THE LAKE:

The Great Sacandaga Lake is called the Adirondack Mountains’ best kept secret for good reason. The lake is a mecca for boating, water sports, snowmobiling, skiing, fishing and all kinds of recreation. Those that know it well always come back. Regardless of the season you’re visiting in, the views and outdoor fun are endless. Our retreat is located in Mayfield, NY, with plenty to do on the property and a short drive to the lake, bars, restaurants, groceries, and more.

WINTER FUN: Snowmobiling

If you’re an avid snowmobiler, the Great Sacandaga Lake freezes in the winter and is a great place to bring your snowmobile. There are snowmobile trail systems that connect to the lake, this includes, the Saratoga Trails and the Southern Adirondack (closest to the house) Trail System. Both trail systems are accessible from the house by driving onto the frozen lake. There are also multiple restaurants accessible from the lake or trail systems. You can bring your snowmobile while staying at the cabin and leave directly from the cabin to hit the trails!

A wonderful updated, clean and modern home on 50 acres. The property is quiet and secluded, everything you desire for a mellow time away from a busy life. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. A clean, well kept property that has plenty to do both on property and in the area. There is no hot tub like in the listed amenities which was a bit of a let down but otherwise it was a great property to stay at.

We had an excellent stay at this house. My dad and my husband enjoyed catching small fish in the ponds. Having one main level made it easy to contain our 11 month old. The location was perfect for having privacy but being able to make it out to the lake and SPAC for a concert. Overall we had a really nice time.

Everything was top notch - the house was perfectly cleaned, firewood stocked, everything working well and easy to use. Host was very kind and communicative. It was great to have three bathrooms. Had a great time here with family and friends. We had 12 people and there was plenty of room both inside and outside. We spent most of the time outside but it rained pretty hard one day, so it was cool to have a place big enough to fit us all. The house is a lot bigger than it looks in the picture. The host was excellent and he responded quickly to any questions. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect family get away

This house was amazing Besides the fact it had a fenced in area for the family dog It was clean and roomy. Lots of beds for sleeping (which were extremely comfortable) and 3 bathrooms with helps with a large group like ours. The house was decorated beautifully. The owner was nice and reachable with any questions we had. He walked me thru the ammenties when I checked in. Although we never got to just sit by the firepit at night it is in a secluded quiet area which would have been nice. Very enjoyable. I'd recommend this for a any size family.

A Great Place for Family and friends!

Place is kept very neat and clean and is a great place for families and friends to hangout and spend some quiet time. The interior is lovely. Only thing I wish the place had was a better A/C . There is no central ac and we had to rely on keeping doors open to get the air flow from one source. The checkin/checkout times are perfect! Also perhaps the two ponds could be a little more fishing friendly. They are 2 shallow and kids felt underwhelmed after excitedly looking forward to it at the onset of the trip. Overall great value and would consider a revisit.

Very neat and tidy. Very spacious! We all enjoyed our stay. We had a good time hanging with the family in the house. There is a doggy door that can be used or closed off that goes to the back yard that is fully fenced. They had a dog crate there so we left ours in the trunk. Very cute decore. Side note, we misunderstood the listing. The bar did not have any alcohol available. (Which i probably should have realized prior) So i ran into town to get some for out evening cap. No biggie. We had an amazing stay and would stay again for sure.

Always something to do!

House was top-notch on cleanliness & things to do! Description in VRBO was 100% accurate. Plenty of outdoor entertainment - hiking, canoe, kayak,& opportunity to fish (catch & release) in the ponds (bring your own rods), hammock, adirondack chairs around campfire, & area to practice your golf chipping. Fenced in backyard is awesome for dogs & kids. Outdoor shower was a bonus! Indoor: well-equipped kitchen, Alexa in the basement, great TV options available, powerful A/C unit (did not need window a/c units, though they were available). Two suggestions, bring your own life jackets if you think you may fall off the canoe or kayak. And while host provided alot of paper plates, may want to bring more plates as there were only 7 real plates.... Be patient with the shower at end of house with 2 bedrooms, it was touchy with getting right temp. Never a problem getting hot water! Mud room was perfect for playing games, storing shoes, jackets, dog leashes, etc. As for the area, there are plenty of lakes to visit and towns to explore! In summary, definitely recommend this house! Anthony is a great host. All ages & all 4-leggers loved it!

Great Weekend Getaway

We decided on a last-minute weekend getaway, but ran into a problem booking. Our host, Anthony, was very helpful in getting things squared away and booked. The location is nice and secluded, so you don’t have neighboring houses right on top of you. The house is very spacious - even though it was just the two of us and our dogs, there’s plenty of room to have multiple family members, with enough separate spaces so that everyone isn’t on top of one another all the time. The bed in the master is very comfortable, and we both slept great! The house inside is nicely decorated and had everything we needed for our weekend. Having a large heated mud room entrance was nice since we brought our two dogs (thanks for being dog-friendly!) and it rained all weekend. We were able to towel them off and clean them up before going inside. The fenced-in yard out back was another plus for people traveling with their pets. We wish the weather had been better so we could have sat outside by the pond and have a little bonfire and a cocktail. We did enjoy seeing the ducks and geese come visit the pond every morning. Anthony was very responsive to any questions we had, and even called us when we arrived to make sure we got in alright and didn’t have any initial questions or concerns. Absolutely loved our weekend here and would book again, but for longer next time!
