Christine, I'm sorry to hear that you did not receive a call back from Vacasa. I also wish you had reached out to Padre Island Rentals directly, as we manage the condo you stayed in—we would have followed up with you immediately. I understand how frustrating unexpected maintenance issues can be. During your stay, there was a temporary issue with one of the elevators and a brief water outage. While these were unforeseen circumstances, they were addressed as quickly as possible to minimize disruption. Additionally, we regret that the construction above your unit affected your experience. We truly appreciate you choosing to stay the month of January and hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future under better circumstances. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly should you have any concerns during a future stay—we want to ensure your experience is a positive one.

Randy, thank you for choosing my condo for your stay. I am so sorry to see the 1 star review, however, we understand your frustration. We all had to deal with a once in a life time issue here on South Padre Island that affected us in a way that could never have been predicted. We tried to relay messages to our guests as soon as we found out the outages were going to last longer that a few hours. We sent messages as we received them out to our guests. First it was to inform about the wide area outage, then about the expected rolling outages. As you are aware, we did not experience the rolling outages as expected. I am sorry if you felt you were not given the contact info you wanted, our managers info and business cards are in our office front desk for all guests to see, it is not a sensitive information that we would keep from any guests. If you asked for a person cell phone we may have declined, our staffed was working to help guest and given the authority to do what they felt was right to asset any and all of our guests. Our staff was in the office 24 hours a day with phone service and the manager was in the office for extended working hours as well. Due to the issues, we did have a long queue of guests wanting follow ups as well, this did cause some delays for personal follow ups. Due to the issues we even updated our policies to all our guests, please contact our office to discuss in more details how we want to work with you and all our guests that were affected. I would love to follow up with you, please contact us to discuss the options to offer you a credit. I see on the notes on your reservation you were offered a refund, however you declined. We have documented the messages and offer on the date you requested to check out early and we agreed to offer a refund, 2/17/21 and 12:33 PM. As we strive to do better to support our guests, please let us know how we can make this right for you. Again, thank you for choosing our condo, we understand your frustration with the ice storm and power outages. South Padre Island is back to fully operational and are excited to host our upcoming guests. We are confident we are back to offering 5 start accommodations and services.
