DIRECT WATERFRONT PRIVATE BEACH

NOW RENTING FOR SUMMER
On the water, beautiful views of Long Island Sound. The rental is located directly on a private sandy beach with views of Duck Island, and Salt Island. Great sandbars at low tide are perfect for anyone. At low tide you can walk to Salt Island on the sandbars to explore! It is a short walk to town and Waters Edge Resort. In the area there are many great restaurants as well as summer activities. Mystic Seaport , Mystic Aquarium, Essex Steam train, and the Clinton and Westbrook outlets are all a short drive away. The historical Goodspeed Opera House , as well as the Ivoryton Playhouse are available for some terrific shows in the evenings! The rental has a backyard for children to play and a grill for parents to barbeque. There is a large outdoor shower and dressing room for your convenience with hot and cold running water. The front patio features a table and umbrella as well as a scenic view of the beach and water.
The rental sleeps 5 maximum. There is a fully equipped kitchen, living room, 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.
Bedroom one has a king sized bed. Bedroom 2 has one twin bed, and bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds.
You must provide your own linens and towels, we provide the bedspreads. If you would like us to provide the linens, there is an additional fee of $30 per bed/person.

Rentals are weekly from Saturday to Saturday from late June to the beginning of September. We will also rent for long weekends in September at a discounted price. Full weeks in June and September are also rented at a discount. Please email me for fee details. We will be happy to provide linens, sheets and towels for a fee of $26.00 per bed.

The perfect beach vacation

I picked this rental because I recognized it as soon as I saw it! I grew up 5 houses from here. The rental was immaculate, the beach beautiful….home. Owners were very nice and helpful. They say you can’t go home again but I got pretty close! Fantastic spot. I’ll be back!

Close to the ocean

This house is close to the ocean — as in at high tide water is almost to the porch — so very convenient and not a lot of walking needed. Also near to some great restaurants although not walking distance. Owner was friendly and helpful. Only downside is that neighbors are very close (but there is a good privacy fence for the porch) and there are two flights of narrow stairs to get to apartment. We had a relaxing and restorative friends weekend.

Had a great time on our vacation. The rental was clean, quiet, and quaint. It had all the amenities we needed. I loved waking up before the kids and taking my coffee out to the patio for a little early morning solitude with the seagulls. Kids loved the sandy beach, big sandbars, and swimming. We invited a couple of friends down on two different days, fired up the grill (provided w/ rental), set up a croquet set in the back yard, and enjoyed our paddle board and kayak. We ate at several really good restaurants in the area and did a little shopping at Water's Edge & the Clinton Outlets. The landlord was very nice and one night, when we accidentally locked ourselves out, she came over to let us in at 11:30 pm. At the end of the week, none of us wanted to leave. Can't wait to go back next year!

Perfect spot for some beach and RnR!

I stayed here with my 2 daughters and 1 grandparent. My daughters are 7 and 8 and this beach was perfect for them. The vacation home is very clean. It has a fully stocked kitchen - which was nice so we could come at “home”. Sandy had awesome recommendations on nearby places. The family was there on the weekend and they were so friendly and helpful. The stairs weren’t a big issue for my kids, myself , or my mom. You have your own entrance. We left our beach chairs on the porch and it made popping on and off the beach so simple. The reviews on here are accurate. It really is that nice of a stay - very clean, spacious, has everything you’d want and more for a week at the beach. We will be back for sure!!!

Wonderful...strongly recommend...but...its an attic not a “cottage”

We had a great time. Wonderful location and truly very nice people. Only issue was I didn’t read the small print. It was a 3rd floor attic apartment. Up 2 flights of rather steep stairs. I saw pic of house and the word “cottage” and never read the disclaimer that said it was part of a home. And I would accept this as my own fault. And to their due after i had said i thought the property was not quite as advertised they did offer to refund all the money. Of course you are ready for vacation so you really don’t feel you want to do that. And go hone. And the reviews are good and justified. But a refund was certainly offered. My problem was that we invited a friend that has a bad knee and those steep stairs were tough. So a real deal for young family. Fantastic. Less so if older, unsteady, and not so careful a reader. I was very glad we stayed and we had a very nice week at the beach.

