Quaint, but needs a tune up.

  • 3 of 5

Conveniently located to the ocean, redwoods, and a great co-op grocery store. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, and fairly updated. However, the rest of the space needs some TLC. The kitchen fanhood was dirty. The living room sofas were too grimy to sit on. We were afraid to turn on the fireplace, the primary source of heat, because of a build up of dirt. The tiny backyard with gazebo was unkempt and essentially unusable. We blew a fuse one morning, but the owner answered our call immediately and we were able to resolve the situation. We felt completely safe in the neighborhood, but it might be a bit too industrial for some boarders.

My family and I love this house. We have stayed here several years in a row now. It's our annual vacation spot. We are always impressed with the coziness and cleanliness of the house. The owners are amazing and do the best they can to ensure that your stay is great.

I would highly recommend this property for anyone interested in visiting this area and it's amazing natural wonders of redwoods and beaches.

Cozy! Awesome remodel with original character!

  • 5 of 5

For about the price of a decent hotel, we got a cute little house! The fireplace makes it cozy (tho we didn't use it bc we were thrilled it was in the 60's, coming from Redding in the 100's, ugh!). Bc our kids are young, we brought a queen-sized air mattress for the living room floor (bc as a few other reviewers said, the stairs are a bit steep, & both bathrooms are downstairs). Worked out great, with privacy for us in the master bedroom. The couches are comfy too. We loved all the finishing touches like paintings & quilts. There are even games in the living room. Our 2 dogs were so glad to be welcome too, & the house cleaner does a great job bc we didn't see evidence (e.g. Dog hair!) of prior dogs. Thanks Heidi!
