This property is conveniently located with access to multiple forms of public transportation.
Dash Bus: DASH is a local bus service that is free to riders. It travels all over Alexandria, but will not take you into DC. You can hop on the Dash Bus just a few feet from the front door in both directions.
WMAT Bus: If you were to take a WMAT bus which travels around Northern VA and DC, you would have to either use your phone, acquire a smartrip card, or have exact change on the bus itself.
Metro: We are located a little less than a mile from the King Street Metro Station and a little over 1 mile to the Braddock Street Station. There is a bus stop nearby for the free Alexandria city bus (Dash) that runs directly to the Metro stop. {Trains: Blue and Yellow Lines}. It would take you less than 5 mins by car and probably 15-20 mins to walk it if the weather was nice.
Amtrak: Amtrak provides interstate travel and also has a stop at King Street. If headed north, the next stop after King Street is Union Station in Washington DC. Please check their website for schedules and available stops.
King Street Trolley: You’re about 1 block to King street to pick up the Trolley. The King Street Trolley runs every 15 minutes between Alexandria City Hall/Market Square and the King St – Old Town Metrorail station from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays.
**There are also ample Uber and Lyft rides in the area.
PARKING: There is paid street parking available all over OldTown, download the Parkmobile app if you plan to park around town...although you can walk everywhere from here. There is a paid parking garage over on Cameron street (2 blocks) in between Pitt and Royal as well an open air lot west on Cameron about 4 blocks should you need additional parking. You can park directly out in front of the home for 2 hours. Quite honestly I've never seen anyone ticketed after 2 hours, regardless of the time spent, but please keep in mind you're parking there at your own risk should you exceed 2 hours.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellation policies vary by booking platform. For direct bookings and VRBO, credit card processing fees are non-refundable in cases where a full refund applies. Refer to the booking platform for full cancellation terms.

The house was clean and so cute! The beds were clean. Everything you need was provided even shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The best part was the shower. The pressure of the water was like a massage!!
Had a fantastic stay at The Cavalier. Spotlessly clean, had a very cozy, warm feel. Beds and linens were comfortable. Location was great, as all the fun Alexandria hotpot’s were within walking distance.
Overall this was a very comfortable place to stay. No matter where we went (Alexandria, Arlington, or DC), we were never more than 10-15min away. The location was great.
Great place to stay in Old Town! Location is blocks away from anything you want to do, shopping, restaurants, live music and the riverfront. House is very well maintained and clean, all the amenities you would need including a nice outdoor patio. Hosts are very nice and responsiveness for everything, I would highly recommend to any families or couples looking for a nice stay in the area
My girlfriends and I stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay. Location was great and check in was a breeze. The owners were easy to communicate and returned messages quickly. The house was beautifully decorated and very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
My first time booking through VRBO and what a great experience! Hosts were easy to work and communicate with. Very thorough on ensuring a smooth check in and check out.Now for the property itself: 10 Stars! It was everything I hoped it would be. The other couple we traveled with were so impressed as well. The location was perfect! This property enhanced our stay and enabled us to feel what it would be like to live in this historic and charming community!

We had a lovely 5-day visit, and the location was perfect. Quick responses from the owners, wonderful areas to relax in the house, comfortable beds and bedding, modern kitchen and bathroom—it couldn’t have been better! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again when we’re back in the area.
This home was perfect for our visit to the area. Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to great restaurants. Easy access to train to DC. Definitely hope hope to stay here again in the future.
Booked for an overnight with my twins and a couple friends for a sweet 16 dinner in Old Town. Such a convenient location, less than 10 min walk to water front, shops and lots of shopping.

Stayed here for a yearly trip with my mom and sister. The location can’t be beat - it’s a 10-minute walk from tons of fun things to see and do. The place was really comfy, chic and had character. The outdoor space was lovely at night. I’d definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking to stay in Old City.
