Comfortable vacation home

  • 4 of 5

This property is located perfectly to take advantage of the inviting town of Frisco and the beauty and activities the surrounding mountains offer. We were a three generation family group of 16 ranging in ages 4-63. It housed us comfortably. Kitchen is not huge, but is very well stocked for large groups and open so seems larger than it is and has plenty of counter space. Owners are very easy to work with and available if needed. Yard is a great size for relaxing outdoors and has plenty of seating.

Awesome!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at the cabin was very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed Frisco, and the location was very convenient to Main Street and the Marina Bay.

Location, location, location

  • 4 of 5

We had a group of 13 people stay at the MarDeis. Even though it technically can sleep more than that, I don't recommend having more people there. I suggest 10-14 max. It's a very funky property, with doors and rooms everywhere, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. Although the kitchen is quite small it is FULLY equipped, including spices and sugar and other staples. The previous tenants had left behind their unused food which was really great - we did the same. The living room was a great place for all of us to congregate. And the location was PERFECT! Easy walking distance to the main street of Frisco, and the Summit Shuttle stops. A great place for a group that wants to be together.

Great location, lots of space

  • 5 of 5

This is a great winter vacation spot, only 10 minute drive to Breckenridge slopes. I stayed here with a group of 7 and the place is large enough for everyone to have a bed (we did have 2 sets of couples). All the amenities made for a nice stay, with the bonus of a great outdoor hot tub after a day of skiing. The hosts are a bit particular about the rules of the house (no shoes, turn down heat, etc.) but that was not a problem!

A Comfortable Mountain Retreat for a Thanksgiving Holiday

  • 4 of 5

Our group of family members were impressed with the location. We had plenty of comfortable beds and the tables accommodated all 14 of us for the Thanksgiving feast. The great room with the wide-screen television was an especially relaxing environment for us to visit, talk, play games and relax by the fireplace. We were most thankful for the wonderfully furnished kitchen, the free wi-fi, wood-burning stove, quiet neighborhood, clean water and air. Our family would likely stay again, or at least share the idea with other large families.

Roomy, but dated

  • 3 of 5

Being together as a family is our #1 priority. As always we had a good time. The house was clean, kitchen had everything needed for cooking, the front yard was a good gathering place, it was close to town, bike and hiking trails and there were enough beds for the 15 of us. The house is dated and in need of repairs. The carpets need to be replaced, floor tiles cracked, wallpaper and molding coming off, holes in walls and the windows on the main floor are sealed shut. There is no cross ventilation and it gets hot, especially in the bedroom on that level.

I would stay in Frisco again, but not at this property.

Owner's Response: We are sorry this group did not like our home. We advertise this home as a rustic property and have it priced accordingly. As an older cabin we are constantly working to keep it in good shape. The comment, carpets need to be replace is we feel inaccurate. We have the whole house carpets professionally cleaned once a year, and I do not understand what she is talking about. They are in good condition. She also mentions tiles are cracked. The floor in the dining room and kitchen are tile and the cabin floor keeps shifting as it is an older home. We have replaced these tiles a number of times. The few cracks do not affect the usability of this property. The windows on the main floor are single pane, and we have storm windows on them to maintain warmth. Most guests appreciate this. We do not market this property as a high end lodge, and we price it accordingly. We state it is an older mountain cabin, 2 blocks from the middle of main street, with a large yard, redwood deck and top of the line private hot tub. This group was a group of 17 and we discounted the price to $372 per night. That works out to $21.89 per person per night! You will not find a comparable property with this location for anything close to this price. For the size and location we feel this is a great value. We take a great deal of time and effort to keep this property clean and in top condition, but as an older mountain cabin, there are things that cannot compete with the newer log homes, but it is not priced the same. You will find this home clean and cozy. We have many very satisfied customers in this home over the last 20 + years. We never want to hear guests do not appreciate our property but we have learned over the years, we cannot please everyone.
