About this property

Moonshine Hollow Dome by Rafting

Enjoy a one of a kind experience with our modern mountain retreat nestled in Wanderlust Woods––hosting a flowing creek, wildlife & plenty of space to wander. Nearby GSMNP hiking, rafting, fishing, fresh air & dark starry nights

Welcome to Moonshine Hollow––a spacious, designer-curated geodesic dome that reimagines the traditional cabin experience through a unique immersive stay, perfect for a memory-making family getaway or fun-filled trip with friends to clear your mind from everyday stresses.

If you need anything, cohost Jamey is just a phone call away (check out 3500+ 5-star reviews). We are more than happy to answer questions or offer help if you need it. Just message or call and we'll either send someone by or handle any concerns personally.

Wanderlust Woods is located in Cocke County Tennessee near the towns of Cosby and Hartford, 10 minutes from the Interstate and is situated very near the boundary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The natural beauty of the area is unparalleled with views of the Smokies at almost every turn. Hiking, fishing, tubing, white water rafting, and ziplining are all within a 10 mile radius of the property. Gatlinburg, TN is a 25 minute drive and Asheville, NC is just over an hour, offering guests options for fun day trips in the area.

You’re welcome to explore our 10 acres of property including 900 ft of creek frontage, a hiking trail to the ridge, and mountain views. We ask that you do not enter any other of our glamping spots. No one else has access to your dome.

The main level of the dome consists of calming blues with mountain boho vibes— a bedroom (king bed), living room with a sofa & chaise, comfy chairs, coffee table, smart TV and an entire wall of windows that look out onto sun-dappled creek. Additionally, you'll find a dining table that seats 6, fully-equipped kitchen and the bathroom with a double vanity, flushing toilet, and tub/shower you may never want to leave. Upstairs in the loft you’ll find a queen bed and sleeper chair for a recommended capacity of up to 6 guests.

Outside next to the creek is a round dining table with chairs, fire pit with comfy gliders, a hammock, and fire pit with firewood provided (no fire starter).

Our address is 910 Windy Hill Way, Cosby, TN 37722 but we have found GPS sometimes falls short as you get close. There are many possible routes to get to Wanderlust Woods, some of which are one-lane roads that we do not recommend.

Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we suggest that you access our property from US-321 / TN-32 (aka E. Parkway from Gatlinburg).

If coming from I-40, take exit 435 onto TN-32 S. In 5.5 miles turn right onto US-321 S and then left to stay on 321 S. Continue straight for almost 10 miles when you will turn left on Trail Hollow Road (there is a sign for Chestnut Baptist Church on this corner).

Follow Trail Hollow Road for about 1 mile and turn left onto Phillips Road. (Be mindful that Trail Hollow Road makes a sharp, 90 degree left turn, about half way to Phillips Road.) Once you turn onto Phillips Road you will pass a house on your right. Take the first right onto Windy Hill Way. This is our road. You will pass two neighbors' driveways on the left and go all the way to the end where you will see our large wooden sign and Wanderlust Woods is just over the bridge.

You will also want to take a look at the Guide with your check-in instructions for how to access your glamping spot (after filling out the pre-arrival form)

We don’t have great cell reception at the property, so make sure you screenshot the directions and check in instructions ahead of time or log into our Wi-Fi when you get to the bridge. You can set up Wi-Fi calling on your phones in order to stay in touch with family and friends while you’re glamping.

We will offer directions that avoid the worst roads but you will encounter gravel and a few ruts coming into the property. Any vehicle can make it fine when taking it slow but a larger vehicle with higher clearance is preferred. Only in winter when there is snow and ice is 4wd required.

We provide coffee, creamer, sugar, snacks, plus all the bedding, towels, soap, TP, etc that you’ll need for your stay.

The Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is 3 mi in one direction, rafting on the Pigeon River is 3 mi in another direction, and we can show you some beautiful fishing spots for bass & trout less than 3 miles from our place.

The following does NOT apply to reservations made on Airbnb (who has their own vetting & resolution process). For all other booking platforms, guests are required to complete our pre-arrival process including a photo of a valid ID, signing our rental conditions, and submitting a valid credit or debit card to be pre-approved for a security deposit (card will not be charged just authorized in case of damage or rule violation). This process needs to be completed before check-in.

Excellent experience!

This is the second time we stayed at the domes in Cosby and it was another great experience. From all of the small touches like snacks and water in the fridge to the attention to design and aesthetic, they have done a great job. We will most certainly be back at some point in the future!

Excellent!

We loved our overnight at Moonshine Hollow. The accommodations were wonderful with everything that we needed. It was a treat to spend time beside the creek and up on the ridge on the morning that we departed. Would absolutely stay there again.

Great stay at Moonshine Hollow

Me and my family had such a fun time at Moonshine Hollow. The dome was very clean , modern, and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We were right next to the creek, very peaceful. Our host Jamey was great at communication and made sure we were happy throughout our stay.

October

We stayed in one of the domes this October and had loved it! All the modern comforts of home but with the mountains and a creek right outside your door. Highly recommend!

Awesome Experience

Unbelievable location, great accommodations, the creek running right beside the property provided relaxation and activities for my children. First class location, glamping at its best. Definitely will be back and have already referred several other families.

Great Glamping

Very cozy place!! Loved it. Everything was really clean and everything worked as it was supposed to. Very clear instructions. Would have love more if other sites were farther apart. When I picked it I thought it was a stand alone glamping but regardless it was a great experience.

The Perfect Getaway

My husband and I were in dire need of a quiet getaway and the Moonshine Hollow Dome was everything we could ask for. Situated next to a creek, it offered the peaceful environment we craved. The dome itself is comfortable and well-appointed. I was immediately impressed with how clean it was. I mean spotless. The kitchen was very nice, with up-to-date appliances, and the living area was inviting.. The bed was super comfortable and we slept like the dead. The patio area next to the creek featured comfortable seating and a hammock, where I spent my afternoons, rocking and enjoying the sounds of the creek flowing by. There are a lot of places nearby to eat, raft, zip line along with hiking and mountain biking. We didn't do any of these on this trip but will in the future. I highly recommend Wanderlust Woods for a lovely get-away. We will definitely be returning. And we really appreciated the photo of Popcorn Sutton.

If I had to think of a negative. The bathroom door flies open when someone walks up the stairs of walks next to it...maybe not square of just doesn't latch even when locked. Also, it would be nice to have the light in the bathroom and the fan on different switches because the fan is really loud and it made you not want to use the light at night to not disturb others. Also, the gravel road down was hard to travel...cars spun leaving trying to climb. No gas for the grill. WIFI was spotty sometimes could not connect or use TV. Overall, a great place though. None of these things made our stay less enjoyable. We definitely appreciated the facilities and the scenery.
