Perfect getaway to enjoy the sunsets on the lake each night. Would be perfect for snowbirds wanting to get away from the cold and snow in the north during the winter. Private lake where fishing is great. This is a wooded area and the house sits on 1.2 acres.

Canoe and paddles are onsite. There is also a jon boat with oars. You can also launch your own boat from the property.

Roast marshmallows over a camp fire and eat either on the dock or the picnic table.

Enjoy swimming, fishing, and canoeing on a beautiful, private, spring-fed lake.

Disney World or the Orlando area attractions are about a 2 hour drive. Busch Gardens and other Tampa Bay area attractions are about a 2 hour drive.

Definitely a Five Star Lake House!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for the family(and extended family)! We enjoyed the comfort of the indoors and the "roughing it" in the outdoors! The dock and beach area along with the large yard area are perfect for a family to get away together without being "all together". Some of us would fish, a couple of us went out in the boat, while the kids would play along the sandy beach. We enjoyed the outdoor ping pong, watching the beautiful sunset and built a campfire for smores! The pinball machines and dvd players are a plus for indoor fun. Great living area for getting together for a movie night! We appreciated the downstairs bedroom for its privacy for our parents who joined us for a night. The house comes filled with basic supplies to get you started, plenty of bedding and towels, very clean! Thank you for your hospitality Greg, we will be seeing this five star lake house again!

Wonderful quite setting, great lake

  • 4 of 5

The place was clean, modern. Liked it being so isolated. The lake is awesome, esp at sun set. A few deficits, mostly the lack of robust internet access. The Hot Spot Greg has is very limited, you can only access emails, as there is only a gig of data available. This is a problem when there are more than 2 people needing to get on the web. We had to go into the Hawthorne Library to finish our work. Also, there is limited dining space in the kitchen, via a small breakfast bar. Lastly, the second bedroom opens into the garage, then the person has to walk upstairs. There is a picnic table by the lake, great ambiance for our Thanksgiving meal.

Great for Gator Games

  • 5 of 5

Unable to find a hotel for a recent Gator football game a friend of mine recommended checking out VRBO. Not only did we save big money on what we would have spent on a hotel, we had a great place in the country to fish, grill and chill. All amenities were as advertised and pictured, and having the pinball machines available for play was great. Enjoyed a few bonfires, spent time fishing(sadly no luck) and did some canoeing. When it came time for the game we were only about 20 - 30 minutes away. And since the house is east of campus there was much less traffic afterwards on the way back than if we had been out west. I would recommend this over a hotel any time. Also a nice place to get away from it all in a great country setting - would definitely do it again. Thanks, mate!!

A Slice of Heaven on Earth

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our wonderful 3 night stay. This little slice of Heaven on Earth was easy to find (thanks for the good directions), clean and nicely decorated. I loved the showers! Great water pressure. Lots of hot water. The property was beautiful, the lake pleasantly warm, and the sunsets magical. We took advantage of the convenient shopping at the Hitchcock's and Dollar General in Hawthorne. Rested, read, watched movies, and played in the water. Looking forward to going back and trying out the fishing.

Great price, Great time

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! Very relaxing. It was a great getaway. The kids loved the canoe and the floating dock. The house was in great condition and very comfortable. The pinball machines were a plus. We loved playing the one in the garage. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, this is a great place to do it.
