Evans Wilderness Area on 50 private acres featuring hiking/snowshoeing trails, two fishing ponds, the West Chicago Creek, wildlife galore including moose, & elk, and 360 views. Vail, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Keystone & Loveland are all less than an hour’s drive away. Grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and shopping are located in Idaho Springs and Georgetown just up the road. The Bear Paw Cabin features room for 5 guests with luxury down bedding, two wood fireplaces, 1.5 updated baths, and a new deck for stargazing. Bring your cross country skis and enjoy the private trails right out your front door or drive just 13 miles up to Echo Mountain on Mt Evans to ski or tube; world-class Alpine skiing is nearby at Loveland just 20 mins away or a bit further to Vail, Breck and Keystone!

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Never leave trash outside over night. Bring directly to the dumpster near the road/mailboxes. Key hangs on hook near front door.
Wash all your dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils. Wipe counters down. Clean up any extraordinary messes you, a pet, or a child may have made.
Checkout is 11am.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
All animals must be disclosed. $300 per pet fee.
Maximum occupancy is 5. We have exterior monitoring devices. If more than 5 people are present, you will be required to leave immediately w/no refund.
Wash all your dishes, clean up extraordinary messes; bring your trash to the dumpster behind the upper cabin near the road/mailboxes. It’s not locked.

Host was super friendly. The cabin is in this epic meadow with a beautiful pond. We saw moose both days we were there. They even had a bunch of board games and stuff to play. Very cool layout. You can see the mountains from every room in the cabin. Nice little fire pit outside, although we didn’t have time to use it. Highly recommend.

Serene Mountain Cabin

Really enjoyed our stay at this private, serene mountain cabin. Beautiful views, quiet location, and a nice, big cabin with everything you need.

Our stay was truly amazing. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The cabin is beautiful, secluded, and surrounded by a peaceful energy that brings deep spiritual calm. It has all the comforts you need, and everything was spotless and very clean. The hostess was kind, warm, and attentive at all times. This place touched our hearts, and we would love to return. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Property!!

This place was incredibly beautiful and was beyond what I had expected! The property was very quiet, secluded and peaceful. We were fortunate enough to see 3 Moose and a Beaver on the property during our stay! The ponds were full of Brook trout, and we were surrounded by Hummingbirds. This cabin met all my weekend getaway requirements and hopes! I am very thankful to the host for sharing and hope we can return soon!

Beautiful, Quiet area

I was hesitant to book a cabin with no reviews but decided to go for it but will not do it again. The property is beautiful and very quiet. You feel very secluded yet only 20 minutes from Idaho Springs. My main issue was cleanliness. I understand that mountain cabins may have more dust and bugs, however I do not expect to see dead flies, moths and spider webs in the windowsills throughout the cabin. The worst finding was mouse droppings along the fireplace and in the lower kitchen cabinets. No Dishwasher! It is not in the listing, however I expected a dishwasher because we have never stayed at a Mountain property that did not have one. The listing does mention luxury bedding and the bedding is very nice, the mattresses are not and appear to be a basic innerspring coil mattress and not very comfortable. The kitchen had dirty towels folded and left in the drawers. The handwashing dishrack was filthy and did not look like it has been used in some time which made me think all of the dishes were not properly cleaned so I washed everything prior to use. The refrigerator had fishing worms and grubs left which was a little surprising, but you are right next to a lake. Toaster oven was full of old crumbs. When you pay a cleaning fee I would hope that the basics are CLEAN and they were not. I had asked for a refund of our cleaning fee and included multiple photos of the state of the cabin- as I believe that is fair and never received a response back from the Property Manager.
