Great location, close to the beach
This is a small cottage at the end of a dead end street so there is privacy. It is adjacent to a park and about a half mile from Green Hill Beach. It comes with a pass for parking at the beach. It is attached to a larger house which is used by the owner. The owner's daughter was there for a few days but we could not hear her from our house. They allowed us to use their kayaks and the daughter was kind enough to drive me to the private launching area to show me where it was located about a mile from the house.
The house is very small. It has a funky kitchen setup with the sink in one room, dish cabinets in another, and the refrigerator in the hallway. There is no privacy in the bedrooms as the dividing wall does not reach the ceiling. The air conditioning consists of one small window unit in the living room. There are ceiling fans, which did make a big difference in the air circulation. It was not hot when we were there but we do wonder if the house would be too hot on really hot days. The evenings were quite cool given that we were so close to the ocean. We were required to provide our own linens and towels. Overall, we had a lovely week.
I just want to correct a few statements about the a frame cottage on a half acre lot, not bordering on a park, but a wildlife refuge., plenty of space and privacy.. It is attached to a larger house which is not used by the owner when rented. The so called funky setup is there is an 8by 10 laundry room with a stacked washer/ dryer with a sink and cabinets for food and pots and pans etc, which is off the dining area. An antique "Indianna cabinet for dishes and a round oak table for dining are part of the large open combination living dining area, 20' by 12'. With an alcove 10 by 10 with a futon for a guest. The two bedrooms do have open ceilings and there is a bath and shower inside. Also a n outdoor shower off the back deck. There is a gated front deck ( great for toddlers) with a picnic table and Adirondack chairs.. As for the air conditioner and fans, they are more than adequate to cool the house to a comfort level. As these tenants did not have hot weather, they are not in a position to comment about that.
We always have the cottage completely clean and take pride in that, and most people leave it pretty much the same. Not in this case., bedspreads rolled up on closet floors, messy and worse of all was the smell, it reeked, fish?? Aired it out and did serious cleaning
