Had a great time

Amazing location and view. I’ve been to many beach front houses and this location tops it all. 5 steps down and you’re on the beach. House is old but its got nice charm to it and is beautiful. We found no bugs at all so that was very nice.We loved this house so much it made us sad to leave. Two suggestions would make this house even better.1. So many light/fan switches it was very confusing. It would be nice if they were labeled.2. Charcoal grill was broken. Thats a must.

Awesome Beach House

Perfect location right on the sand with beautiful views of the Atlantic. We saw dolphins swim by. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Very close to St. Augustine and Anastasia Island. Spacious with a well stocked kitchen. Would stay here again.Would and An

Awesome beach house

This home on the beach has everything you need and the location is great! 5 minutes to historic St. Augustine, minutes to great restaurants and a beach we nearly had to ourselves!

Beach is steps away from back deck

Great spot on quiet Vilano Beach. Beach is very much the home's back yard; no 'process' (ex- multiple access gates, codes to remember, long walks, etc) of getting down to the sand and water. Very easy to run-up to the house, if needed, making it great for those with younger kids. House as-advertised. Would definitely stay here again.

Beach Stay

The location in combination with the cost is great. The house however is not great. The overhead garage door does not lock so you will need to make sure the door with the deadbolt is locked. Once you get into the main door you need to be careful because the floor boards are either rotted out from water or termite damage. One can easily fall through the floor. The house is very choppy. Bedrooms all connect together. They are missing simple things. For example there is only one very small spatula. The fan in the master bathroom does not work. Lighting in the bathroom is also very bad with the non working fan light as your only light source. There is a skylight but it is covered in mildew and mold. The beach is beautiful and the sand is perfect.

Spring Vacation Vilano Beach - St Augustine

We really enjoyed this unique house! It has every amenity we could possibly think of. The location was excellent! Very close to the activities of St Augustine but directly on the beach that was never crowded. Being in a big, clean, pet-friendly beach was the best! Our property manager was quick and easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend this house for others!

Family Beach Get Away

Stay was great! We have never been to St Augustine and we wanted to be able to walk out onto the beach. House was clean and all had room and comfortable beds. Has all you need and a great indoor porch to read when the heat of the day kicks in. Nice and close to St Augustine downtown and a food store 2 minutes down the stream. The beach is amazingly quiet and clean and the water was perfect. Loved to see the dolphins ever morning and evening.

Relaxing Retreat

Such an amazing location and a wonderful find. My whole family absolutely loved our week here! Everything about the listing was accurate. The house felt larger than the pictures showed and everything was very comfortable. The views here are absolutely amazing. We spent so much time on this trip enjoying the waves coming in and watching sunrises and sunset. The bonus of course was anytime we wanted, we were right on the beach. We absolutely will be back again! Thanks for a wonderful week!

Relaxing Christmas vacation on the Beach

This house was true to the description. It is spacious and comfortable. The large deck offers unobstructed views of the ocean with beautiful sunrises. The location is quiet and only a short drive to the bustling historic district of St. Augustine where you can enjoy all the tourist attractions as well as the beautiful lights of the Christmas season. We did experience a couple of unexpected maintenance issues but Petra was responsive and they were resolved. We enjoyed our time and hope to return.

What a perfect vacation!

Our family of five (parents and three college age adults) had a wonderful stay at this lovely house right on the beach. There was plenty of room for all of us, two bathrooms, two decks, and a great vibe. It had a vintage feel with all the updates we needed. We could enjoy the sun on the deck or go hang out on the beach, and we could even go up to the rooftop for more sunning or to watch the sunset. It really is the perfect beach house when we just wanted to hang out there, and it’s very close to good restaurants, jet skiing, kayaking, and all of the fun things to do in St. Augustine. The house was comfy and felt like our home away from home with personal touches that were very thoughtful. Thanks so much for such a wonderful spring break. We made a lot of fun memories. We’d love to stay there again!

No Better Location

To watch the sea. It's literally right outside the house, at high tide you could be on a ship. Vilano is chill and a good spot for various day trips (such as Amelia Island, a really different feel from Jacksonville/St. Aug., very interesting). This month was our second time here. The house has a stylish beach vibe, comfortable furnishings, and everything we needed to eat in. It wasn't hard to find restaurants that deliver through Grub Hub during pandemic times. The rental process was efficient and house entry perfectly easy. All in all, couldn't be sorrier to be writing this back home!

Girls trip

The house was great. We had never been to the area so FL was new to us. The week we went there was some sort of weather front that hovered over us all week…high surfs, high wind, rain….so we never had any sand time at all…it wasn’t the place, it was the circumstances…but there was so much to do in St. Augustine that we had a wonderful time. The restaurants were all excellent, shopping was good, lots of tourist things to do, we even went and did a painting thing…so fun. We loved the cottage, it was really well equipped…they even had beach towels but we couldn’t go out. The kitchen was well equipped and it was close to Publix so we could eat at home if we choose. I would highly recommend…it was a really nice place…the weather just didn’t cooperate for us all week long.

100% Satisfaction

We spent a week in January 2021 at On the Rocks, and it was the perfect antidote to 2020. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped, the heat works very well (often not true in other vacation rentals we have had) and so do the showers. The decks for watching the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over the Intercoastal waterway were such a treat, and we also spent great relaxation time in the sunroom overlooking the ocean when it wasn't deck weather. There is a great sense of privacy about the property, even though there are next door neighbors. You can hear road noise from A1A from the bedrooms, but the direct sunrise exposure meant we were up early anyway. Vilano Beach is wide and walkable, not at all crowded during our stay. It is a very residential neighborhood, not at all commercialized as parts of A1A are. Particular shout-outs to The Reef restaurant, whose take-out meals (and cocktails!) offered creative options like smoked duck piquillo peppers as well as the best grouper I've ever had. Delivery by Grub Hub from Salt Life restaurant was also excellent and timely. Given Covid world, our only non-house activities were walking on nature trails, and we found 5 different options within a half hour's drive of the house, including formal gardens and a state park. Amazing. Working with Ms Roberts was a pleasure. She responded to a problem with immediate action and was well-organized and communicative throughout the process. I only wish we had stayed longer!

Beautiful home, but communication lacking

First off this house is absolutely beautiful and very practical for having multiple people stay. Me a bridal party stayed for an extended weekend to celebrate our best friend's wedding. We chose this home specifically for the title of "Oceanfront" views and descriptions of being able to walk right out onto the beach...unfortunately this did not happen. Dredging was happening directly in front of the house, it was very loud and literally shook the house on through the night for the entirety of our stay. We were not allowed to step foot onto the beach, and naturally our "OceanFront view" consisted of a rusted pipe and construction vehicles. I know that the owner of course had no power over this, however we were never informed of the dredging prior to our stay. We were even more disappointed to hear that a handful of other VRBO and Airbnb homes from relatives of the bride had been informed of the dredging at least a day before their arrival and had been accommodated with either another property, a free night's stay, or a discount of some sort. When addressing our concerns to the owner (specifically by a very upset bride) our plea was dismissed. Again, this place was lovely, and I understand that the owner could not help the dredging, I'm just disheartened by the lacking ideals of customer service.

Another Great Time On The Rocks

Annual family vacation

This home is exactly as described. This was our second stay here. It was enough room for our family of six. To have the ocean right in the backyard was awesome. If you are looking for a great place to stay, look no further.
