The location is centrally located with nearby towns and activities. There are plenty of hiking trails (with views and waterfalls) no matter what direction you travel. The cabin is beautiful and well equipped with supplies. We lost power due to a bad storm. But between the gas fireplace and the gas grill, we kept warm and were able to make food. The snow flurries were even perfect. The cabin is"beary" nicely decorated. The beds are comfortable after a day of hiking. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this cabin and would definitely rent again. We had everything we needed. The fire pit was awesome. We left a day earlier cos of the incoming storm. Easy access to property and entrance.
We had a great time. Really enjoyed the cabin and location was great!

What a perfect cabin, Secluded and peaceful. Interior was so well done, Love all the bears in the house. The fireplace was perfect to relax and watch some TV to wind down. Cabin was spotless upon arrival, check out instructions were simple and easy.
Our stay was too short. It was so peaceful and comfortable here, that we wished we could have stayed longer. The house has everything you need and we loved the decor. Super clean too!
This is a great home! Perfect size for us and very clean. The provided Dove soap, shampoo and conditioner was a great added touch. Easily accessible road and driveway. Overall a great stay!

Great Cabin
It’s a beautiful cabin and there’s absolutely everything you need! So clean! Great location and very quiet
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and beatifully located in a great location. 2nd bathroom is bath not shower. Large dog next door seems friendly but runs loose coming over and barked constantly the first night keeping my son up all night. Beds are ultra firm.
Was lovely sitting on the porch watching the leaves fall. Beautiful home and property. Highly recommend. May need 4 wheel drive in winter, weather depending.
Very remote clean and and private. We were ckose to downtown Hiawasse and downtown Helen. I was disappointed the grill was not working and there were no clear instructions on using the gas fireplace. The power wentvout on our last night but it was quickly restore. We really enjoyed thecrainy weekend.

Not a pleased guest
The cabin was nice but the location was a little too far away from everything and the air conditioning wouldn’t work. We probably won’t be staying there again.

Hi Jennifer, thank you for your feedback! I'm glad to hear you found the cabin nice, but I'm sorry to learn about the issues with the air conditioning and the location. I want to assure you that our local operations manager has addressed the air conditioning issue to ensure it is resolved for future guests. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back soon for a better experience!
It was better than average but still had a few things that could have been better! The claim that yard dogs are welcome is not what was claimed when renting. The dogs could be indoors and limited to 2 with maximum weight of 25 lbs. each. We had 1 dog at 15 lbs and we would never let her stay outside, particularly at this location.

Cute and clean
The cabin was cute and clean but lacked a working tv in the bedrooms. The view was pretty but the yard was a little rougher terrain than described and muddy. The clay was everywhere. We brought our dogs with us- BUT due to the many unleashed roaming neighborhood dogs, we could not walk them safely in the neighborhood, which was very disappointing. We had to drive into Hiawassee to take them to the parks in order for them to get any exercise. There was pet friendly dining in town and down in Helen.
The location for hiking the Appalachian trail was perfect. The house had a large living area, and the kitchen had everything you need. Unfortunately, we were unable to add apps to the TV as a code was required and the host was unable to give us the code or add the app, even though we would use our credentials. Also, the code to enter the house is 10 digits long and it took several times to get it to work and it had to be changed twice. The host was very responsive to the issue, so we didn't have to stay outside for more than 15 minutes.

Nancy, thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're so pleased that the location of our home was perfect for you and that you found it spacious and well-appointed. The TV is streaming so guests can use their own accounts to log into platforms, such as Netflix. We are sorry for any issues you encountered. Additionally, we regret any difficulty you had with the code to enter the home and are glad our team could assist. We enjoyed having you as our guest and hope to host you again.

A beautiful and comfortable Cabin in the Mountains
We were fortunate to stay at Bear Necessities as autumn arrived and the colors began to show their beauty. This is truly a wonderful cabin, with great attention being paid to the details of comfort, functionality and beauty. The sofa's, chairs and beds were all particularly comfortable, and the back porch was a quiet and peaceful place to share a glass of wine in the evenings. We were impressed with the quality of kitchen utensils (knives and silverware) along with really nice cookware (which is not always the case in a rental). The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with different appliances and supplies. We enjoyed being so close to Helen and Unicoi State park on one side, and the conveniences of Hiawasee, as well as Chatuge Lake on the other. And we were only a short drive away from several waterfalls and the lovely town of Dahlonega for other things to do. All in all an exceptional rental that we will plan to use again when we return to the area. Thank you to the owners for creating a remarkable place for us to stay!
