jewelry galleries, clothing stores, and bike and kayak rentals. The Coconut Market Place is is a two minute walk from Lae Nani. It has a number of casual but good eating establishments, a well stocked convenience store and stores that sell Hawaiian/ beach clothing. We are a two minute drive or a 10 minute walk to small shopping centers with major food markets and pharmacies.
