Your perfect mountain getaway starts and ends at our family vacation home in Lake Arrowhead, CA. Our two level, 1800 sq. ft. home boasts two large living/entertaining spaces with the master suite, dining room, and kitchen on the top level; while the two custom guest rooms, bathroom, bar, and laundry room await you on the bottom level. On both levels, you will walk out onto huge decks that overlook the 12th and 13th fairways of the club golf course.

E-mail me and I will send you many more pictures of our home!

To be honest, we never envisioned offering our home as a vacation rental until recently. With a busy work and kid schedule, it just makes sense to provide others the same opportunity to make memories in such a beautiful setting. The granite-topped kitchen is well appointed for cooking family meals, the downstairs bar area is always a favorite with the slot machine, air hockey table, and Wii. Upstairs, family and friends tend to gather on the deck surrounded by towering pines, or sit in the lovely dining/kitchen to chat and visit. Enjoy an evening of entertainment watching a movie on our state-of-the-art TVs and sound systems in each main living area or relax with a glass of wine and a book in front of one of the fireplaces available on each level.

Once you have had a full day of the Lake Arrowhead experience, retire for a wonderful night's sleep on luxury bedding on one of the king or queen sized beds.

About Dave Ostash

We are a family of seven who love the opportunity to walk in the forested area just one block from our home, swim in the lake in the summer, BBQ on our deck in the evening, roast marshmallows, and watch movies by the fire.

Dave Ostash purchased this house in 2007

Why Dave Ostash chose Inland Empire

Lake Arrowhead is, truly, the perfect southern California destination. From San Diego to Central California, it is an easy, accessible drive. It is located a mile high up in the beautiful San Bernardino mountain range. Once you arrive in the resort "village" of Lake Arrowhead you will immediately find yourself relaxing and enjoying a beautiful getaway!

What makes this house unique

Whether you hang out at the house all day, sipping coffee on one of the large decks overlooking the golf course and beautiful surrounding evergreen forest, or you take off for one of the many destinations (trail hiking, mountain biking, outlet shopping, antiquing, skiing or snow skiing at one of the many premiere mountain resorts, or just taking a stroll by the beautiful lake), you will immediately love and appreciate our well-appointed home. There is plenty of parking and you are close to everything!!

Comfortable Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Dave was the best host, and his cabin is spacious, comfortable, and cozy. Our kids enjoyed the air hockey table, Wii, and the board games. We grilled our dinner, and ate it on the back deck. Our whole family had a great time at Dave's cabin. We all highly recommend it.

Perfect Family Getaway Spot

  • 5 of 5

Where to begin! Packed up the family (dog and all) to stay here for a combo writing retreat/summer vacay. Photos don't do this beauty justice. So many nice touches throughout, and the cabin is bigger than it appears. Oh, and having a parking deck was great rather than trying to juggle street parking.

The upper living area off the kitching/dining room isn't really shown in the pics, but it's where we spent a large portion of time. It has a pretty fireplace, a vaulted beam ceiling, a massive couch, and a 60" flat screen. The kitchen and both bathrooms are very nicely decorated and were well stocked while we were there with towels/TP/hand soap/all kinds of dishware, trash bags, and seasonings. (Bring your own shampoo/shower soap.) Bedrooms are super cute and offer extra pillows and blankets.

The two rear decks are large with plenty of seating. We enjoyed some meals out there as well as writing time and stargazing during cool evenings. The hammock was a fun surprise too. You do look out over the golf course a little from the upper deck, but this doesn't mean it lacks a woodsy/forest feel. There are plenty of trees to help views and privacy. There's also a BBQ and a nice fire pit, but we didn’t use them.

Downstairs has a game room and bar plus two of the bedrooms, a bathroom, and the laundry area. We made use of the bar table for playing cards, and air hockey was a big hit. There are board games tucked around the cabin, too, if you're bringing family/friends.

Do make sure to visit Lake Arrowhead village a few miles away. Lots of eateries, shops galore, and a great place to stroll along the lake to watch boats and take in the lovely scenery. This is also where you can take the Lake Arrowhead Queen for a tour around the lake. And Jensen's or Stater Bros are nearby if you need groceries. While we made most of our food in the cabin, we wound up eating out more than expected. And the lazy Susan dining table was great for family style meals.

This was a great place to get writing done (I did a ton!), and the family didn't want to leave. They kept wanting me to add extra days, and my husband joked about moving in permanently, ha. Definitely worth booking this property, we're glad we did.

Nice house and very helpful and responsive owner!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable home fit our group of 8 with no issues. It was the first time we've ever stayed in a vacation rental instead of a hotel, but we will definitely be doing it again! Dave was a great owner to work with. Very responsive to questions before and during our stay.

A great place to "get-away" - nice cabin - wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

Other than the weather being very hot which is unusual, we had a good time. Best part of the trip was the cabin - great cabin, great price, great owner who was extremely helpful and overall a good choice. The problem was the Lake which was filthy and overpriced for what they offered at Lake Gregory. Lake Arrowhead was nicer but not a lot to do there either unless you drink and love to eat or boat rides. Nice time with family and relaxing! Would recommend the cabin for sure!!

Great return stay

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house a few years back, had a great time! We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. All of us enjoyed the location, nice new TV, fireplace, and general layout of the house.

The location is great which is right on the golf course. The house has all of the essentials and has a welcoming atmosphere. We watched movies, played board games, enjoyed the fire, and spent quality family time together. FYI, the wifi works well.

A small suggestion, We like to cook homemade meals. Although we were able to make do with what was there (the selection is fine in terms of rental standards), I would like to see more pans & pots, up to date utensils, and general kitchen tools improved. Please don't interpret this as a "poor" kitchen. It suited our needs fine, just am suggesting some updated tools.

Dave is a great communicator and makes renting his home a simple and enjoyable process. Thanks again for accommodating our family and we look forward to returning again next year.
