Good Vacation / Great Service

Not up to par this time

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The 2nd floor AC was not working upon arrival. We notified via text and when no response, had to call the emergency line. They sent someone out the next morning but it was nearly noon and a hot night. Before the HVAC repair folks came out the next day we noticed that the food left overnight in the fridge was not cold and the shower downstairs was not draining. Before the fridge repair person arrived, we noticed the ice in the bowl had melted over night in the freezer. The repair person found something wrong with both units and said the fridge was 60 degrees likely not keeping our food cool enough to be safe. While the AC was repaired and we were given two smaller fridge/freezer units temporarily to use during our stay, it sure felt like we should have been compensated for all the trouble. The beach construction going on in front of our house lasted all week so it was more challenging to get beach access, while not the fault of the rental, it piled on with the other issues. Not the trip we hoped for this time.

We understand how frustrating it was to arrive to an AC problem and then discover the refrigerator/freezer and downstairs shower issues as well. While our team did work to address each issue as quickly as possible, we recognize that having to deal with repairs and temporary appliances during your vacation is not the experience you expected. We are also sorry that the beach construction added another inconvenience to your stay. While that work was outside of our control, we certainly understand how it compounded an already disappointing experience. We truly regret that this was not the relaxing vacation you had hoped for and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention.

Very dated and sparsely furnished the entire first floor had no blinds. Had to sit at breakfast with sunglasses on. Everyone complained about their beds and lack of blinds in the rooms. The four story home has an elevator, but the owner won’t let you use it. Had two women in their mid 70s recently with knee replacement they never saw the top floor. Wouldn’t stay here if it was free.

We do want to note that the photos in the listing accurately reflect the home’s furnishings and layout so guests can make an informed decision prior to booking. Additionally, the elevator is clearly noted in the listing as not being available for guest use. For clarity, all bedrooms in the home are equipped with either plantation shutters or blinds. The large living room windows are intentionally left open to showcase the beautiful views, which many guests—and the owner—greatly appreciate. The owner has chosen to preserve that open, bright feel rather than obstruct it. We understand how important comfort and privacy are—especially in a multi-level home—and we appreciate your comments regarding the beds and overall experience. Love being on the beach with this home

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great week and weather cooperated. Nice restaurants on the island. Would like new furniture with enough to seat 8-10. Could include a second chair on top deck. Please replace the door lock. Very difficult to lock and unlock. Left house unlocked all week. Lights are all labeled. Would be nice to stock and label kitchen cabinets. The blender was from two different blenders but didn’t fit or work. Master bedroom stays warmer and difficult to regulate. Consider taking jacuzzi out and replace with shower/ tub. Coffee pot takes 20 minutes to brew. Had time to take stuff to beach and come back and still not done. Replace. Just a little TLC would make a difference. The number of rooms was nice to handle our growing family. Thanks for a second great year.

Can't get a better view!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cannot beat the view!! Listening to the ocean from the back porch at sunrise & sunset is hard to beat. The rental company was wonderful - provided a lot of information to help plan our visit (was a first time in this area for us) and answered all my questions, very pleasant and willing to help. There are many comments in previous reviews that were spot on.The door lock (only door in and out) is horrible. We ended up only locking it at night. It's not an easy process and the actual key does not work well in the lock. The chairs on the back deck - where you spend a great deal of time - really needs cushions. They are heavy wooden chairs and uncomfortable. We could not get living room lights or fan to work. Hot water runs in some showers, and not in others, especially master bath.The master bath shower has jets, they do not work, and shower is TINY. You need to bring everything with you for the kitchen. There are a few pans and one casserole pan - but bring everything else you need yourself. Contrary to other reviews - there IS a Keurig coffee maker and works great. You can fit 3 cars comfortable underneath in garage - BUT when you put garage up and down you have to hold the button the whole time. Outdoor shower is inside the garage in the back, not outside someplace, but convenient before walking up stairs to go inside. Finally, the refrigerator was on the coldest setting but it didn't keep things very cold. just FYI. There are really just 4 spots to sit in the living room - the couch is just two pieces to a bigger couch possibly, pushed together, along with 2 chairs. If you have a huge family/group coming - there is not a lot of places to sit in the one area for sitting offered. All in all - the house worked well mainly due to the location and the view. However, just want future renters to be prepared for some of these issues. Didn't lessen our enjoyment of our vacation and definitely can't b

Please know that the 2 large SubZero Refrigerator and Freezer, just went through an over haul and are now up and cooling. Family Annual Beach Trip

The overall appearance of the main living floor could use some updating and cosmetic improvements. When we first arrived the first floor had some ac issues and the property management was prompt in addressing the issue.

Agree with other reviews that some areas of the house are dated but it would not deter me from recommending this house. Would definitely rent here again.

Can't beat the location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were pleasantly surprised that we could rent this property for the long weekend since the peak season hasn't yet started. Our appreciation for this property and management company continued upon our arrival when we were able to check-in a couple hours early and the pictures proved to be accurate reflections of the house. The location could not be better, right on the beach with great views, decks, and beach access right next door! This was the perfect property for our girls getaway with an open kitchen/living/dinning room concept. Everything was wonderful, with our only minor being the slightly outdated bathrooms and furniture. We still think this property was phenomal and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful view, lots of room

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved staying here. The view is fantastic and you can’t get any closer to the beach. Just a few steps out the back and you’re at the dunes. Five bedrooms and the master BR is gigantic with lots of windows. There were nine of us staying there, including three teenagers, and we had plenty of space for each other. Other reviews will say the furniture is outdated and the house needs some repair let me tell you this was a non-issue. The furniture was comfortable, and the repairs that are needed are cosmetic. I would gladly be this close to the beach at this price instead of being concerned about those issues. We’ve been to Wild Dunes several times and stayed at different places. We’re coming back here next time. You can’t beat the space, view and location at this price.

Lovely family vacation home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family loved our time in this home! The location is perfect- incredibly easy access to the beach. The house is lovely. The air conditioning kept up great with the size of the house. The main level living room would get pretty warm in the heat of the day, but would cool down quickly. We had several hiccups with the property (refrigerator issue and stove issues- both completely fixed) and were impressed by the property management's quick and kind responses. The rooms had great spaces. They upgraded all the televisions and installed a brand new grill the week before we arrived, so that was nice. The downstairs bedroom behind the kitchen got a little warm during the day, as well, but cooled off fine at night. The bonus room upstairs was a cozy retreat for our kids. The kitchen appliances were great. No complaints at all about our stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Rough nugget beautiful location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house needs attention and updating. The pots and pans are inadequate. There are plenty of dishes, which is good because many of them are cracked. A broken bedroom mirror had to be removed. The The grill was not operating and filthy. The dryer broke and the repair resulted in a operating dryer for 10 minutes. The beds are uncomfortable. The pillows are flat and old. The house is in the very best location, the last on the end of a row and the views are spectacular. We'd stayed in the house a few years ago and I remembered the beautiful beach but had forgotten about the interior. It would be a gem if it was spiffed up.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was perfect for me and my family. Space and views for days. Island Realty was nice and professional from the time I got the text to come by to pick up the keys and packet for check-in to the checkout. The process was so easy. The house was perfect for our NYE gathering. The only issue I say that people should know is that if you have problems with lots of stairs this may not be the type of setup especially if you have members that are elderly or have disabilities. The house has an elevator but not for use. The furniture on the top floor is dated, but it's enough seating for sure up there, but beautiful views. The refrigerator I read people had issues with it. What I don't think people realize is that the freezer is down at the bottom and the refrigerator part is up top. Found that out the next day when my veggies were frozen along with some drinks... LOL
