A definate home away from home.

We have stayed in the yellow house at least five times now. We always enjoy our stay. Heidi is a most wonderful and welcoming host. We feel like family. After all we are paisani.

There is ample parking for your vehicle and if you have guests during your stay.Bathrooms and kitchen are very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Plenty of towels. It is a short pleasant walk to the Eureka co-op and historic downtown where there is a multitude of eating establishments, bars and shops and coffee houses.

If you want a comfortable house to stay at and a magnificent host, this is your house.

Loved this cozy house!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay, the kitchen was well-stocked, loved the stove!!. The house was clean and cozy, and we enjoyed family time around card games and charades. Rarely used the TV but when we did it worked just fine. The gas fireplace kept us warm, and the wifi worked exceptionally well! After theee nights of family time, laughter in the evenings, and daily adventures, it was hard to leave. Will most definitely be back! Thank you Heidi, for being such a wonderful host!

Cutest Little Yellow Cottage in Eureka!!

  • 5 of 5

Members of my family and i stayed here for a little over a week in late July 2015. We all loved it, pure and simple. all 3 bedrooms were quite comfortable, the master en suite was on the main level, and the 2 bathrooms were functionally updated while keeping a early era vibe. your only real consideration here is that both baths are on the ground floor and the stairs to the 2 upstairs bedrooms is relatively steep, but we put the younger folks upstairs and kept the master for ourselves. the cottage is very well stocked with stuff you need if you're going to be cooking which is a plus. and if you have animals, there is a good sized mudroom off the kitchen for them. the neighborhood is pretty quiet even tho it is very close to the police station which we considered good as we spent a fair amount of time away from the cottage. it's centrally located with off street parking for 3 cars next to the house. there is a gazebo in the backyard which was a nice spot for a glass of wine. easy walk to Old Town and easy to get around Eureka as well as getting on to 101 if you were trekking to Arcata (N), Fortuna (S), Jedediah Smith State Park (E) or the Samoa Dunes (W). there were very minor issues that were easily rectifiable; ants in the master bath which we didn't mind as ants are ALL over this area; couldn't get the DVR to work but we just switched to a jigsaw puzzle. there is a good amt of local art on the walls which is fun. the whole process of reserving, paying, getting the key was all seamless and Lynzie, the property manager, was absolutely wonderful to deal with. and loved her little puppy, Ted. he's a tail wagger!!! we all would stay here again.

Charming

  • 4 of 5

Very charming house with beautiful hardwood floors. Obvious that a lot work went into the home.

Comfortable and homey. Our dogs enjoyed it, but wish the fence completely enclosed the yard.

Map

Old Town and Eureka's best restaurants and attractions are within a mile.

Close proximity to 101 allows for easy access to the redwoods, the bay, beaches and wonders of the Humboldt Bay area.

Bicycling, fishing, antiquing, visiting the plethora of local art galleries, a Victorian walking tour and touring the Redwood are some of the popular activities our guests have enjoyed.

The home is conveniently located walking distance to the 'oldtown shopping district' and is in the 'historic Clark district' and area rich in history and full of beautifully restored Victorian homes.
