About this space Originally from Russia (hence the name “Beriozka” meaning Birch Tree) I live in Stamford CT. About 7-8 years ago I’ve discovered Chester/ Essex area and fell in love. I’ve been coming here during summer to enjoy river rides, during winter just to see snow on the ground of old towns and needless to say during fall – when all the beauty of nature unfolds. Then came an idea to have an own place here and when an opportunity came to buy this small cottage on Cedar Lake I’ve jumped on it. The space This brand new cozy 730sf cottage with extra-large windows offers cathedral ceilings; custom built-ins; fully equipped kitchen with quartz counter top which opens to cozy living area with gas fireplace, pull out queen size couch; two bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds in each, luxurious bathroom with a full size soaking tub and spacious shower with glass wall and door; stack-able washer/dryer; two large Smart TVs, split a/c units in each room, ceiling fan in the living room/kitchen; handmade custom stained glass panels and artwork add character to this wonderful place. Large deck offers outdoor kitchen with sink and gas grill and dining area; enjoy a tranquil back yard with fire pit, four comfortable Adirondack armchairs and two lounge chairs under an umbrella. You can find probably everything you’d need including all kitchen and bathroom necessities, cooking spices, cleaning supplies, linens, towels, books, games, beach towels, four beach chairs, two swimming board and even two kids life jackets. During winter keep thermostats at 75 degree or less. The rest is very easy: when taking a shower please turn on the fan, when using a grill please turn on the fan and gas line - after you are done - turn it off. Our stay was outstanding! Brilliant appointments, beautiful surroundings, clean, safe, simply lovely. We spend a lot of time in the area and will definitely be booking again.
THIS WAS A QUICK GETAWAY FOR ME AND MY WIFE. THE PROPERTY IS GREAT. WE COOKED IN BOTH NIGHTS. EVERYTHING WAS AVAILABLE. WE BOTH LEFT FEELING WE WILL BE BACK AND NEED TO FIND A HOUSE LIKE THIS FOR OURSELVES. WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE NEEDING A WEEKEND OR WEEK AWAY.
This cottage is absolutely adorable and was perfect for my family’s short getaway to visit family in the area. Very cute and comfortable, well stocked, great amenities and location. We wish we could’ve stayed their longer and can’t wait to go back!
The cottage was exactly what we needed and wanted….so clean and fully stocked with everything we needed….thank you so very much for that…the neighborhood was beautiful and peaceful…large trees and flowers everywhere…loved the garden…location was great too….many, many thanks for everything!
We couldn’t be happier that we booked this charming home! It was incredibly clean, comfortable and well maintained. It is really well decorated and appointed with anything you will need during your stay. It’s very obvious that the owner takes pride in this property. We booked this for two nights and would have enjoyed staying longer. The pictures are 100% accurate of the property, you won’t be disappointed.
You know when you just need to escape? Well, this amazing little house was the perfect place to relax, unwind and reset. The town, the house and the fire pit area were just amazing. I can’t wait to stay there again.
The cottage was adorable and perfectly suited our needs as a friend getaway. When I got Covid in August (our original vacation date), the host was so understanding and allowed us to move the time. Chester was a great town, beautiful scenery, and yummy restaurants. Would stay here again!
Cottage was decorated perfectly, the owner thought of everything! The back yard has a nice fire pit, wood included. We were 3 cousins having a mini reunion, it worked out beautifully. Quiet neighborhood near the lake, downtown is very quant, good restaurants, places to hike nearby. We were very happy! Thank you!
This is exactly as you see in photos. It doesn’t mention the beautiful butterfly bushes, loaded with gorgeous butterflies!
Everything in this place is quality and lovely!
The beds are super comfy. It’s literally a 4 minute walk to a cute public beach.
You will love this little house. She has maximizing with no clutter down to a science!
You’re 20 minutes from Gillette castle, so worth it! The area is so quaint, couldn’t have been happier with this beautiful place.
Overall, this little house was perfect for what we needed- there were three of us there for an event in Deep River, just 10 minutes away. So we didn't get to use the lake or enjoy Chester at all. However, the little house was clean and comfortable and nicely updated. The two bedrooms were the same size/same beds, but the beds are very different! Test the mattresses before you choose a room! The kitchen was well stocked, though we did not cook, so can't speak to pans, etc. Very easy check in and out. The backyard was like a little oasis- a lovely place to spend an hour reading a book! My only comment is that there really needs to be some yardwork done- the weeds have overtaken the front and back areas. Otherwise, all good for us!
We often visit this area to see lifelong friends. From now on, if we're not staying with them, it'll be here. Has everything you could need/want. Decorated perfectly. Square footage shouldn't deter you; it's truly cozy, not cramped. Owner communication was great, too.
