Playa Grande is one of Costa Rica’s best surfing destinations, offering year-round surf conditions for both beginners and advanced surfers. The beach is also famous for its breathtaking sunsets, peaceful atmosphere, and family-friendly environment. Unlike many crowded tourist towns, Playa Grande has a laid-back charm, with great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, supermarkets, and local attractions all close by.

Overall, the property was great. It was much larger than it seemed online. The rooms were all very spacious, escpecially the master. The house is perfectly located- next to several great restaurants, a 2 minute walk to the beach, and close to Tamarindo, numerous gerat beaches, and close enough to the airport. The Manager was fantastic and provided ideas, introductions, and made sure that everything was going great.

Amazing Villa - Stay Here!

Stayed at this villa with 6 friends and had the best time ever. The house is stunning with more then a enough room for everyone. The house was in great condition with everything you could possibly need for your stay (beach chairs umbrellas and bikes). The location was perfect right next to the beach and a ton of restaurants near by. The hosts made everything easy and simply upon arrival and departure. The house also comes with a concierge that was kind and helped us plan a ton of great activities during our stay. We will totally be renting here again!

The house is new and very comfortable. One floor and the best location in playa grande.

The house is built so good to accommodate large family or larger group. There are two Casita that give you more privacy. The location of the house is great. It's two minutes walk to the beach. And there are restaurants and mini market in walking distance. The pool and the outdoor dining is just great. The team that handles this house are great. Fransisco respond very fast and Julie help us with additional excursions. The back yard with the pool is to die for. They even have beach chairs and umbrellas for the beach And couple bicycles to go around. Five stars and we are definitely coming back.

June 29-July 9 The house was beautiful and roomy for our family of 14. The pool was a big hit for everyone.The neighborhood restaurants and short walk to the beach were wonderful. Our last night was upsetting because a laptop, watch and headlamp were discovered missing from a backpack that evening. Be vigilante and Lock your rooms at all times!! Housekeepers, gardeners and pool man had access several times. We did not know their schedule. We were trusting and lazy after 9 days. Also we had a unconcerned/nonresponse from the host and we had to leave in the morning. There is one security camera which should have showed something. Activities nearby that we enjoyed were zip lining in the Monkey Jungle, surf lessons, deep sea fishing, shopping in Tamarindo and visiting nearby beaches. It was a great vacation.

over all a good experience.

Very poor directions to the house and hard to find at night for the first time. No links or maps showed house in correct location. just had to drive around to find it. sliding door didn't lock and no safes in house so we didn't feel safe leaving our passports there when we weren't there. most of the shower heads were so plugged with hard water that i had to remove and clean the 4 we used regularly. The master bathroom had a light out so the only light that worked was in the shower. On information do with any instruction, No check out procedure. I had reach out and never got a response so we did what we normally do and striped beds, took trash out and started load of towels. There are Definity some things the house management company need to do better to service the house owner and the guests that stay here,

Casa Malinche does not disappoint!

Casa Malinche Grande is a fantastic house in Playa Grande, in a super convenient location. The highlights were the two minute walk to the beach, the beach club next door with tons of food options like amazing sushi (like really!), burgers, cocktails, draft beer, coffee, and ice cream, the great pool and outdoor lounge area, and the living room to hang out in and stay cool during the heat of the day. Our group was three families with kids of varying ages so the convenience of having close by amenities was crucial. The house grounds were well kept. The house itself is nice, but there are a few things that need attention like the sliding doors, and an ant problem in one of the rooms when we arrived, but these things aren’t uncommon in Costa Rica, so I wouldn’t let it deter you from booking. Ludwig, who handles the maintenance was such a kind and welcoming person, and helped us with any requests we had. There are cleaners who will come every other day (or so) to clean the house, which is great for longer stays. When you arrive, if you need anything like soap, or paper towels, just ask and they will bring it for you. Playa Grande as a location is awesome as it’s still small and developing unlike nearby Tamarindo, but just be aware of that if you’re considering the area and you’re unfamiliar with it. The wave is really good, and the locals were friendly enough. Ripjack’s restaurant is super good. Food and various services seemed similar price to the USA, so don’t surprised!

Beautiful house is ideal location

We visited with a group of friends in April for my husband’s surprise 40th birthday and we had an absolutely amazing time. The house: The house is newly constructed so everything is clean and modern. The kitchen was fully equipped with more than enough of everything you needed to cook and feed a crowd. There were towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and 2 bikes available for use which was so nice. The bedding and bath towels were also nice and new and everything was so clean. The pool was very nice and clean and the fire pit next to it was cozy for the evenings. The lighting was done so well and we enjoyed our evening swim sessions in the pool under the lit up trees canopying over us. The sounds of nature were so serene. The location: The location is wonderful - 2 min walk to a beautiful beach or a short drive to some other well-know beaches in the area. There are numerous great restaurants within walking distance to grab some good food. There’s also an outdoor market next door to grab coffee, açaí bowls, burritos, sandwiches, etc. and on Wednesdays they have local vendors & artists come with beautiful hand-made items for sale so it’s a good way to stock up on some local treats and souvenirs. Other perks: The house has a concierge service and Julie was extremely helpful in providing recommendations of activities in the area, making reservations and even stocking the fridge with food prior to our arrival. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will be back again!
