About the property

6 Bedrooms 5.5 Baths Sleeps 12

Come to your home on the mountain and experience a magical time and place. It feels like the top of the world.

Close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to be private, Rocky Mountain Heights is a three-level home with 6 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths, and 2 full kitchens -plenty of room for your group of up to 12. Everyone can spread out and enjoy amazing views from every window to awe your love for the mountains while you watch wildlife in the yard. Listen to the Big Thompson River from the deck. The closest neighbors won't even know you're there!

The King master bedroom opens to the balcony that spans the 3rd level. The ground level King bedroom and bath have a private entrance.

The kids really like the double bunk room with 4 full size bunks and the play/game room that adjoins. There's even a full kitchen on this level too.

Relax in the hot tub on the deck while dinner cooks on the gas grill.

There's no manicured lawn or pristine flower beds, so be sure you have a camera to get pictures of the wildlife that abounds in this peaceful, natural environment. You could be visited by elk, deer, fox, turkeys, big horn sheep, or even get a great photo of the bear that sometimes roams the property.

Walk on 11 quiet acres. Enjoy the wildflowers or go down the road and picnic by the Big Thompson. Wonderful mountain trails, including one through Roosevelt National Forest and Deserted Village in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The quaint shops, restaurants and multiple kids' activities in Estes Park are just a short drive. Get your pass to Rocky Mountain National Park and visit McGregor Ranch and museum, a real 'old west' working ranch.

A short distance from our home, visit the unique little community store in Glen Haven. The cinnamon rolls, cherry cobbler and real ice cream sundaes are wonderful!

Just relax. Take pictures. Shop, hike, try fly fishing. Come in the fall and drink hot chocolate on the deck. Enjoy the hot tub while you watch it snow on your mountain top. (We do have 6 flat-screen satellite TVs and free wifi for insiders!)

Because we use vacation rentals when we travel, we know that a clean home with wonderful clean sheets are a must. You'll enjoy both - and more. Come and experience a houseful of Estes Park memories!

BY THE WAY - this is a NO SMOKING NO PETS property..

About Rick and Billie

Our family works together and vacations together. We own a home health, hospice, and private pay health care agency that serves central Oklahoma. We're also a 3rd generation farm and ranch family raising registered Angus cattle.

We all love open spaces, mountains and wildlife.

Rick and Billie purchased this house in 2010

Why Rick and Billie chose Estes Park

Estes Park has been a favorite vacation destination for our family that includes 9 grandchildren. We've visited during all seasons and have always had plenty for everyone to enjoy. The wildlife in the Park is incredible but when we saw the wildlife on this property, we decided to enjoy our own private wildlife viewing area. The best thing about our location is our location! It's close to town, too.

Come, relax. Be amazed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

You have a GREAT home with incredible views. During our stay we saw deer, elk, a fox, hummingbirds, bats and a bear visited twice. Our boys had a lot of fun exploring and we all enjoyed the hikes.

Thank you again!!

Privacy and Proximity

  • 5 of 5

Our crew had a wonderful time visiting Estes Park and environs from our "home base" at Rick & Billie's home approximately 20 minutes from Estes Park. The location provides great privacy yet is close enough to Estes Park and great hiking, both close to the house and in Rocky Mountain National Park. The house is spacious and provided ample accommodations for our group of 8 adults and 3 infants. The house was clean and well equipped. The information provided by the owners, Rick & Billie, in advance of our visit was most helpful. The views from the home's decks are wonderful.

Perfect Peaceful Get Away Location

  • 5 of 5

We (7 adults) spent a week in this beautiful Mountaintop Chalet. The house was spic and span when we arrived. The house is huge -- so much so, that we only used the lower level for laundry and showers. The patio was our favorite place to gather, eat and relax as the view is amazing, plus the hot tub and fire pit were nice additions on cool evenings. The house is located close enough to Estes Park to enjoy shopping and eating out, but yet it is remote enough if you want to be away from everyone and just enjoy nature. There are several close trails nearby. The drive in and out to the house (from both directions) is beautiful. Internet worked perfectly. Nice, large, fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals. I would definitely recommend this rental for your Colorado vacation, I can't imagine wanting for anything more than this rental provides. I hope we can someday stay there again. Also the owners are very nice to deal with! Other recommendations: Wild Rose (Estes Park) for dinner, Wanderlust Rafting (ask for guide Eric), Laura's Fine Candies (Estes Park) for ice cream. Trail Ridge Road (Estes Park to Grand Lake) for a beautiful drive. FYI if planning on doing ghost tour at Stanley Hotel, make reservations ASAP, they book up months in advance!

Amazing Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our family vacation. The kids and adults loved the house. It was clean and very comfortable and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. The house had nice sheets and towels and the laundry facilities were nice to have. We loved eating on the deck and enjoying the amazing views. Without hesitation I would recommend this rental, whether it's a large group of friends or for a family. What a great time and great house to experience it in!

Rocky Mountain Heaven

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in the Rockies, and could not have found a more beautiful place to stay. Here's what is in store for you: a chalet up on the side of a mountain, a patio with an unforgettable view, plus plenty of seating for outdoor dining, a hot tub, grill, and fire pit for marshmallows in the evening, 3 stories of beautiful and uniquely decorated bedrooms, family rooms and dining areas, wonderful beds, fresh air and fans when needed, a mixture of showers and tubs - take your pick!, a large and well stocked kitchen upstairs with a complimentary basket of tasty fruit, plus a laundry room and bonus kitchen on the first floor. And the Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park are just a short drive away! There was also wifi and quite a few televisions in the home, but we spent most of our time outdoors. Thanks again for the perfect vacation!

Couples Vacation to Estes Park/Cheyenne Wyoming

  • 5 of 5

We (5 couples from Texas) had a wonderful time at this vacation home in Estes Park. The house was 'First Class' and we felt right at home. Everyone could do whatever they wanted while at the house, walking, reading, TV, hot tub, or just relaxing. We made the Rodeo in Cheyenne, Estes Park shopping (girls made it twice), rented a pontoon party barge on Lake Estes, and went to the Rocky Mountain National Park on its 100 Year Anniversary, which we didn't know.

We took pictures of deer outside the house doors, windows and the deck, which made the mornings and evenings interesting to wait and see what might show up. We took home a lot of good memories and pictures.

Thanks for sharing your vacation home with us!
