Modern Guest House at the Beach : )

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,000 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

Modern minimalist meets old world Mexico. Located at the beach in Todos Santos, our casita will fulfill your every need while you rejuvenate with long walks on the white sandy beach and drift peacefully off to sleep listening to the soothing ocean waves. Enjoy your breakfast on the patio. Pick fresh passion fruit from our vines. After a busy day of strolling in town or frolicking in the waves at Cerritos beach or surfing one of the secret local point breaks, visit the baby turtles being released at sunset. The sunset reflected on the mountains to the east is as spectacular as the view from the beach.

The casita has 2 private bedrooms, each with it’s own full bathroom. The main room has a fully equipped kitchen, eat in dining area and a cozy living area with TV/DVD player. There is a spacious patio for outdoor dining or reclining. If you and guests/family need more space, we have a 3BR/4BA main house on an adjacent private lot. Please see VRBO listing 304189 for more details and availability.

The dramatic Sierra de Laguna mountain range frames your panoramic view to the east of the house while you are hearing the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean a few steps west. If you can get away in the months of November through March you will become proficient in spotting the playful gray and humpback whales as they gracefully glide along the Baja coast. Perhaps you would like to hold a turtle hatchling – the beach is home to the Olive Ridley nesting grounds and the turtles are released at sunset.

Perhaps the unique song of the local bird referred to as the bird of a hundred voices will serenade you from his nest in the nearby palm trees. Pelicans, egrets and herons call the nearby freshwater lagoon their home and the lagoon is a short walk along the beach from the casita. The casual bird watching is fantastic.

You may want to meet the local fisherman when they jump the waves at the local beach in their pangas with their fresh catch of the day and bring some yellowtail or dorado home for dinner on the patio.

We are a few minutes by car or a ten minute bike ride to the town of Todos Santos, a Pueblo Magico, where you can find organic fresh produce, many excellent restaurants and several galleries displaying the work of local artisans. Although there is broadband access to the internet, and a flat screen TV – when is the last time that you had the real Milky Way on your visual screen? You may realize that you have never seen so many stars. You may not want to return home…

About The Owner

We are a San Francisco Bay Area family. We love Mexico and especially our town TODOS SANTOS. From the moment you land at the airport and feel the warm breeze, you know your vacation will be a special one. The town is charming, full of friendly people, great restaurants, shopping and art galleries. Outdoor activity awaits you or if you prefer curl up with a book or lounge on the patio.

Why The Owner chose Todos Santos

We love the beach and mountains and wanted a real get-away...we built our 2 homes from the ground up with TLC.

What makes this house unique

The location at the beach feels worlds away from downtown Todos Santos...yet you are just moments away from great food and plenty to do.

My two young puppies and I spent two and one-half weeks at the casita. It was far better than I expected, and I will never forget the experience! The casita itself is comfortable, practical, and very convenient, and the immediate setting is spectacularly wonderful and amazing beyond my power to describe! There is an immediately adjacent beach, where you and your dogs can enjoy yourselves with the company only of other dog-lovers and local passers-by from time to time, and then there is a wonderful sea-turtle sanctuary there. The sea is warm, powerful and beautiful. The beach is very wide, long and empty. The local environs are peaceful, safe and very rural. Wild but mellow horses trot by on occasion. Life moves slowly. All of the madness and stress of live in the bustling modern world seems besides the point.... I love to surf, and the local surfing is good, but nothing unforgettable. On the other hand, it is really so, so nice to surf in truly warm water. You end up surfing much longer than you would in our California waters, but there is much better surf in Baja than what you can find in Todos Santos, and no mistake. The vibe is the best -- mellow, friendly, healthy, wholesome, wonderful... My two dogs and I live in San Diego, and we are very happy here, but Todos Santos is one of the few places in the world where we would think of moving, and we might do so just yet, or at least go there each winter. Driving there, however, is a b#%$@%! But it is a beautiful drive.... The casita is a splendid place to stay in this wonderful, magical village at the very end of the Baja peninsula, which is the "land that time forgot." Bill Markham, San Diego, February 17, 2012
