Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

If you’ve ever fantasized about finding your own beach hideaway, our condo at Hibiscus 103-B is just what you’ve been looking for! Hibiscus 103-B is a ground-floor condo, yet the balcony is raised just enough to give you a perfect view of the dunes, the boardwalk to the beach, and the sea.

Nicely covered to provide protection from direct overhead sun, it gets plenty of light and air, offering a great spot for early-morning coffee, mid-afternoon chats, and evening drinks. The free WiFi at Hibiscus 103-B works out here too, so bring your phone out and update your social media in the most beautiful “office” in the world!

You are always just a step away from the outdoors at Hibiscus 103-B, thanks to big sliding-glass doors in the open-plan living and dining area, as well as a second set in the master bedroom. The interior of our condo is delightfully cool after the heat of the St. Augustine sun, and the pastel blue walls make it seem even more pleasant. Sink down onto the loveseat and watch a game or your favorite movie on our big flat-screen TV, or stretch out on the couch for a quick power nap. You’ll immediately feel at home at Hibiscus 103-B.

The sofa unfolds into a bed for 2 in our living room, giving a couple of lucky folks a front-row seat for the sunrise over the Atlantic. (It also makes a fun place for a “sleepover” if you have young kids who want to stay up all night watching Disney as a special treat!)

Just beyond the living area is our dining room table, which seats 6 comfortably beneath a modern light fixture. This, in turn, is convenient to the kitchen, with stools for the breakfast bar and a long countertop for buffet-style meals. Our L-shaped kitchen is very handy to use, well-stocked with all the cookware, dishes, utensils, and useful gadgets you need to prepare and serve just about anything. The smooth cream-colored décor and spotless condition of everything in the kitchen makes it simply a pleasure!

The other showplace of Hibiscus 103-B is the master suite. You’ll look forward to returning here each night after another busy, fun-filled day at the beach, on the links, or in the Old City. The king-sized bed is luxurious, the recliner ultra-comfy, the private TV a nice convenience, and the sliding glass doors out to the balcony a real treat! The en-suite bath is fabulous as well – a place where you can soak in the tub, reading magazines or listening to music, until every bit of stress has left your muscles!

The second bedroom at our condo is perfect for kids, another couple traveling with you, or grandparents. Two twin beds both have excellent views of the TV, and this room shares the second full bathroom with the living and dining area.

Linens are provided for you here, from the towel sets you need for both bathrooms to sheets, blankets, and pillows for every bed (even the sofa sleeper!). And just to simplify your packing, we have a washer and dryer right at Hibiscus 103-B too, so you don’t have to worry about keeping those swimsuits and vacation clothes clean. We’ve tried to think of everything to make your stay easy and fun!

Of course, at the Hibiscus resort, there’s always something to do. The big oceanfront swimming pool has a shallow-step entrance with safety rail, so it’s accessible for nearly everyone. There’s plenty of lounging and dining space around the pool too, so you can bring a picnic and make a day of it. Hibiscus also offers a fitness center, and a private boardwalk to lead you over the dunes and down to the sugary white sands of St. Augustine Beach. You’re going to love it here – book your vacation today!

Our second stay in this unit

  • 4 of 5

This is an unfancy, pleasant place to stay. I like the fact that it has a washer/dryer in the unit and the kitchen has every utensil I needed. It is close to the beach and we enjoyed the pools.

Bring an extra roll of paper towels and tp.

Nice unit; subpar management.

  • 2 of 5

We enjoyed the unit itself but probably will not rent from this management company (Vacation Rental Pros) again. When we arrived at the unit around 4:00 on our checkin day, we noticed that the door to the unit next door was open and we could see that there was extensive renovation work going on (basically the unit had been gutted). The renovation work produced extremely loud noise (banging and heaving machinery running that was sometimes loud enough to shake the building) during working hours. For some renters this may not have been a big deal (e.g., maybe some people spend all day at the beach/pool and wouldn't be in the condo), but we have a one-year-old son who needs to nap for a couple of hours in the afternoon so this was a big problem for us. We stayed for three nights right at the end of the year, and on New Year's Day we thought we thought when we didn't see or hear the work crew by noon that they must be taking the day off. No such luck. They showed up at 2:00 pm and made the most noise of any time we were there. Now, I realize that Vacation Rental Pros is not responsible for the work schedule or practices of a crew working on a unit they don't manage. However, I should have been informed of work causing this degree of disturbance when I initiated booking. If I had been informed, I would have chosen to book a different unit. To be fair, if I had called Vacation Rental Pros and informed them of the situation maybe they would have offered to move us to another unit. However, we arrived on my husband's birthday and had dinner plans to celebrate with family and friends. We needed to unload the car (with toddler and dog), shop for and put away groceries before heading out for dinner. The agreement didn't allow check-in before 4:00, so we had planned carefully to have time for all of this. We did not have time to move to another unit, and we didn't want to re-pack everything and move later either. The appropriate course of action would have been for Vacation Rental Pros to inform us of the situation beforehand so we could have resolved it without interrupting our plans. I suppose it's also possible that they didn't know that there was extremely loud work going on right next door to this unit; if that is the case it only reinforces my wariness about renting from them again because I can't trust that they know or will tell me about these kinds of situations.

The unit itself is very nice with a great layout and easy beach access.

St. Augustine Adventure

  • 4 of 5

We were told on our drive from Georgia that our original reservation was unavailable due to maintenance issues. However, Vacation Rental Pros found us an upgrade for the same price - not upstairs where we could see the ocean over the dunes, but larger and very nice.

Our Month on Butler Beach

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a month at Hibiscus condos. Our condo location was great. We had a ground floor unit, but that framed the ocean by palms and shrubs. Our unit was clean and well supplied with cooking and eating utensils. We arrived after hours and were able to get keys from the lock box. The only issues we had were a broken shade and loose commode in the guest bathroom. A maintenance employee arrived promptly at our call, tightened the commode and ordered a new blind. Hibiscus is ideally situated to the beach, to St. Augustine and to Publix and a fresh seafood store. We enjoyed our stay very much.
