Walking on Sunshine is truly a unique find, in the fabulous Frangista Beach neighborhood, just 500 yards from gated beach access! Having a total of 6 bedrooms and 4 baths, this home features a sparkling fenced-in private pool and sleeping accommodations for 22 guests including a private carriage house complete with its own kitchen and living space! Inside the main home, there are two separate, spacious floor plans on both the first and second levels, each with a large living area and a fully equipped kitchen. The first level has a guest bedroom with two queen beds, another guest bedroom with a queen bed, and a full bathroom. The entrance to the upper levels is accessible from the first-floor balcony. The second floor has 2 guest bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin-over-full bunks, plus a full bathroom. The king master suite is on the third floor and boasts balcony access, a large ensuite bathroom, and a queen sleeper. As an added bonus, there is a carriage house located behind the main house with a queen bed and queen sofa sleeper. Outside, there is more to enjoy, including a fenced-in yard for your pet and a propane grill to enjoy cooking outdoors year round.

Frangista Beach is an upscale community in the heart of Miramar Beach on Scenic Gulf Drive. Featuring both beachfront homes and vacation homes just minutes from the sugar-white sands. This coveted community is close to favorite local restaurants like Pompano Joe’s and Whale’s Tail Bar and Grill, and some of the best shopping in the area. Frangista Beach is practically next door to the Seascape Golf Resort, which offers tee times to members of the public and has superior tennis facilities. Frangista Beach is the perfect choice for your next beach vacation!

Frangista Beach is located less than 2 miles from the Silver Sands Outlet Centers and is convenient to both the action in Destin and Grand Boulevard Towne Center with incredible eateries, upscale shopping and a park with pop up fountains at its center.

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest!  Destin Commons also has a mini-train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017.  Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

Could use some repairs on some cabinet doors, the refrigerator, and the microwaves, but otherwise it is in a great location, close to everything you need. It was great.

Being ran by a management property, we had difficulty with communication prior to check-in. Every time we would reach out, there was a different agent that we would speak to. Information was periodically conflicting. The house itself was okay. Some burners for the downstairs stove did not work. The oven door also did not shut completely. Two microwaves on the property did not work as well (first floor and carriage house). My biggest concern was the presence of roaches on the first and second floor along with a knife that we found in the bushes… When we arrived there were people from the management company present saying that an inspection was complete. However, I believe that the inspection protocol should be more thorough to look out for things like this. The location of the house was amazing and the beach access was great. If things improve with the overall condition of the house I’d be likely to return due to this.

The owner of this property didn’t pay the utility bill. The lights were cut off while we were there. Keep in mind all the fees were paid to the property and y’all can’t pay the light bill. The light man said the owner didn’t pay the light bill so this why I am cutting the lights off. All that money we paid them and ya’ll couldn’t have the light bill paid on time.

Rooms seemed cleaned, except the place was infested with the cockroaches and ants. They came and sprayed the place and ants were gone, but not the cockroaches. It was especially bad in the kitchen, even in the dishwasher. Poop was filthy. We couldn’t use the pool till our 3rd day there. Poop guy came and cleaned. Some of the pans there were unusable with full of scratches and were told that someone was going to bring the new ones and it never happened. Main floor washer was broken and we’re told of this when we arrived, never came to fix them or replace. Microwave door was broken too. We had to be very cautious not to have the door fall off. Communication was very poor though email or text. Only automatic email response to respond as soon as they can. Texted messages had to wait. Only way to communicate was to call.

Great location 👌

Great home for a large family, very spacious, pool house was a bonus, walking distance to shops and beach. The back area near the pool and patio could use some revamping but overall the home was nice.

Family vacation 2024

The property was outstanding and exactly the space we needed for our family. The weather, beaches and ocean was excellent. We did experience a couple of issues during our stay and they were resolved immediately. Definitely would choose this location and property again.

Great vacation location

We loved the extra carriage house for extra guest. Having separate floors with kitchens accommodated families traveling together and provided private areas. Issues that arose were taken care of in a very timely manner. The pool was small but perfect for our group (we had 13 people traveling together). Location was excellent: access to beach, restaurants, shops. Deck area could use updating: painting and completion of installation of deck boards. Overall, I highly recommend staying here, and I would do so again.

Family & Friends Graduation Vacation

We were excited to stay at this property with our family and friends because we had stayed at the little house next door 2 years ago with friends and that property was phenomenal. Walking on Sunshine is an older home and easily accommodated our group but it wasn't quite as the pictures on the VRBO site portrayed. If you book this property just know, it is older and some issues could pop up. With all that being said, this property accommodates large groups comfortably and we definitely enjoyed our vacation. You are close to the beach and the little pool is great if you don't want to go all the way to the beach or if you have little ones. The RealJoy staff were helpful and great to work with.

The pictures posted are old. The home is in quite a bit of disrepair. Pros: Clean sheets. They did offer to come and do some repairs while we were there. Cons: The floors on first and second floor living areas we're NASTY. We mopped three times and the water was still dirty. You should never have to clean a home once you get there. Yes, they offered to come in, but it should have been clean before we arrived. The countertops and tables had crumbs and other stuck on things on them. There were both ants and roaches. The pool area has a tile missing at the edge of the pool. The second floor entry from the stairwell has a strip at the door with tacks exposed. The blinds in the pool house were broken. They have to repair this??? The dryer in the pool house didn't work. They did bring a new one. The washer on the second floor doesn't spin water out of clothes. The dryer left marks on all the clothing. So while there are 3 sets of washers and dryers, two of the sets didn't work properly. I read the reviews prior to booking with mostly positive reviews, so I'm not sure what happened between those reviews and our arrival, but... All of the things I listed should have been done prior to our arrival. If I had them come in with every issue, they would have just been living there with us. I would look elsewhere for a rental.

Great location

Overall we had a great time! The house definitely needs some attention especially on the outside! The decking around the pool is in really bad shape. There are rotted, loose and broken boards. The inside of the house was okay but not perfect. The sofa on the second floor is coming apart at the seam on the back right side. They also need to pay a little bit more attention when cleaning. It would be nice if they had kitchen towels and dish soap in both kitchens. The house was a great size for our group, everyone had their own space so that was nice! The stairs get tiring fast though! Lol Realjoy was great when we had to reach out to them, I would definitely rent another property managed by them!

Wonderful Week

This is an older property with some maintenance issues. RealJoy was wonderful and responded to most issues in a timely manner. But all considered it was a great place for our large family. The back yard pool was great. There was plenty of deck space. The carriage house was a major plus for the grandparents. The kitchens were well equipped and there was plenty of storage. We really liked the parking spots for four vans/SUVs. There was confusion with the beach access, wrist bands and threat of police wanting to see our bands. Maybe that was just for the holiday weekend, but an aggravation for older folks with mobility issues. But we had a wonderful week with great beach weather and family that could spread out AND be close in the same house.

We appreciated the rental company’s responsiveness throughout our stay. The concerns we did have were handled promptly and in a manner we felt was fair and appropriate. We were thankful for the communication and the effort made to address the situation professionally
