Second generation members of the Club. Always loved the combination of lush rainforest, exotic animals, and beaches.
Why Yvette chose Tarcoles
Beautiful unobstructed views, pristine beach, interesting wildlife, and only 1-1/2 hours from downtown San Jose.

Apartment clean with a great view
The apartment is very spacious, clean and well maintained as well as the common pool area. I would just change the pillows which I felt too soft. The beach is very nice but small, and some days too crowded.
Beautiful Beach Condo
My family of 4 had a wonderful 3 night stay in March of 2019! The condo is spacious and had more than enough room for us. The kids loved the pool and we all had a wonderful time exploring the gorgeous Playa Blanca. 3 days of rest and relaxation were exactly what we needed after 7 full days of exploring Monteverde and Arenal and we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque property for our down time.
Great condo, amazing views and beach!
This condo is in a great location, the nearby beach is beautiful, and the views are amazing. We saw turtles swimming just off shore and a scarlet macaw in the trees by the beach. It was clean and very safe. The owner was easy to work with and quick to respond. Great information and suggestions for shopping/eating in the area were provided. Highly recommend visiting this magical place!
Wonderful stay and breathtaking views
We spent a wonderful week at the condo, 1st week of March, with our 10 and 12 years old kids. Beautiful weather, beautiful views, wonderful kind people. You can even hear (and see) the waves crashing on the rocks below and the birds chirping while having breakfast on the terrace! Definitely a happy place to spend a well deserved vacation!
The beach is close and as beautiful and clean as described (although down/back up a steep hill, in case you’re less mobile).
The condo was clean and pretty well stocked, but we always bring some staples like Kleenex, paper towels and Ziploc bags which came in handy. Yvette was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had and made sure things ran as smoothly as possible.
You really want to swing by the Walmart next to the airport, if you have space in the car on your way over (as recommended by Yvette). There are little markets in the area of the condo, but these were generally more the size of convenience stores in North America, with less choices. There is also a 9-10 km speed bumped road from the condo to the gate of the complex, so you might not want to go back and forth too often (most services in the complex are reserved to Punta Leona Hotel guests so you need to go out the gate for anything you need). There are also fruit selling vendors on the side of the road to the condo (20-30 minutes out from the condo). Best mangos and papayas we ever ate!
We warmly recommend this wonderful place to stay and would stay there again anytime!
Yvette is fantastic and as pictured!
Yvette could not be more available or responsive! This is an owner that goes above and beyond!! The condo is exactly as pictured! We loved seeing the scarlet mccaws flying by and at the beach. We would definitely recommend going to Chanchitos restaurant out front, one of our faves and super close. It was great to have the security guy jump to help us with luggage and groceries to our condo, great hospitality! We would not recommend booking anything at the Hotel Arenas, they are clearly incentivized by Mendez tours / Adventure Park in our opinion and they steered us wrong unfortunately...I always have great luck with viator website and will stick with that. The Punta Leona property is very safe, as soon as you exit be aware. We parked our car 8 feet in front of main security gate (they insisted its safe / cameras and everyone does it for excursions), returned from Tortuga Island and our car was keyed on 2 doors...very expensive rental bill for us. I only share so you can avoid, it may be safe but if something happens they accept no responsibility for it. We saw a ton of animals in the parking lot entrance of Manuel Antontio (only 5 colones) and you will see monkeys and toucan, just a little tip. Yvette tried to help us in the car situation even though it wasn't her responsibility at all...we appreciate it. The Auto Mercado recommended 10 minutes away is the cleanest and nicest place to get food, there is also an ATM next door.
What a view!
We had an amazing week long stay :) The condo comfortably fit our group of 3 children and 3 adults. We had everything that we needed and more. Most of our time at the condo was spent on the deck or in the pool. Each morning we were greeted by the scarlet macaws that would fly over the condo. Playa Blanca was our favorite beach that we visited in Costa Rica - beautiful sand, nice shady area among the trees, and fun waves for the kids. We would highly recommend the condo and would definitely go again :)
Carara National Park is a short 15 min drive north of the resort entrance. A 10 min drive north of the resort entrance, direction Bijagual, are waterfalls and botanical gardens. And 15 min to the south is Jacó Beach a great place for shopping and restaurants. Tours such as zipline and ATV can be booked in Jacó as well. At only 10 min drive south is Herradura with its marina and deep sea fishing tours, a golf club, as well as shopping and restaurant options. One of the most visited areas in the region is Manuel Antonio National Park which is a 2 hour drive.
