Lovely and relaxing setting

  • 5 of 5

My family was attending a wedding nearby. We were looking for a relaxing setting to spend the weekend together . . . and we found it with this property! The house had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again next time we're in the area.

Beautiful house on pretty section of river

  • 5 of 5

The pictures don't do the house justice. Each room is beautifully decorated and comfortable. We loved that each room has its own bathroom. It works well for 4 couples. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The waterfront is awesome to say the least. We had a blast tubing down small Rapids and using their rope swing. Will definitely come back to this property every year when we can!

Beautiful Riverfront Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property June 2-5, 2016. It is a lovely home with lots of charm & plenty of space for a large group. It is beautifully furnished, the beds are comfy & the linens were soft and inviting. It is well stocked with everything you need to enjoy family time & make delicious meals. We cooked mostly outside on the grill as it was nice to be able to have everyone on the patio while our grill masters cooked. We were a little scared of the white kitchen countertops, as they were new & we didn't want to stain them. The deck was large and the screened sitting porch saved us during the few times it rained on us. We loved being able to stay dry while still having that outside experience. The yard is lush and large & we had lots of ladder golf games there! Every part of the property is well thought out, comfortable & easy to get from one area to the next. The river was up during our stay due to heavy rainfall earlier in the month, so the water was not the luxurious green that we are accustomed to, but more like chocolate milk, but it made for GREAT rapids in our kayaks. The house is perfectly situated near a great little "rapids" and its close enough (if you are adventurous) to kayak down to Ingram Lake and back. If you stay here, I recommend burgers at the Hunt Store at least once & delicious fresh meat for grilling from the butcher at the Ole Ingram Grocery. We loved the house & are thankful the owners are willing to share their lovely family home with us.

Enjoyed as I have on past visits to the site! The refurbishing they have done to the house and rock cabin is super--great job! The whole place is very comfortable and the water front and toys are a real plus. We were four couples and had plenty of space and privacy. The lower patio with the super BBQ grill is a real plus also.

Wonderful Place

  • 4 of 5

We had a roommate reunion and the house suited us wonderfully. The newly-remodeled kitchen and the new back deck were fabulous, and the view couldn't be beat. Everything we needed was provided. Would recommend that listing information include that bedrooms and one bath are "shotgun" style, i.e. you have to walk through 2 bedrooms and a bath to get to bedroom 3. It worked for us, but might not for all groups. And for older people or those with mobility issues, even though the house is one story, be aware adjoining rooms are often one step up or down. We hope to return; the overall experience was delightful.

Good times on the Guadalupe

  • 4 of 5

Stay was once again very good. But the low level of water and the slower flow of the river was a negative this time. Two years ago we were in the same house here and conditions were better. This trip we had a bout with a disease caused by ingesting the river water that was contaminated with animal fecal matter. This was diagnosed by a doctor after one of our group suffered extreme vomiting and diaherria. The house is perfect for 4 couples because all four have their own bathroom. The view on the river is excellent and the ambience has been upgraded the past 2 years. It is clean and well managed. There are many nearby activities and restaurants to be taken advantage of. In spite of the illnesses, a good time was had by all at our annual summer reunion.
