Summer excitement and endless natural scenes of Adirondack beauty wait for you here. Spectacular hiking trails wind through the Adirondacks including the High peaks. Jump off the ledges of the Black Hole or swim in the fresh Adirondack waters below. Hike Stewart Mountain, Dippekill Ridge Trail, endless trails, or mountain bike on Gore trails. This renovated original Adirondack hemlock plank house is one of a kind with two centuries of history. The property sits across from the beautiful Mill Stream which is one of the top fly-fishing trout streams in New York State. Hidden on a plateau above is an old post and beam hemlock barn. and meadows leading to a walking trail that opens into a larger more beautiful Adirondack tall pine-lined field. Along the edge of the field, another beaver pond and stream wind along the property's edge.

Almost two centuries ago, the house was built of hemlock when a Tannery operated in the area. Farms and sawmills were also prominent. The house still stands steady in a proven ideal and desired location within the Adirondack Park, just outside a small Johnsburg hamlet.

The house is furnished with minimal fabric to help ensure quality cleaning between stays. There is leather furniture in the living room and mostly wood or ceramic tile floors. It has the comforts of home with two queen beds, Twin bunks, a pull-out mission oak futon as needed on the landing, and supplied hotel-quality linens, television, dish, internet, Wi-Fi, and AC. All basic kitchen cooking pans/trays, tableware, and utensils are in the house for your use along with towels and linens. Outdoors there is a gas grill and fire pit. This house and property provide a great retreat to enjoy walking, hiking, and observing nature. Wildlife is abundant. Enjoy all the Adirondacks have to offer you and your family with rafting, kayaking, fishing, and other recreation when the season is just right. It is a quick drive to Lake George for a steamboat ride or a stroll through the village shops.

Fall beauty, the spectacular views nearby, a walking trail on sight, streams, nearby lakes, and hiking trails will give you many options to enjoy this open space. This is a fantastic central Adirondack location. Gore gondola and Mountain biking through the fall.

There are numerous winter attractions and Gore Mountain Ski Center (a 9-minute drive) This is a very clean & fresh house! We offer seasonal rentals. Ski Gore, enjoy the fall foliage and escape for the summer.

Fantastic central location to many attractions. The house sits across from the Mill Stream and 6 miles to Gore Mountain. This house has everything you need to relax in comfort while enjoying the Adirondack Mountains and landscapes.

Comfortable and Cozy Cottage by Gore

Arleen’s clean and cozy cottage, with comfortable bedding and a well-stocked kitchen, was perfect for family meals. Located just 15 minutes from Gore Mountain, it made for an ideal ski getaway. Amazing snowy getaway

What a treat to find this place! Just the right size for our family of five, cozy and good movie-watching and close to Gore for skiing. And a large user-friendly kitchen! Arleen was very helpful, especially helping us navigate a big snowstorm that threatened to undo our plans, but, thanks to her, enhanced the whole trip. Would love to stay here again!

Peaceful Beauty…

A beautiful and peaceful late summer getaway, we found the house to be immaculate with a very well appointed kitchen — and the owner even left us a lovely set of coloring books and markers to enjoy on a rainy day. The property itself is a wonderful treasure of trails behind the house.

Gore Mountain Ski Trip

We stayed at this beautiful Hemlock Plank house in Wevertown for our annual February ski trip- it is a beautiful house, 10 minutes from Gore Mountain. We enjoyed our stay, were able to cook our meals to reduce the cost and had plenty of room to give each other some space when needed. With three bedrooms and 2 baths it afforded the amenities needed for my family of 5. Laundry facilities on premise made it easy to clean layers needed for skiing without having to run into town. Would definitely stay here again the next time we choose Gore for our winter ski trip.

First of all, the location of this property is not to be beaten. 10 min to Gore Mountain! The place was spectacular. Clean, spacious, bright and chock full of items you might need! Very Nice House and Friendly Owner

My friends and I spent the July 4th weekend at this house. The house was nice and clean. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking. The house also has many great features not mentioned in the description, which includes a fire pit, a BBQ grill and a big backyard where we could play badminton and volleyball. The owner, Arleen was very friendly. She provided many suggestions for activities around the house. Also, Arleen was very quick and patient in answering our questions before and during our stay. We will definitely stay at this house when we visit the area again.

What a wonderful stay we had! The house was immaculate and was just as advertised. The kitchen was better equipped than my own! We walked in to a welcome card and gifts which set the tone for a terrific trip. Arleen was always available if needed and very communicative. There was a huge storm the day before we arrived which knocked out the tv and internet. She personally drove to the property to fix it because a repairman would not be able to come for several days. It’s a little further away from Lake George than I would like to have been but our stay was fantastic. Thank you Arleen!

Dreamy Gore skiing weekend

This house was a 10-15 minute drive from Gore, and it was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The kitchen had quality cookware, plates, utensils, etc., so we were able to cook our meals and dine very comfortably (adjacent dining area seats 6 people easily). The beds were also very comfortable. We've stayed in lots of rental properties over the years, and this was obviously a house whose owner/manager attends to every detail and maintains the house. Arleen, the manager, was extremely communicative, attentive and helpful. We would happily return to stay there again!

Nice winter getaway

We had a great experience with the owner. We were looking for a place near Gore Mountain for a weekend getaway. The property is a little off the beaten path but convenient for our purposes. We took advantage of the large property to explore the area. Some of the establishments in the area were closed, so that was a challenge to find places to eat when we didn’t want to cook. But the kitchen was well stocked when we did cook. Some of the outdoor amenities (like the grill) were not available because of the season. The owner checked on us daily and was reachable by text when necessary.

Wonderful Adirondack Getaway!

Myself and three friends stayed at this wonderful rental in August 2021 to enjoy a girls weekend getaway in the Adirondacks and close to Lake George. The house was spacious, clean, and well equipped with everything you could need. Arlene was very responsive to all questions and offered great recommendations for things to do in the area based on our interests! This location is about 30 minutes from Lake George attractions which was perfect for us to enjoy the quietness of the Adirondacks and hiking, but close enough to the lake and all it has to offer.
