I am a real estate broker in Citrus County and love my job. There is always someone new to meet. We moved here from Miami in 1997 to get away from the fast paced way of life and crime. Citrus County is like a breath of fresh air.
Come experience why we chose Floral City. You will love it.
Darlene Gottus purchased this cottage in 1997
This is our guest cottage on our farm where we raise Cattle. We are part of the growing Agri-Tourism trend of city dwellers wanting to refresh their systems and experience nature at its best. Our personal guests all love to come here and stay so we decided to share it with others when it is not in use by family and friends.
There is a sense of peace and serenity here yet we are so close to everything. Come find out for yoursel why we love it here.
This is a private, peaceful cabin that I don't want anyone else to know about so we can rent it :-)
The cabin and the owners are perfect for the vacationer that enjoys peaceful privacy along with wildlife and beautiful surroundings. We loved our stay and look forward to staying again. Thank you Darlene&Aaron
This little cabin offers renters the opportunity to relax in a peaceful setting and there is absolutely no snow to shovel! You can lounge out on the porch and watch the sand hill cranes or drive less than 4 miles and ride your bike on the 46 mile long Withlacoochee Trail. Darlene and Aaron are very considerate hosts greeting us with farm fresh eggs upon our arrival and sharing tips on local restaurants. We look forward to returning.
My husband and I were fortunate to find this little gem of a rental in which to spend the month of March. It was incredibly cozy and private and a short drive to one of the best biking trails in Florida. There are many restaurant choices in nearby Inverness. Darlene was personable and friendly and was very helpful in sharing the best places to eat and also to buy local produce. We can't wait to return to this relaxing cabin.
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Cabin. A great place to get away from the cold North. We enjoyed the animals both domestic an wild. Nice location for walks and bike riding. Floral City is a wonderful slice of Old Florida with a very nice Art Center and a major bike trail that runs through the village. I enjoyed the quiet for painting and relaxing on the porch. One highlight was going on an airboat ride with Arron. Both Darlene and Arron were very accommodating and made us feel at home. We plan on returning.
Last night, I had a dream about this cottage, which reminded me that I hadn’t posted a review about it! I’m fixing that now. :)
My husband and I spent our weeklong honeymoon in this little cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was clean, quiet, and charming. The location is just beautiful; we loved walking along the road every day, enjoying the scenery and wildlife. We appreciated having the option of cooking our meals and doing our laundry. It was a little home away from home.
We also enjoyed local attractions, such as the nearby Rails to Trails walking/bike path, and the art gallery in Floral City. Inverness is a nearby town, and we were able to find everything we needed there. For eating out in Inverness, we especially liked El Ranchito (Mexican) and Joe’s Family Restaurant. It was nice to have amenities so close, while still feeling like we were away from the world.
This was our second year in a row my wife and I stayed at this peaceful cottage. As we drove thru the gate, it felt like we were coming home again. Darlene, Aaron & family really make you feel welcome. If you want to experience Old Florida, Floral City is it. Public boat launch is only 2 miles up the road if you want to fish or canoe. It is centrally located so there are lots of attractions within 1-3 hours. Also the Withlacoochee Bike Trail is in Floral City. We love it here and will definitely be coming back.
