The Happy Rooster is a 1,254sqft super cute cottage, newly remodeled, nestled in the rolling hills of Franklin County, by Smith Mountain Lake. Great wifi! Brand new 7 person hot tub! Enjoy various fruit trees in front yard during season. Spacious porch to enjoy sunrise, sunset and the sounds of nature. Both kids and adults love to enjoy the interaction amongst the vast array of farm animals including bunnies, sheep, goats, chickens, and horses. Spend the evening by the firepit or inside playing one of the numerous games available for all. Relish on a mile or two peaceful stroll, surrounded by farms to the end of the cul-de-sac. 10 minutes from Smith Mountain Lake, 15 minutes to Rocky Mount. 10 minutes to Blackwater Junction and the Salt Spa. Within 20 minutes of Copper Cove Golf Course & Waters Edge Golf Course. 18minutes to Harvester Performance Center, 10 minutes to Magnum Point Marina. Also enjoy several spas and wineries in the area.

Amazing experience!

My two friends and I came for a long weekend, and it was perfect. The hosts were so helpful and easy to communicate with and were very thoughtful about our trip. The house was beautiful with lots of new appliances and so clean. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a get away!

Great weekend!! The home is so clean & beautiful!! The area is so beautiful & relaxing!! Property owners were so kind & quick to respond to any questions. We had the best weekend stay here & would highly recommend!! Will be coming back in the future!! :)

My wife Kathryn and I are from Smith Mountain Lake, we love to travel and find ways to make our short term rentals the best experience a guest can have. We want our guests to feel like they are home, and for them to create beautiful memories. We currently have two short term rentals: The Happy Rooster and Westlake Getaway. Each of them are uniquely different from a lake experience to farm animal experience. Both homes are private where guests can feel safe, and allow their family and friends to have fun and relax. We are only a short distance away and are always available when a guest reaches out.

Why they chose this property

Westlake Getaway -we chose as it is right in the heart of Smith Mountain Lake, has a lake feel with being .5 mile from the lake itself. It is in a very safe neighborhood and has plenty of room for families and friends to enjoy.

The Happy Rooster- we chose as it is on our farm and we wanted others to enjoy the peaceful surrounds of privacy, nature, animals, mountain & field views.

Westlake Getaway is unique because of all the activities to do inside the home, the peaceful screened-in porch where everyone loves to gather in and the hot tub. All beds are super comfortable, new furniture, and we make sure the home is very clean.

The Happy Rooster is unique because of the privacy, animals and peace it offers everyone. The furniture is new, beds super comfy and very clean. Our returning guests tell us it is because of the unique experience the Happy Rooster has to offer.
