Relax with beautiful views in a renovated home just a stone’s throw from the East Verde River!

Nestled in old growth trees, this serene, well-stocked 3 br/2 bath private home offers natural beauty outside and modern comforts within. Spend your days hiking, jumping in swimming holes, or admiring the views from the large covered deck. Relax with a fireplace, games, puzzles, and a 110” dropdown projector screen - perfect for cuddling and watching movies.

Great for entertaining, the kitchen is well appointed and the gas grill on the spacious covered patio is ready for your use. In winter months, the indoor fireplace provides warmth and cozy vibes. The king and queen bedrooms feature Tuft & Needle mattresses and blackout curtains for a good night’s rest. The bunk room, at the bottom of the spiral staircase on the lower level of the house, has cozy memory foam mattresses along with toys and children’s books. The property offers multiple outdoor spaces for dining and relaxing.

The River House is located 6 miles north of Payson in a beautiful canyon with gorgeous views for walking and exploration. Our favorite riverside trail starts only 50 yards from the front door! You can enjoy a relaxing weekend here without ever leaving the neighborhood.

The house is conveniently located near the Tonto Natural Bridge, the towns of Strawberry and Pine, Water Wheel Trail, and the Mogollon Rim. The legendary rock climber’s favorite, The Library, is just a mile away.

Other things to note: If you would like to include more than 8 guests in your party, please message us so we can update your reservation. We will include a fee to cover additional cleaning, towels, and linens. Unauthorized guests will result in additional fees.

The house is equipped with high speed STARLINK internet. There is NO cell service at the house. You can use the “WiFi calling” setting on your phone or other apps for making calls.

This property is not ADA accessible. Because of the spiral staircase down to the bunk room, this home may not be suitable for very young children.

During monsoon season (June - September) and winter months (November-March) abundant rains or snowfall may result in rising water levels of the East Verde River which can make the road into and out of the neighborhood unpassable. Please check the hydrograph and weather reports for East Verde River near Childs at water(dot)weather(dot)gov. If the site indicates water levels of 14.5 feet or above, that typically signals flooding.
