Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
The house was large and very nice. Beautiful fireplace! Much appreciated king beds in most bedrooms. Barware is mismatched or non existent. TV, cable and DVD system was very hard to navigate even with two 30 year old men! House certainly needs more towels considering the number of bedrooms and baths. Stargazing on golf course in backyard was a high light!
Stayed here for 2 weeks with extended family. We love sunriver and have come here for past 15 years.Have always gone through VRBO to rent. This is first time we have been disappointed.
The home is beautifully furnished, kitchen very well equipped with high quality pots and pans and - even has sharp knives! The round table in dining room is great for family dinners.
However, for this price point, many things were really not up to snuff. I know that things can go wrong with any home, but but these were so numerous as to become an ongoing joke "whats broken now?". I ended up spending a lot of time trying contacting owner and VACASA to get things fixed, even spent some of my own money, but was never offered any reimbursement for my time or efforts. And not everything was fixed.
I detailed the issues in a long email towards the end of my stay to owner and vacate but, nearly a month later, have received no reply so I am posting this to warn other possible tenants. Here is what we encountered:
One of the two dishwashers was broken upon our arrival and took several days to repair. The remote controlled electric window blinds do not work. The audio system was recently updated but all the instructions posted are still for the old system and are not relevant - required me to make multiple calls with audio specialist for instructions. One of the refrigerators malfunctioned and leaked water all over our food (when I reported this I was asked "did I take pictures of the ruined food?"). Only one garage door is usable by renters and it needed repair while we were there, would not close or open. The upstairs ice maker is broken and moldy (repairman told me it was a health hazard and should be gutted). One glass shower door in upstairs bedroom is broken and replaced with cheesy rod. Toilet in bunk room ran incessantly (an issue as this home is on touchy septic system). Patio outdoors recently rebuilt? not yet cemented in- so many pavers used as steps were completely unsecured and dangerous. This tripped me and a couple of guests. My elderly mom was not able to walk outside safely due to fall risk on loose pavers. Many burned out lights. And more minor issues that space precludes me from mentioning.
Upon arrival one of the first things noticed was how poorly the house had been cleaned. In one of the upstairs bedrooms there was a spilled bottle of prescription blood pressure medication.Very dangerous considering the small children in the home. In the same room there was a bottle of hairspray laying next to the bed and two water bottles under the bed. It appeared that no cleaning had been done in this room. The bathroom and bedroom door locks also did not work in that particular room. The theme carried on throughout the house.
Lights - light bulbs were out in a number of rooms. Most noticeable was the main light in master bedroom which left bathroom very dimly lit.
Dishwasher - Main dishwasher next to sink did not work. Had an "out of order" sign on it. Dishes had to be rinsed then carried to other end of island to be placed in dishwasher. Unacceptable for a house in this price range.
BBQ - It looked as though BBQ grill had not been cleaned since it was purchased. I have never seen a grill as dirty as this. Spent 45 minutes getting it cleaned up. Should not be the renters responsibility.
Bikes - For a house that sleeps 14 you would expect more than 6bikes. 2 adult and 4 smaller bikes? Bikes were not good quality and ended up having to rent. Spent over $500 on rentals, something that should have been included with house. Again, for the premium that was paid to stay in this house bikes should have been included.
Garbage cans - All three cans were completely full upon arrival. Beer bottles were scattered all over in the garbage cans closet No place to put our trash.
Ping pong balls/table - Rubber ping pong balls? Nothing close to being real balls. We were not able to play. Should not be the renters responsibility to go to the sporting goods store to buy balls to play. Table is extremely old and needs to be replaced.
Pavers - Back patio pavers were done very poorly and are a tripping hazard. When one steps on the edge of the stairs pavers are prone to dislodge and flip. There were a couple of close calls with some of the elderly in our party.
This is by far the nicest house in Sunriver. Plenty of space, extremely well done. We've stayed here several times.
