  • Fall Getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains

"My wife and I were looking for a relaxing place to enjoy the fall foliage and Cricket Creek cabin was the perfect place for it. The cabin is immaculate and beautifully decorated. It has comfortable beds and every convenience you need for a romantic getaway. The fireplace is easy to use and makes the cabin cozy at night. We enjoyed quiet walks on the path that runs through the property. There many beautiful drives and hikes a short distance from the cabin. I recommend Cricket Creek cabin for a romantic getaway."

  • Enjoyable Family Time!!

"Our family had a great weekend escape here!! Played a lot of board games and foosball, and enjoyed a hike and picnic at Vogel State Park. Brian is a great host and very responsive should you have any questions or need anything. There is a binder in the home full of information about every outdoor activity you could possibly think of in the area - very helpful for us to plan our day at the park."

  • Cozy Spot for a Couple

"The Redbird Retreat is a cute and comfy cottage perfect for a couple or possibly a couple with a child. We stayed here for a week at Christmas 2016. We were pleasantly surprised to find the cottage decorated for Christmas, with a lovely tree by the French doors in the living area and Christmas themed towels in the kitchen plus other cheerful touches. The cottage is wonderfully equipped, from the kitchen to the bath. The cookware is good quality and there are lots of dishtowels and bath and hand towels. The bathroom has a laundry closet with new or nearly new washer and dryer and laundry products as well. There is a basket with all sorts of toiletries in case you forgot your toothbrush or need a tampon or body lotion. The shower is roomy and immaculate, with a hand-held spray that makes hair washing a breeze. The kitchen is very compact but the living area itself is large. The fireplace is functional and adds a warm note both literally and figuratively. (We enjoyed opening our gifts by the fire on Christmas day.) The living/dining area has two sets of French doors leading to a roomy deck, and double windows in both the living and dining areas make the space bright. The cottage looks over a wooded area that makes you feel like you are in the woods even though it is in a residential neighborhood (the houses are very far apart, so it feels isolated). The bedrooms are small but functional, with plenty of extra blankets, but closet space is very limited. We found the second bedroom a great place to stash our suitcases and coats! Both the living room and master bedroom have nice flat-screen TVs mounted on the wall. We had occasion to use both the heat and the A/C and both worked perfectly. WiFi is fast at 30 Mbps and HD video streaming is flawless. The cottage stands in a small clearing with trees on all sides, and at night, you can stand on the deck and look up at the stars, which are vivid and bright because there is no ambient light to compete with them. If you live in or near a large city or metropolitan area, you will be amazed at how many stars you can see. We recommend Redbird Retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable base from which to explore the mountains and waterfalls of Northern Georgia. We are avid hikers and found many great places to walk and explore (this is mountain country, so expect your hikes to be vertical and strenuous!). An excellent value and a great experience!"