Beautiful Ocean View

Beautiful ocean views in two of the three bedrooms, you can hear the waves even with the windows closed:-D. The living area also has a wonderful view of the ocean. You are on the 3rd floor and everything is clean. The back porch which is right by the water is shared by you and the family that comes on the weekends. They are very friendly. My son and I had a wonderful time.

Perfect Beach Getaway

We had the best weather for the beach, hot and sunny, with a clear clean ocean to cool off in. We love staying at a place on the beach and this cottage apartment didn't disappoint. Thankfully it had a/c! Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again, but be prepared to climb stairs!!

Affordable Beachfront Rental

My family and I had a great week! The property is right on the water and has everything included that you could need. It is a small rental on the 3rd floor of the main house, but it has more than enough space and is on the beach. Sandy is also very kind and easy to work with. Thank you for a great and much-needed vacation!

Amazing views

My family and I stayed at this property for a week this August. The property was clean and the owners couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. The views were amazing and it was so nice to be steps from the water. I was a little weary of the steps when we first arrived as they are fairly steep, but we had no issues at all and joked at all the extra exercise we were getting. I highly recommend this property, and hope to be back next year!

Charming Cottage

I loved my stay here. The owner and her family are wonderful. This attic cottage is charming and quirky just what a cottage should be. It is directly on the beach and all night you are lulled to sleep with the sound of waves. There is a table and umbrella on the deck dedicated for you when you stay here. The outdoor tiled shower is spacious with a changing room and plenty of hot water. I didn't use the indoor shower once. If you like a destination when you walk on the beach toward the left you can walk to Ocean's Edge, toward the right you can walk to the Elk's Club (must be member to use). If it is low tide you can walk to the island and there are lots of sandbars. There are lots of restaurants/bars close-by. Café Routier a more upscale restaurant is a short 1/2 mile walk, Bills Seafood a casual restaurant on the channel is a few minute drive, Rocky's Aqua on the marina in Clinton is a 15 minute drive. There are many more Al Forno, Bacari Social, Shanks a BYOB lobster spot. This property is good if you are going alone or have a family of five.

Perfect location

Amazing location right on a sandy beach and in a friendly walkable neighborhood. Just a 10- minute walk to a favorite local breakfast place. This apartment would be perfect for couples and anyone with school-age children. Stairs are a bit too steep to be comfortable for small ones. Thanks for a good time!

Beautiful Views

My family and I rented here for a week in August. The location is right on the water and very close to the Westbrook center. We also have family in the area so it was an ideal location for us to be able to visit with them who we haven't seen since Covid. My two boys loved being right on the beach and wanted to be in the sand or the water all day! We hopefully look forward to renting again in the future.

Perfect beach week for young kids

The property was spotless and comfy. It is literally 5 steps from the door to the beach. The water is gentle and the sandbars were perfect for my 3 and 5 year old. I hope to be back next summer!

Truly a great little spot right on the water. I mean...directly on the water. A quaint little rental. It was peaceful and beautiful to wake up to the sound of waves right outside our window every morning. The cottage is perfect for beach living - clean, comfortable, and vacation ready. We didn’t spend much time inside anyway! The house is surrounded by other little houses on a quiet beach. We really enjoyed walking down the beach on either end and checking out all the houses. Everyone we did come In contact with was very friendly. This was a great little getaway to relax and get away from the real world!

This is a beautiful property. Right on the water with a great view and nice ocean breeze. The beach is sandy unlike others we have stayed at where there are a lot of rocks. Was able to relax and fall asleep while listening to the ocean at night. There was plenty of beach to walk and an island to explore. I loved the private outdoor shower which made it really easy to clean up the kids and myself at the end of a great beach day. Wonderful vacation and really nice area.

Beautiful beach front location and wonderful view

This rental is on the top floor of a house with all facilities needed for a small family. The decor and furniture is typical of beach houses I have stayed in before which was clean and suitable. This is an ideal place to stay if you want to relax by the beach for a week. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and responsive to my requests for help with holiday arrangements.

The view was beautiful but....

The location was beautiful by far. However, the living quarters were more so like a small apartment than a cottage. I was told we would be on the second floor but we were more so in the attic. The owner was there and at times yelled at my guests for parking in her family’s unoccupied spot during the week. I was also told that it was furnished with a king bed, which was merely two twin beds pushed together. I think that the description of this rental might want to be redone. We felt more as an inconvenience that was paying to stay the week!
