Charming Bunk Cottage on Beautiful Bay Beach!

Crystal Bay Rentals - Our charming bunkhouse is one of two properties on our rare 2-acre lot right on Bay Beach. This 3 bedroom cottage is great for the whole family. It bring you back to a simpler time with your family &friends, without all of life's distractions. 



We have a fantastic screened in porch with a dining table, couch and chairs. We love spending our morning out here having breakfast, or our evenings playing board games. Beach lover? No problem. You can share our private beach for some fun in the sun! Our house is all on one level. There is one small step from the ground to the sunroom deck, but that is all. The main living area is open concept with two seating areas, a decorative fireplace, and the kitchen. All 3 bedrooms and both bedrooms are located in the back of the house. The driveway has parking for 2 cars. You will have full, private access to the house. 



It is keyless and contactless entry. If you need anything during your stay, we will locally and are available to help in any way possible. We are flexible on check in and out times. If you are looking for early check in or out, we will do what we can to accomodate us. Just ask ahead of time! There is a $50 fee. 



We are only a message or call away. If you need anything before, during or after your stay, we pride ourselves on being very accessible, as we live locally. 



We have lovely neighbours who tend to keep to themselves. Many of them have lived here happily for many years and are very friendly. It is a very quiet area. We are tucked back toward the waterfront, far from the road. You can walk to almost everywhere, but biking and driving would be the fastest way to get around. We are minutes from the Friendship Trail, which is a long paved trail for walking, running, cycling, or rollerblading. Very close to the fun! Minutes from restaurants, shops & the beach! 



This home is a licensed short term rental and we look forward to hosting you and your family. Licence # STR-000172 No smoking inside the house. HST excluded in price. Minimum age requirement is 25 years old. We are happy to host your pet as well. Additional $75 fee for pets will be charged. Please contact for other inquiries.

Relaxing get away

Very cute cottage with everthing we needed to enjoy ourselves. The private beach was nice. The TV with Netflix was a nice added feature. Id definitely book again.

Amazing cottage loaded with charm

Spent two nights here and had a wonderful time. The cottage definitely exceeded expectations! Fully stocked with everything you may need. Lots of privacy, easy access to the beach and a very accommodating host. The cottage itself is loaded with charm, clean and very well kept. The covered veranda was great for playing cards bug-free at night and a perfect spot for breakfast. You’re only a 10-15 minute walk to the main entrance of Crystal Beach, which you can do along the road or along the beach. Will be back next year for sure. Perfect for families or a few couples looking to have a relaxing time at the beach

Pleasant cottage with beach access

My elderly husband and I, our son and 10 year old grandson enjoyed our four days at the very clean, roomy cottage with screened porch which is not on the beach but has access). The beautiful beach is great for swimming. However we were unable to get in for about an hour when we arrived on a hot, humid day because there is a trick to opening the door ( which has a key code) we were not apprised of. We appealed to the nice neighbors in the front cottage who tried the door and couldn’t get in either. I finally was able to reach vrbo customer service which called the owner who sent someone over to rescue us. He noted you have to pull the door toward you. Maybe include this in the instructions? And include a contact phone in the emailed cottage instructions? That info is available inside the cottage but doesn’t help if you can’t get in.

Hi Alice. Thanks for taking the time to review us. We send out all of the entry information a week ahead of check in with all details, including the back up lock box. If you had an issue with the keypad, the lock box right beside the door as a backup. Our phone number is also in the chat and we answer 100% of calls. Regardless, we are happy that all was great once you got in! All the best!

Lots of space, but not so bright and new as the photos make it look. Smelled very musty and had a dehumidifier running in the kitchen that filled every day, demonstrating how damp it is. The kitchen drawers don't open without opening the dishwasher or oven doors to clear handles. The screened in porch is nice, but overgrown with weeds around and the grill pictured in the ad is not useable and rusted and dirty.The BBQ cart seemed ready to fall apart and the bunkhouse itself is not at all private. It looks out to a wide open field, between driveways and carports, making it a bit of a fishbowl feel with blinds open in bedrooms. The grass was uncut and the property overall wasn't very well kept.The other completely inaccurate thing in the ad is Lakeview. There is absolutely no lake view. Access to the beach is via what made us feel like trespassers between two houses. The ropes and posts installed by the neighbors, while we were there, made it clear they aren't happy about a rental property. It's also the only part of beach where neighbors have roped off boundaries. Clearly they are unhappy and our family could feel the stares of hatred as we walked through the disgnated area to reach the beach. We only went a couple of times because it was so uncomfortable.10AM checkout is also early, but we knew that.The rooms and beds were comfortable and spacious, and the bathrooms were nice as well.The host was nice and responsive, so no issues at all from that perspective.
