About this property

Hummingbird Hideaway is the perfect relaxing mountain retreat! Close to PSU!

WINTER NOTICE: Hummingbird Hideaway is at the very top of our beautiful mountain so stravel during the wwinter can be difficult. The road leading to the mountain is unpaved, does not have guardrails, and is not maintained. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is required during snowfall or ice storms for safety reasons.

Step away from the noise and chaos at our beautiful mountain hideaway. Located on 168 acres of mountain, you'll be surrounded by trees, wildlife and spectacular views. Named after the hundreds of hummingbirds that pass through our land throughout the summer, you be astounded at how up close and personal you'll get with our beautiful, feathered friends. And if you love to watch other wildlife, you're sure to see white tail deer, black bear, and other furry and feathered friends!

Our cabin details include:

~ 3050 sq. ft.
~ 4 bedroom
~ Loft room with two double futon beds plus a swinging hammock chair
~Large open floor plan living room with electric reclining couches
~ 3 full baths
~ Large open floor plan overlooking the valley below (you'll wake up above the cloud line!)
~ Beautiful white pine interior (floors, walls, ceilings)
~ Full kitchen with double oven, dishwasher and microwave (all appliances included)
~ Heated tile floors in kitchen, entry way, and master bathroom
~ Wrap-around porch with swings and swinging hammock chairs
~ Outdoor firepit (fire wood included)
~ Free wifi (Starlink Satilite Internet)
~ All amenities included including: Hummingbird Hideaway shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, hotel grade linens and lush Turkish towels, cotton products, small appliances (toaster, coffee pot, electric griddle), dishes (dinner plates, dessert plates, bowls, mugs), silverware, cooking utensils, measuring cups and bowls, kitchen linens, board and card games, puzzles, etc.

NOTE: Traveling to our cabin requires driving up a dirt lane mountain road. Once on our lane, it's a mixture of gravel and dirt with drainage ruts cut into the lane. Extremely low vehicles are not suggested. Standard vehicle height is fine. Also, this is a true mountain cabin so wildlife of all kinds may be seen. Use standard hiking precautions and stay on trails. Area wildlife includes: whitetail deer, black bears, black snakes, rattlesnakes, bald eagles, hawks, turkeys, porcupines, coyotes, and more! Remember, they are afraid of you so give them space and NEVER approach wildlife of any sort.

Penn state weekend was a blast!
Very cool large house perfect for a college reunion during the white out! The house is 30 mins from campus which wasn’t that bad. Tons of space, gorgeous house. I’d stay here again in the future!

escape to the woods
this cabin is perfect for an escape from the world. tons of space. the house is beautiful. great kitchen stocked with all items needed. The hummingbirds are unbelievable. The view is stunning! plenty of towels and linens. Nikki, the local helper, was awesome and so sweet. Heather, the owner was very responsive. Our only problem was no wifi and the cell service was spotty especially driving to the cabin.. Make sure you have the directions correct before you head into the mountains or you could get lost. We were in town for an event at Penn state. Its a 40 minute drive to campus but worth it for the house and views from the mountain. We would definitely stay again if available for our dates.
