Kings Mountain Magic

Mid Century cottage delivered classy, convenient and simple energy. Sweet house next to a visiting Peahen and tribe of goats. Enjoyed being near the creatures each day. Area is wonderful for morning outings, midday naps and return trail blazing in late afternoon. Brian was excellent in his suggestions of places to see. Veronet vineyards visit was amazing and pet friendly! We felt very safe and encountered no problems even though a small section of S Cherokee St has a different socioeconomic base. Thanks Brian for sharing your Kings Mountain rental with us. Mary

In town for a wedding

This was the perfect place to stay for us. We were in town for my son's wedding. Very clean plus easy checking in. There were goats in the field next to us & an emu. Very quiet, serene place. There was a train that went by occasionally but i only ever heard it when i was outside. Very much enjoyed our stay!

Kings Mountain

House was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Easy to find and close to everything. The house is very nicely decorated and very comfortable for just relaxing in the evenings. Brian was very quick to respond if we had any questions. Check in and check out could not have been any easier. We will rent again when we return to the area.

DO NOT STAY HERE if you are sensitive to mold or have CIRS. This house smells like a wet moldy basement. Not sure how it has such good reviews. I contacted the owner Brian within five minutes of being in the house telling him I could not stay there due to the smell. He tried to gaslight me and tell me it didn’t smell, and his housekeeper was there right before me and she didn’t smell anything, so it must’ve been wild animal walking by. This is incorrect because it didn’t smell outside. It only smells when you walk inside the house. This house is lipstick on a pig. I’m a mold inspector by profession and walked around took pictures to document it. This house is equivalent to quick flip houses I inspect; they look nice initially, but when you start looking around, you can find significant water damage that has been covered up. I told him the ductwork is disgusting, and he said ductwork is not part of normal cleaning. The AC unit is in the water damaged basement. This is what is most likely causing the smell because it is bringing contaminated air into the house through the ductwork. There are water stains on the kitchen ceiling, and he told me those are not water stains. He said I could cancel through VRBO. I contacted VRBO and they said they can’t cancel it; he must cancel the reservation due to his software he uses. He kept saying I need to cancel through VRBO. I’m out 1000 because he’s refusing to refund my money and we never stayed at this house. Found 2 dead cockroaches.

We came into town for 2 days over the holiday. The house was a comfortable place to stay, and we had a nice time. The emu next door watched us closely, but he was a considerate neighbor nonetheless. Communication was fast and easy. If we make the trek again, we’ll definitely look to rent a second time.
